Closing down the pick up threads is not a wise ideal because of few bad egg among us,cutting down the head is not a solution to headache.

Thousands of people still benefit from ideal of buying from abroad at a cheaper rate and wait for few weeks to receive the items in Lagos....you said the whole thing is now more or less a sham and buyers use this as a bench mark for ridiculous offers,I disagree with you sir,if you a trusted deal hunter and you have a good and reasonable deal,you will surely see a buyer,making a ridiculous offers is very common in any business set up... I got a lot of calls and text messages everyday requesting for my deal hunting service,i do sell a lot of deals without even advertising them here...

We all had one or two deals that gone wrong,but that does not mean we should stop doing business or buying from abroad...We all know that a lot of scams is going in offer up,letgo,5miles,graiglist and even our indigenous site,jiji,this sites did not close down because scams,rather, they work day and night to fish out scammers...

[b]My candid opinion is that any one either buyer,seller or deal hunter found guilty of scam or any shady deal should brought to book...the conflict resolution thread should be more active...the sellers should be aware that paying into deal hunters account is very risking ,insist in paying directly into pickers account and make sure you see the pictures and details of what you are buying before paymen[/b]t...

Seriously in full support! I remember stating some days ago dat ppl hv abused this thread whereby you see peeps who have no business in anyway related to Offerup/Letgo post up in here claiming already in Nigeria. This has seriously derailed & devalued the thread, which in my honest opinion should be closed down & business revert to status quo.
Also, all 3 threads related to pick ups should be closed down because its bad for business especially when it's stapled to the front page. Imagine a potential customer coming in to transact & it's issues that greet him . I am not in anyway saying there shouldn't be any resolution page but it shouldn't be front page stuff, maybe the committee of judges to be set up can handle that on a different platform & the resolution update be given to us.
I am not much of a talker but the level of lowballing here is getting seriously irritating!

Telegram channels for pickers to post items picked and group for Dealhunter’s and hunting strictly based on admission . For those who want to sell their items they can sell via any medium they choose or any marketplace be it online or physical store .

For deal sellers your tlc deals can be posted on telegram groups to sell to other deal buyers who are willing to land them and sell on land

Same situation played out in the international oil market in the 70's following an oil glut and the solution was the birthing of the oil Cartel - OPEC. A casual look suggests a similar structure to "control/fix" prices might just be what's needed here. Shutting down threads would be counterproductive.
How would an offerup Cartel work? A price floor and price ceiling (upper and lower limits) should be agreed on by sellers for TLC deals and already in Lagos offerup deals. Difference between TLC and already in Lagos should be between 10-20k. Any seller that offers less than the agreed price should be sanctioned by other sellers by "forcing" pickers to deny them service for as long as necessary. This is just rudimentary and I believe the fine details can be worked out.
Dragnet might disagree and want to enforce a free market system but like the OPEC example I cited above, Cartels and unions are a part of every form of business and serve to protect dangerous competition. Time for an offerup sellers Whatsapp group if it doesn't already exist.

Bro there's something called min & max market price. If u check any structured marketplace (CV, Alaba, Ladipo etc), its present in play & dats what regulates prices. If u try selling any lower or higher dan those min & max prices u'll be cautioned, if it repeats itself u can be isolated & sent out. Even has it in play when u try to post an ad on their platform, they check for crazy prices which would eventually hinder ur ad from being published.
In a nutshell, we hv to create a means to thoroughly eradicate these heartless low-ballers. Some offers I receive here at times make me seriously wonder if this customer thinks I go about pickpocketing these phones I post. Imagine a perfectly working mint S9+ for 90k
