Sovereign Trust Commenced its rights issue yesterday. Shareholders are entitled to 1 ordinary share of 50k for every 2 ordinary shares of 50k held as at January 19, 2019. Rights issue price is 50k per share. It closed trading today at 23k per share.

If you understand NSE, this is the time to exit the shares that has stagnated in lower 20ks as I believe it may eventually get to 35k-40k before the rights issue closes on July 31, 2019.

A word is enough for the wise.

Thank you for this insight

I doubt they will be concerned about the market price. They have control of the company and can patiently wait to skim off from both top and bottom line in future. Even if they wanted to take the company private, I doubt the will offer any amount near the 60's. No motivation at all to do that.

I have been in the stock market for a while, a very good while, I have experienced three intensively brutal reconstructions. That experience made me to vow NEVER TO TRADE STERLING BANK. And I have NEVER touched it since that time. Even when the stock is SHOUTING BUY BUY BUY, I laugh and walk away..... grin
I may not be fair to myself, but at least I am sticking to my rules..... grin

No reconstruction ended up as soothing as a curse. Heavy objects always penetrated the ceiling and decisively pinned me to my couch.

Most curses take a while to be decisively punitive.
The reconstructions evoked immediate and sustained capital erosion.

The stocks seemed to always prefer their initial prices before the reconstruction.

Where they failed to descend rapidly, illiquidity took over their dynamic chart patterns and the candles emaciated and lost their bodies and wicks... grin

I hope this turns out to be different.

Personally, I will never again be sleeping inside a bedroom that Julius Berger's cranes are crossing heavy equipments over its roof..... grin

Immediately I sight cranes, I hurriedly relocate. Even if it is under the bridge, I prefer to wait there, even for a year.... grin

When CILEASING wanted to destroy value under the guise of Reconstruction.

All sentiments shared here so far about Airtel's IPO is mostly true.
It's a much more sincere approach IMO.
Going by the pricing which is based on the OS, you could decipher they aren't out to exploit the common man because it is already beyond his reach. If them exploit, kpa kpa na the money bags loose and they can hardly offend those caliber of investors, so they came clean with stating they will service debts with some of the offer proceeds.
The offer prospectus also states they are paying 80% of their eps as dividend.
One thing about investing at this level I have come to realise is that there is hidden value to reap before it is made affordable for all.
My own be say I have been scratching my head to find what ways retail investors like us go fit subscribe since pre-listing and today I have found a way.
Afrinvest has perfected an SPV that makes it possible for retail investors to invest in a minimum of 500 shares.
Am letting this info out here in the spirit of the brotherhood we share in this forum.
No intent to monkey hunt.
Do your DD and if the numbers pleases you, carry go.
I may take a punt on this...undecided though.

Anything I am going to buy that I will have to sit across the table sweating to convince Loco, Yayira, Peterichy to buy from me is a NO NO for me.... grin

UNBIASED REPORTAGE
People of God, I am done with my findings on Airtel Africa regarding this IPO.
Current dividend yield hovers around 5%ish.
For those who need to make their investment decision before IPO closes on Thursday, please find below:

The estimated Earnings Per Share (EPS) for Airtel Africa based on the issued share capital of 3.7bn shares and US$450m profit is US$0.12.
Converted to Naira, EPS is between N37.20 and N43.90 based on the Official and NAFEX exchange rates respectively.
We estimate the P/E ratio at 9.8x and 10.3x respectively.
According to the IPO prospectus, the company intends to pay 80% of consolidated free cashflow as dividend.
However, the dividend pay-out is dependent on a leverage ratio between 2.5x and 3.5x.
This ratio is currently at 3.01x, so we estimate dividend per share (US$0.07) to be N20.10 and N23.72 based on Official and NAFEX exchange rates respectively
Based on the offer price of N363-N454, this translates to a dividend yield of 5.5% and 5.2% respectively.

When investing, COMPARISON is key.
Do we presently have highly liquid companies listed on NSE that can beat the returns here and have a solid track record over the years? YES!
Then, only HOPE can make me listen to a new version of MOON TALES transmogrified into AIR TALE.

Yes people will keep loosing in NSE cos we are too emotional when it comes to stock investment, I was having over 100k units of oando then bought around 10 naira then my inner mind told me to pull out then another emotional mind said if it jumped to #100 then I will resign thank God I listined to my mind to sell, I sold @ 11 entered access @ 8 my mind told me again to sell access I sold @11.20 since then I never looked the way of oando again. Same happens to UACN. All these stocks have not got back to the Prices I sold them. As long as we are too emotional about a particular stock, and we don't have a definite strategy, we will be loosing money big time. Another stock that may likely enter 10-15 or below is forte. People are well carried away with all the talks but time will surely tell though my mind has tod me to pull out and that I have done since @ 42
