Good Afternoon Everyone,

Please I need advice, me and my wife have been nursing the ambition of relocating to Canada but somehow we couldn't start the process last year but we want to start the process now.

The issue is, I want to use an agent for the whole process but my friend is advising that I do it on my own that it's possible and easy to do. Truly from what I have read here and from all the info I have gathered so far, I think I can do it in my own.

Please advice me people, is it better to use agent or to to do it on my own?

I have written ielts 3 times. I feel sick after the third time cos I also lost my international passport. I was depressed and decided I wasn’t gonna try any more. My friend called me and asked me, what am I giving up to? Like even if it doesn’t work, i will still be in this country, is that what I want for my family? Will I eat my eca certificate and the reference letter and all other documents, that I should better brace up and go back and start writing. I don’t think am finish, no be person tell me to call Johnny bravo to fix a date. I ain’t giving up, cos at this stage, it goes beyond me. The future of my kids and their mother will be determined by my persistence or giving up. So my bro, we will see the end of this Canada.

I see people come here and say "I want to do this canada Canada migration stuff but I don't have time or I can't practice for IELTS". These people just make my blood boil mehn. I mean this is your freaking life at stake and you're not willing to pay attention to even the minutest detail?

Listen sir/ma, this thing takes work, as in serious work. Getting the visa, which is no mean feat, is just the beginning of at least 3 years of work and planning, and at the inception you're already talking lackadaisically about it? FYI, Canada will be very competitive because they are attracting middle class professionals from the most populous nations in Africa and Asia. So better brace up! It is not gonna be a tea party.

To the lady who came to bash her husband here in the name of seeking advice and cannot have time to practice IELTS. Abeg, think am well o. I work in one of the busiest law firms in this country and without breaking from work I practiced for this IELTS o. Morning, afternoon, evening for about 2 months, I was practicing. As I resume, practice, break time practice, closing time practice. Don't let BC/IDP use you to meet their budget.

Going to Canada is no joke. I still get the shivers when I think about it that in less than a year from today, God willing, I will no longer live in this country that I have lived in for 29 years! And I will carry somebody's daughter and join body. Please let us be serious!

Thanks for coming to my Tedtalk.

But why do people prefer this EE to PNP even tho PNP has the EE too and adds 600 marks to your score.

ask your self which PNP. Is it favourable to everyone Asides from manitoba which u need fsmily and sask which that ur job has to be in demand . Which other one is there that you can apply for Alberta and ontario u have to be in the pool. It is longer too. If u meet EE cut off pnp is not necessary. Ontario pnp costs 1500 cad some certain occupations were selected in may many did take it. Because they will get ita. After ita ur score is useless. Maybe u think if u have 1000 points ur beta off. After PNP, you will still go through the regular EE process that everyone else goes through. It's longer (but a godsend for people who can't meet current CRS scores because of age).

Also, there is the restriction / guilt trip / expectation of staying in the nominating province for a certain amount of time.

Bonsoir touts le monde. Elle a raison. Augumente ton score, sil te plait.
Hehehe. Pls dont mind me oo. Jus trying to encourage someone. Am jus a french beginner. Learning it jus incase b4 its too late.

I’m kicking myself for my inaction last year; for not redoing IETLS to see if I could get 7.5 in writing for 3 extra marks, for not starting spouse’s ECA before my “minus 5” day,  maybe I would have been one of the 438 or 439 ITAans in Dec/Jan…….SO…. I’m just hoping to encourage someone here to the use the time wisely, get a second degree, start French lessons and ace TEF (as Njbybrthnly take do, enough Indians on Canadavisa studying for TEF), sponsor a sibling for 15 points, redo the IETLS (look at that sister whose husband did it 15 times), remark it sef if money for redo no too dey, marry a younger person with PhD, Canadian experience and Canadian education (na joke o)……either way do something; you never know the one God will use to show you mercy…..but please I beg you, don’t sit and wait

With 8777 (LRSW) in IELTS you guys will be in the 440+ range. If he gets maximum point in IELTS 8.5/8/7.5/7.5 you will be in 450+ range which is a safer bet in recent times (I am assuming you will write IELTS and evaluate your degree too). However, getting maximum score is not beans o, but it's very possible. Please read through page 1 of this thread thoroughly. There is so much info available to guide you and then you can ask questions where you need clarification. Plenty professors, guru's and elders are here to assist.

IzzyAde:
Hubby will be 33 in July and i am 26. Do you think he should be the principal applicant since he has longer work experience. Thank you for the response

@TemiGee Why don't you start now. Hubby has HND and OND, he can get evaluated as two or more degrees with WES. He doesn't need the BCS. That will cost more money and will still be two or more degrees. He has 5 years experience, which makes him the best person as P.A. (I assume his age is not too advanced)

By this time next year. 470 may struggle to get ITA. Who knows. "There is no time to check time"

Hi all,
So i have been going through the thread for a while and i and hubby have tried to get as many info as we can but still need some answers, will be glad if anybody can help us out. The goal is 2020 but we want to prepare ahead

I have a Bsc in Agricultural Economics but presently working as an accountant, by 2020 I should have a little bit over two years of verifiable work experience. I recently applied for a Masters at Unilag to help boost our point but then I feel the certificate might not be ready when we need it, i just started my ACCA exams, so its impossible to use that so we are thinking I run a PGD course at NOUN cos i read where someone said NOUN certificate can be evaluated by WES and i will get it within a year

Hubby on the other hand has a HND certificate in Computer Science but is presently running his BSC. We are also not sure if the certificate will be ready by 2020. He has over 5 years of verifiable work experience as an IT support Engineer. He is thinking of doing the BCS diploma exam, we got that info from here too.

We both plan to do IELTS and WES evaluation

With this little story of mine, please who do you think will fit more to be the P/A, if i can get a PGD certificate by 2020

Hi
I want to take my time to help you in my little way.
1) Preparations for your vision 2020 should start now as we have just 6months to 2020.

2) From your posts, I could deduce the following info
You - Bsc, 1-2years work experience, 26years.
Your hubby - Hnd, 5years work experience, 33years.

Going by these information,

If you should be the PA with IELTS L8.5, R8, W7.5, S7.5,
and Hubby IELTS L8, R7,W7, S7.
Your CRS will be 419

If your hubby should be the PA, with IELTS L8.5, R8, W7.5, S7.5, and your IELTS L8, R7, W7, S7.
Your CRS will be 455.

With this,

Hubby does not need BCS for his CRS to increase because his Hnd would be evaluated as 2or more certificates by Wes but will only lose 20points cos of age.

You don't have 3or more work experience which might make you lose 25points., you also do not have 2or more certificates which will make you lose another 32points (except you go for PGD or CIMA or BCS which will take time and money )

Hence I advise your hubby should be the PA and both of you should STUDY well for ielts .This is all you need to focus on now to get the above result
We all hope the CRS will drop well below 460 soon, and you guys might be lucky to get ITA .

But if you fear that you might not the ielts score above, I advise you be the PA and go for CIMA or BCS as soon as possible, there's a guaranteed 32points from that.)
BTW BCS will close by July 15th, and exam is September.

You're welcome smiley

Congrats on your PPR. Why don't you send an email requesting to submit your passport to the Lindon VO? People have successfully changed visa submission centres in the past. I'd suggest giving it a shot, I think it's better than the Accra headache.
