Addressing the protesters , who carried banners with inscriptions such as “EFCC should probe Aregbesola”, Retirees are dying”, “Pension , Gratuity is our right ,” the chairman of Forum of 2011/ 2012 Pensioners, Mr . Yemi Lawal , declared that Osun’s retirees were the most traumatized in the country .

WHEN PAST MILITARY GOVERNMENT ( GENERAL BABANGIDA AND LATE GENERAL SANI ABACHA ) WERE CREATING UNVIABLE STATES LEFT AND RIGHT.

Many of us were PRAISE SINGING AND CHORUSING their action with more political leaders from a large segment of Nigeria geopolitical zones were calling for more states to be created.

Even till now there is clamour for more states to be created out of the 36 states in Nigeria.

I am wondering what those individual think in their mindset?

Is it to only create state? what about the viability of such state?

what about the economic prospects of such a state in present day Nigeria?

FROM EXPERIENCE WE HAVE HAD SINCE THE EXIT OF THE PREVIOUS MILITARY GOVERNMENT THAT CREATED THESE STATES ARE JUST HANGER ON LIKE PROSTITUTES IN A BROTHEL WAITING FOR CLIENTS.

They are just NEEDLESS LIABILITIES that only help to compound our present development as a country while at the same time making political leaders to exploit the little allocation that is shared to such an unviable state.

CORRUPTIONS BY OUR POLITICAL CLASS HAS EVEN MADE THESE NEWLY CREATED STATES SITUATION EVEN WORSE GIVEN THE SCARCITY OF FUNDS TO RUN THEM.

IF THESE CREATED STATES WILL SURVIVE THE TEST OF TIME THEY SHOULD BE MERGED TO THEIR SISTERS STATES IN A REGIONAL FRAMEWORK.

Unless we are simply deceiving ourselves on the economic and financial realities that Nigeria as a country is presently stuck with.

Hmn. What does this tell us? Do not work for the government sad sad sad sad. You are young now. Work for a private company or create a business of your own. It won't be easy at the beginning, but you can become the CEO of your Company some years down the line. When you are in your late 50's and 60's, you wont have to wait for Pension and Gratuities from the State or Federal Government. Cheers.

My dad retired in 2016 and osun state government is still owning him several salaries
His gratuity has no been paid
I am a final year student of Ladoke Akintola University, owning for two sessions and thinking of differing my admission

When i read news like this my faith in Nigeria Dwindles a little more,How would these People Eat, pay utilities school their children And the rest after serving their country with their productive years, This is one of the reason we kicked out the old government of PDP but this One seems to be Worse,I guess it's true what they say "The demon you know is better than the angel you don't know"

their pensioners are not protesting now. osun State pensioners protest often in this year alone. the clueless governor haven't pay 15 months he owed them.
