Hello, thanks for your response. I happen not to be the one who wrote my SOP, a family friend who lives in Canada did and he also handled my application. Though I felt my SOP was quite shaggy but it was forthright. Can you please advice me on my next move should I go ahead and pay my fees and tackle the financial ground of refusal because that is what my family friend is suggesting or I defer the admission while I request my GCMS note. I really want to meet this sept intake but the time it takes for the note to arrive is unfavorable. PS: what are the documents your cousin submitted and if I may, can I contact you because this whole thing is getting me devastated. Oloshi83: |

CharlesRay1990: Did you know if he used his agency information to apply for you or made the application seem like you applied yourself? If the application was filed with the use of an authorized representative form, you can be fortunate enough to defend yourself by making a good explanation to convince the VO, by also appending a legitimate BS. If this form wasn't use to apply on your behalf which most agents don't often use this days, am sorry to, you'all be getting the 5yrs back for misrepresentation. You share from this blame also, as I believe you're aware of the importance of BS in visa application, which you showed little or no concern about to enquire about, after the agent promised you to provide one. Its well. I wish you the best possible luck! |

prospy01:You are welcome. The gcms actually shows the exact reason (s) why am app is delayed, but if you think it is based on funds(as the refusal letter says) then you can correct that alone and reapply even before your gcms note arrives, but it will just be guessing. Some people have done that and they succeeded but I always advise people with time to order for their note just to be sure. Since you don't have much time and still want to meet up with this September resumption then you can tackle only what the refusal letter says and reapply. Good luck bro |

JustMellow:You are correct on the bolded. The thing though is that visa applications are as much about perception as they are about facts. It's entirely possible that the eight-page SOP was really good, but if I was a VO presented with such an SOP I'd immediately assume that the writer hasn't been able to distill his/her reasons for visiting Canada into clear reasons. This essentially becomes a perception issue -- VOs are really busy people and expecting a VO to read an eight-page treatise shows a lack of empathy for the busy VO. Such a lengthy writeup creates a significant burden for the VO, and introduces negative emotions in the VO's mind even before they start reading the document. In summary, you are entirely correct. My view however is that an application for a visa should present the information from the VO's perspective, and an eight-page SOP does the opposite -- it immediately creates the impression that the applicant is a rambler (even if untrue). My general rule is that a visa application mostly requires the art of persuasion, requiring a combination of logical arguments as well as empathy for the counterparty (the VO). 1 Like |

JustMellow:These agents aren't registered that's why they use fake documents to apply for applicants so I am very sure they didn't fill the representative form. This is why applicants needs to be involved in their applications process(no matter how busy they are). These agents don't give a damn about anyone but themselves, he probably used one statement of account for all his clients. He will be somewhere flexing the money he collected from them and allow them to suffer the ban and wasted resources alone |

Good afternoon house and i really want to say thank you to everyone on this platform, the experienced i have gained so far even an agent may not have half of it. So finally my GCMS note is out and please i would need advice on how best to tackle it and what we feel the VO had in mind. Grounds for refusal : Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your temporary resident visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status. What the GCMS note stated: Taking the applicants plan of studies into account, the applicant does not appear to be sufficiently well established that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense. The applicant's plan appears to be poorly documented. The applicants prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application i am not satisfied that the applicant will depart canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay, for this reason i have refused this application. Documents submitted: Account statement of a 3rd party sponsor (An uncle that does not bear the same surname, he is a grandpa and no dependent in that sense but wasn't stated in my SOP) With a balance of $22,000 & 10,600 euros in his domiciliary account. Approximately CND46,778 and my total expenses was about CND42,000. His CAC document, sponsorship letter from him and an Affidavit. My letter of employment, leave form and introduction letter from my employer stating i will considered for an higher position when i return A introduction letter from my church to show my commitment and leadership positions stating someone will stand in for me while away A conditional admission letter ( to submit my original transcript) but now i have my unconditional letter A landed property in my name (Though i think the document wasn't good enough as i purchased from a school and they are yet to give the necessary document, just a letter from them stating a purchase and transfer of ownership) My course of study : Masters in public Administration Current employment- Administrative personnel and this has been my line of employment over the years Undergraduate course: Bsc. Sociology SOP - which i sincerely must say was very poor. I submitted before joining the thread in first week of April 2019. Kindly note i have written to the school to resume January 2020 since my admission is valid for the 1st 3 Semesters. Question 1) My 3rd party sponsor account is no longer available has he used the money for business shortly after i submitted my application, wouldnt the VO be thinking that the documents as in the SOA am about submitting for re-application in-consistent? 2) I intend submitting a personal SOA of about 2.5m and using my dad as a sponsor with about 8m balance in his personal account. How much do you think its best he has in his account or can 8m fly? 3) I do feel that the VO was also had an hidden concerned with my financial status reading his first sentence and how best can i address the concerns the VO stated. 4) How best do i present the landed property or what documents can i attached to show it is genuine. 50 What other documents do i need to show for my re-application. I am thinking of reapplying by 1st week in august using my july statement of account to resume January. Please i would appreciate sincere feedbacks and i will be grateful if i get some help with my new SOP and LOE since its a re-application. Thank you all in advice for your candid response. @Qudkom, JustMellow and others your input will be greatly appreciated. 1 Like 1 Share |

mcobex:please with respect to this fraudulent SOA issue, after submitting your SOA with your application, and some amount of money is withdrawn to carry out a business transaction, as CIC carry out their verification would this raise any red flag is there a way they check for the amount left in the account or is it just about the authenticity of the account? |

pete26:CIC can be unpredictable sometimes and can go as far as they want. Soany people will say different things about the above question you raised but I will comment based on one case I witnessed, an applicant withdrew some cash from his account after submitting his app and CIC stated it in his gcms note that he made a withdrawal (the fact they mentioned the amount got me shocked). some bankers will tell you embassies only call to know the authenticity of the account and not the balance and withdrawal but from what I have seen they sometimes go as far as asking about certain transactions and also the history of the account after you applied . My advice to you is this: Leave the money in your account throughout the visa process(especially if it hasn't exceeded the processing time) 2 Likes 1 Share |

oluwadelana:1. Your bank can always help you out with it using a Form A. 2. The process of applying for a visa application requires several supporting documents, financial documents to tailor your needs. You can do yourself a solid and read through the forum from part 15 to boost your ideas. 1 Like |

olaola17: In brief, the concerns raised by the VO isn't too much and can be tackled. The concerns points majorly to your study plan and level of establishment in Nigeria. This involves your economic capacity, future plans, economic prospect of the intended course even to your hometies from an economic viewpoint. In your study plan, try to show correlation between Administrative personal and Sociology, connect them and hint on the job/economic prospect and future plans in both or either field. Showing documents that relates to a certain situation of your application is one thing and connecting these documents in your study plan to build on a proper convincing is another thing. The closing balance of your father isn't bad at all though it also depends on his family compilation/dependents, but if he can up it to 10m or above, then good. Also, your closing balance of 2.5m isn't bad as well, just include your BS. Irrespective of who your sponsor is, if you can get your first semester tuition fees paid outside the 8m of your father, more better. Make sure you include any relevant documents that shows his source of funds and proof of funds likewise yours i.e. employment letters, CAC, etc. You can search through the forum for more supporting documents relevant to your case. Good luck! 1 Like 1 Share |

olaola17: Sorry about the refusal. Now this had been my stand concerning GCMS note: it can not be far from the generic reasons as your case clearly shows here. I read it over and over again and I was still seeing the both as same but in different English construction. Anyway, to my little advice or suggestion, 1. Third party is a no no for me though some have used it and got approved. But thank God you are correcting that now by using your dad. Please if you haven't paid your skol fees even if it's for a term, kindly increase either Your Own account(2.5m) to at least 4m or more or your Dads own to 10m or more. But I prefer Your Own because the VO this days tends to pay more focus on your own. 2. I can't see your passport or your LOE/SOP but I believe that is where the issue of travel history is. Look well and rearrange that. 3. I will say you shot yourself on the leg by having a BSc in Sociology and now going to study admin. I also sure according to what the VO wrote that you were unable to convince him as regards this. And that was what brought about the "purpose of visit" and he went on the explain in the GCMS note that a) poorly documented and b) the expense does not worth it. What you need to do here is a) that Admin program I am not okay with, get another one if possible. b) to write a good SOP/LOE that will link or explain the link of your previous degree + current job + the program you are going for in Canada. 4. Get at least one or more assets in your name apart from that of your dad. Now I have never typed these long here, so I can't say more even though I wish to. But the power of your app is in your LOE/SOP. Abeg no ask me to help, I no good but I understand the logic as I don learn from the gurus in the house. #ItWillEndInPraise. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Naijaforeigner: 9:42pm On Jun 25, 2019 |
pete26: This is my own take on the issue. If you know your sponsor does not need the money for the entire duration of the application, then you can leave it in the account. When I did mine, my mum sent the money to my account. I submitted my SOA and my mum's 4 months business SOA with weekly cash flow of over 7M. I explained how I came about the money and who the person that transferred the money is to me. Immediately I submitted my application, I transferred the money back to my mother the next day. How can I even tell a business woman that I will hold her money for months? Make sure any account you submit has a good cash flow It is very key to have the amount CIC wants in the account you are using but also very key to ensure your SOA or your sponsor's SOA has a good cash flow. Once your sponsor has a good cash flow and you submit evidence of the work he/she does to earn such, you have nothing to worry about. They will not start looking for what is not missing. One of the major reasons CIC demands for 4 months bank statement is to see the cash flow. They can automatically tell if that individual is capable or not. Let me also add, if you ever use money in your account during your application, make sure you still have access to it or it is money you can always get back within 30 days. Someone I know applied for Canada PR, 5 months into the application, CIC asked for an updated SOA. Well, his investment company wrote a letter on his behalf to the embassy stating he invested bla bla amount of money. He got his PR just last month. All the best. 2 Likes |

pete26: To the best of my knowledge, no harm out at, but its important to keep the account running or active. There is no defined way of verifying the authenticity of BS, this process is randomly done and the verification process doesn't stay more than some minutes (maybe 3 or more). It could also be a yes or no question put across to the bank 1 Like 1 Share |
