And if anyone here needs the GRE materials, mostly printable pdf, they can send PM me. I have Manhatan, Gruber, etc on my desktop. BIMestBabe:
Hello. I'll give you this firsthand information. 1. NEVER use Kaplan for GRE maths. It's a no no. Use Manhattan. Download the Manhattan quant series. Not the 10lbs book(past questions) o. The different books that concentrates on the 8 or 9 topics in GRE quant. Work them, understand the questions and tricks.
After, there's a book like that, I've forgotten the name.. (You can pm me, I'll check it out for you). So, get the book and work the qstns. I tell you, if you can do that, you are good to go for quant! You'll blast those questions
For verbal, get, magrosh, and also watch the GRE Manhattan verbal. Watch the videos and practice a lot of questions.
If you can get Manhattan flash cards, that'll be perfect to sharpen your vocabs. Those cards are the best I tell you!! And the words are all over GRE verbal!
You're good to go!! Pls, remember Manhattan is the best for quant oo! Don't use any other. I have them all, so I'm very sure of what I'm saying. All the best. Cheers. 2 Likes |

The reason for picking your program should be both academic and personal, and you have acheieved that with your response here. The reason for picking the school is also well structured, and also personal. I give you 9 over 10 there. HOWEVER, it is one thing to have a well-crafted interview tanscript that portrays you as a genuine student going to the US purely to study and not with the intent to migrate; it is another thing to be able to deliver the transcript confidently and calmly in front of the consular. I can say you have achieved the first, the second is where I am not sure. So, a mock with someone who can asssess you will be ideal. Also, accept your transcript. Let it please you so that you can have confidence in it and yourself. If you are not pleased with what you plan to say, you may fumble during the interview. Take note! As for uncle being your sponsor, I hope you know you're expected to say something about your own personal savings towards this program (especially because you're married with a daughter). Yes, reapply. You don't want to waste the funding. Your reason for switching school is LEGIT, the VO wasn't just pleased. Can you give a run down of your finances? How much is your GTA? How much is left as deficit for your uncle to offset? Okay thanks. GTA: $20,000 Living expenses and misscl: $16,000 (Uncle) |

BenAzie: Thanks guys for this platform. Almost frustrated now. As it stands, I have GTA Position covering my tuition with monthly stipend and my uncle pays the rest.
I am in between decision whether or not to make my 3rd application. Be detailed with your thoughts/suggestions please, whether harshly or kindly provided it passes your message.
Brief: 1st application. I first applied using SJU Spring 2019 and got denied. Here, no funding, my uncle (different surname) had a functional statement of account that I used. I think I was denied here because as part of my sponsor, I put a friend in the US (medical doctor for that matter) which weakened my ties to Nigeria (as I was told later on though)
2nd application. Just 2days ago another denial. I answered all questions well as I often got responsive nodding of the Window 6 woman until I was asked why I changed schools from SJU (as in my previous application) to IUP (in my new application). I never expected that and all I could say was IUP gave a me a GTA as against no funding from SJU. Someone suggested to me to have talked about research and my concentration like that.
3rd application. Do you think I should apply again? If yes, what possible questions should I expect for a third time application?
Many thanks. Help me please, help!!!
NB: all interviews were in Abuja.
Reappply Again. Which of the windows interview you when you went for Spring2019? The slim woman in Window6 like travelling experience.Like you have a B1/B2 VISA with no overstaying your time in the US.He denied a friend of mine twice just by looking at his passport in both cases. Also denied a friend with GA worth $42k. I think research could have been better for a change of school..Did you change course? |

How can a VO deny your friend twice? He didn't know he has right to tell the VO to be interviewed by another. The VO herself apparently didn't know she interviewed him before from what he said ...It was a quick decision.VO interviewed him in 2016. He thought the VO should know and tell him if he would like to be interviewed by another. |

Dearest Predstan, the tech guy my heart beats for I was hoping you would ask me what I really want. Well, it's neither Paris nor Burundi, neither a date night in Dubai or some place really nice, I just want to be where you are. I want to touch those gifted hands capable of programming things to existence I want to see the spark in your eyes as you rave about robots I want to watch you create magic with your fingers crawling all around the keyboard, deafened to the pleas of every key, commanding each to obedience. I just want to watch you get lost in your universe, knowing no matter what happens, you will always come back to me. I want to be your home, your starting point. I want to know what it feels like to be multilingual without apologies. I was thinking we could have Python on anniversaries, christen our kids Java and Fortran. I know I am moving too fast but hey, time flies when you are with a tech guy, right? Predstan, I just want you Ehen! That's because they want to verify the aunthenticity of the financial statements..some applicants use fake statements and say it is owned by their uncle. Some use fake uncles instead. Non-existent Uncle Thanks for the clarification |
