Almost 70mins and no goal.

Did I not tell you people

You can't be protesting a day to a crucial match and expect to be lethal in front of goal against an opposition that was preparing for you while you were carrying placards.

Shebi na here we dey

Shut up your smelling mouth, EP = ENEMY OF PROGRESS

All the time una go dey form say una Sabi football tactics. Rohr started Moses because he had an awaziem who is not a rb. Deployed in the position and if not for Moses work rate and if they would have targeted the rb position as our weakest link.

Onyekuru and chukwueze are better wingers put simon has something the both lacks which is good work rate and unselfishness. Football na tactics no be to come for faceless forum dey spit trash
Humility017:

he is just a good man manager...don't really know tactics much.
iwobi will do better if he has mikel partnering with him in the midfield.
and for Moses Simon he should sit on the bench next time.... we need wingers that can beat defenders one on one and not shy away from attack and go defend

Well, maybe that was his strategy since the opposition was not a "more attacking team". Against a more attacking team, perhaps he'll have a different plot. Also, Nigeria had 10 corner kicks against Guinea's 1, and slightly more shots.
2 games, 2 victories, qualified for 2nd round. So glad to put my calculator away. cheesy

sontoly:

We will celebrate the win, but if you look closely there was no atom of creativity in the team, the game was overall boring, the coach only sets up his team to defend and nothing more. If we play against a more attacking team, am afraid we will crack.

Fact: Balogun, Omeruo combo is more composed than Ekong combo.

They faced less pressure than against Burundi

KPOM!

No miscued passes from either of the two Centre backs to put the team under undue pressure.

God bless you my brother. That Rohr is a very useless coach. He hardly change players! This is the exactly thing he did in world cup that made us lose against Argentina.
Against a more attacking and pressing team we will lose, or make unnecessary mistake, the man is so slow in changing players.

Now I see why Rohr loves Simon so much. The Bobo get work rate pass chukwueze
but still a sh1t. He contribute absolutely nothing going forward.

our defense saved us today.

I am so surprised I am expecting the team to make an improvement on the play against burundi but to my disappointment it was not so.....

mikel would have even done better today than iwobi...

I am not really pleased with rohr benching mikel...
one match is not enough to judge a player...rather he should be allowed to play the CM role...and bring in etebo for him later

Bros,na wetin u want self??

Mikel started at AM against Burundi and performed poorly and there was a general outcry for him to stop playing the role. Rohr obliged and dropped him...
And u are now saying Mikel would have done better than Iwobi in the role...

The CM role is the only role Mikel can actually do very well in...unfortunately, we need Etebo's energy there

The defense was the real story today. Omeruo and Balogun looked good together and the passing just kept flowing at times. We have a lot of work to do but we are on the right path. We should remain humble and hungry.

Weda we play well o, or we no play well, we get 6 points and we don qualify. This is not the time to dey form Barça. The combo of Omeruo and Balogun made Akpeyi's look World class. We will get better game by game.

I must confess we had a great game today. To play a physically fit guinea side under that intense heat and still won is uneasy.

You are entitled to your opinion, sure! But bros this is rubbish. This game certainly did not need Mikel as a starter.

Assured and composed performance from the Eagles.

The team was never under any consistent attacks and pressure from Guinea.

And we grind out the result and qualified for the round of 16.

I couldn't have asked for more.

Oh la la. . . .#SuperEaglesDonQualify

No one said it was a great win. We were sloppy here and there but matured and maintained composure. I fear however for our lack of competition in the group stages. I felt like we should’ve gotten North African country to test our squad.
