Pearl05: I think his weight is fine o I think we were 4.5kg at that age. ROTAVIRUS is important. I took for Akorede but I didn't take for Moyo and Muna. Also note that my hygiene with babies is always very high and my babies are usually exposed to just a few family members. |

Weight is fine In my opinion Rota is important, I've also heard it's now free in some health centres in Lagos. You can search the thread or wait let Bloomingbud or Zaynie come online, I think they got the free one Pearl05: |

Good morning mamas, please help me look into this issue. My son is 1 year but he's not weighing as much as i think he should, i believe he is underweight. He weighed 3.1 at birth and at 12 months 8kg, he was placed on multivitamin but i dont see any difference. He was exclusively bfed and still sucking, only takes pap and cereal, fish and egg sometimes but rejects other foods. He is quite active and hardly sleeps during the day. Please help me, i am so worried. Is his weight OK? What can i do to help him? |
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Giddyperson: 9:22am On Jun 25, 2019 |
Pearl05:He's added about 1.6kg, that should be good. My baby added 2kg by 6 weeks, that's about the same range. If there was something wrong with his weight, they would usually mention it there and you can always ask next time, but I think his weight is fine. As for ROTA, white people have told us its important so its probably important until their next research says its not. You should take it if you can afford it, and you should start saving up because more expensive ones lie ahead. |

Olajumoke459:Ask the hospital where you gave birth for their immunization booklet, or go to any primary health centre closest to you and get their imminization booklet. Baby is supposed to have gotten OPv, BCG and Hepatitis B at birth or within the first few days after delivery. Ask the people that handled your delivery which ones they've given your baby and try to get a booklet so you can keep a record. If you can't find a booklet, buy a small exercise book for now and write them down. |

Rubyzz:How many times in a day do you feed him? I feed 5/6 times a day +finger foods or smoothie(banana, pear and watermelon) Multivitamin doesn't make baby/adult to add but hungry Increase his feeding routine and also genes can play a major role in his weight too. 1 Like |

Giddyperson: More expensive one? See me here thinking that immunization are usually free. With the mindset of seeing those who go around the neighborhood to give children for no charge. Abeg FG should subsidized them biko. One woman had one of the staff there spoke to the husband and I heard them say total #23000 but me was thinking probably na another biz dem dey talk sef as her daughter was 1yr plus. |

Pearl05:Yeah the big money ones start around 1 year, the rest are free. I got one round of free ROTA in Lagos for my son, when it was time for the second round, we were told ROTA was no longer subsidized, that was around March, I don't know if anyone has gotten free in Lag since then. |

Rubyzz:Let me contribute to this. My dd wasn't gaining weight as expected too at this age until I started adding Dano full cream milk to her cereals, especially semo and pap (brown pap, crayfish and soybean). Since u said he likes pap and cereals, continue with it and add enough milk. Make sure he sleeps too. 1 Like |

You are not over-reacting, neither is grandma. My mom stayed 2 months and really helped out because apart from being mom, shes also a pediatric nurse of over 40 years experience so i was rest assured my baby was in good hands. I could go out as i pleased, observe my siesta twice a day etc yet i was a bit relieved when she left. Because as someone said, there can't be two captains in a ship. I just wanted my space back. my room, my privacy. So even though she's not your mom, just try and bear with her until she leaves except if you feel she's of little use to you then you can find a way to ease her off gently and politely. After all Omugwo has an expiry date. The days after my mom left. i felt so alone and abandoned but still okay to be alone (as contradictory as that sounds) [quote author=wonyi post=79643584]Mamas,I am loosing my mind. I guess I am in and can't pull myself out until omugwo is over. 2 Likes |

sayoddy: Great!!! After 12days post cs i was still in pain. Had to call a friend that delivered her babies twice through cs. She advise that i sit on sitz bath with hot water, place a hot dry towel on my tommy. I did for two days and the pain disappeared and it helped to bring my tommy into shape. Chunk of dark cloted blood was just coming out after i did it. My tommy no big again oooo. As in i was shocked. Am yet to take my bath cos some part of the stitch is not dry. Na rub and shine until it heals completely. Am still taking things easy oooo 7 Likes 7 Shares |

FloraEC: I feed him about 5 times daily, pap/tombrown or cereal then an egg daily. Sometimes fruits in between, but he totally hates food so meal times are always a struggle. On the other side both i and his dad are not that big bit we have big genes in the extended family. My major concern is hope he is not malnourished? A doctor suggested i give him dynamorgen, is it safe for a 1 year old? |

Rubyzz:Introduce healthy fatty foods like banana, avocado, mashed sweet potato with egg, beans(you can buy AS veggie beans, all you need is blended dryfish(you can buy AS own), plantain and oil). I'm a mom to a picky eater so I understand the struggle during feeding time I don't know about the drug 1 Like |
