Very rude post. If you cannot give advice, don't quote. I asked a simple question and you took it to another dimension. Not everyone is a crook dude. How will I take it without his permission when I don't live him, the tax clearance is in his house and I don't live with him. I stay in Lagos, he is rivers and I haven't been to his house since 2017, that was when I stumbled on it. He is my very close uncle but likes to keep the details of his finances private. I am asking here to know if I should bother to ask him for it.

How was her post rude, what you wrote insinuated that you wanted to take his tax return without telling him and she advised against that.

So saying I stumbled on it while doing something else but didn't tell him definitely means I intend to steal it. I know she misunderstood me but she could have asked for clarification before concluding. Plus her post didn't even address my question. It's rude, you wouldn't like such a comment either.

Bro Calm down. Stop dishing out advice that you know nothing much about. Please stop misleading people. He/She came back home so he was never out of status. Let people that have deep knowledge about these things advice him/her properly.

To Fellow Nairalanders, please scrutinize people that you take advice from. Some people have not visited the embassy talkless of studying or applying for H1B. No experience whatsoever yet they come here to dish out advice to critical situations.
That was the reason why I attacked him the other time. Oftentimes he says what he knows nothing about. They have successfully pursued the old timers on this thread.

Don't feel discouraged because you don't have a ground breaking profile. This year, I saw people with lower class divisions ( < 3.0) and with GREs below 310, getting full fundings. Email profs, do your research well, reach out to people on this forum if something is not clear to you. Above all, if you believe in God, please pray ceaselessly. Can I show my sponsor's tax clearance when they ask for bank statement. I stumbled on his rivers state tax clearance one day in his house and i was surprised by his 44m annual gross income. He works for an oil coy, but he doesn't know i have seen his tax clearance and he might not even want to give me.
Or should I present employer letter of introduction with coy letterhead.
Will the vo even regard these since they can't verify them.
My deficit is less than 10k usd

The purpose of asking for evidence of fund is to show you or your sponsors ability to pay the fees. While a tax clearance shows what is incoming which can be great but it doesn't tell the true picture. The true pic is what is left after expenditure. If he earns 44m but every year spends 43 million and wants to sponsor someone with 10k in addition to 43m expernditure then he really cannot. But if he earns 44m and spends 10m then his outstanding balance of 34m is very sufficinet

So based on that , bank statement yes shows that, tax clearance no. VOs dont accept that alone . You can show both but not tax clearance alone

First, thanks walspring for helping my friend pay his SEVIS fee.

My situation is kind of unique, and I'd appreciate any insight.

I was given an F1 VISA last spring for a masters in Finance at a 'not target' college. I have to admit, I wasn't aware of how competitive finance jobs were and how much focus was placed on target schools. I spent one semester in school, and decided to change school and course. It was too late for a transfer so I came back home.

Now, I have admission for a better school (UTDallas) for MS Accounting. Got the Dean's excellence scholarship and hoping to get the GA I applied for(which seems impossible at the moment).

My question is, do I need to apply for a new visa interview?

What is the procedure for a situation like mine?

Please share if you have any insight

Thanks
Please those that have experience on this she help her.

You've won me over with this post. Such a humble personality! I had imagined you'd come to give it back to him/her. As for you dumbiri99, you may need to weigh your words before you write them. I'm not saying this because a veteran is affected, but since the journey ahead is far and you'd be needing one help or the other, you don't need to burn bridges. You never can tell who will get offended with your unkind words to others and withhold a solution they can offer for your query. Peace!

I didn't respond to this partly because the picture is not very clear to me. Further, some others have given insights on the way forward based on certain assumed conditions. You may need to come out clearer by painting a more detailed picture or apply the earlier suggestions as it applies to your case.

Class ratio of 20:1 is not somfin you should add to why this school if it's not really exceptional. The average student to faculty ratio is 18:1 and some schools have as low as 6:1. Just my opinion.

How many gave you admission? Just mention the number. There's no need of 'fast admission'. If you haven't heard from the rest then state that too.

Your response to why US should also stress on the value a US degree has in Nigeria.
