Were you the one that came up with the idea of the project and the methods to use in the research? I know it's the lecturer that gave you the topic, you only performed the experiments and did the write-up and want to take the glory? Research is collaborative with a team which the students are part of and the head of the team is obviously the lecturer. You don't expect an undergraduate who is yet to have a B.Sc as the lead researcher of a project when it's to be published or used to apply for grant. Do you?
