Joebie: I am not writing the team off yet. Complaincancy affected the entire team. The number of changes were too many. The team was overly complaisant. We are better than this. We don't have credible midfield options. Time for Ogu and Mikel to take a bow. We need fresh Supply of young midfielders. Ogu and Balogun were responsible for that defensive error. Nightmarish first half for Balogun. Again, Rohr went to Egypt with surplus in natural wingers. That team doesn't have a natural supporting striker. And so we are condemned to lone striker setup all tournament. I always try not to judge a team with it's performance in its last group game if they had qualified before that game. Onwards, we take the matches as they come. |

What pained me most in this match is how that Madagascar player that scored that freekick was raising shoulder all through the match as if he is C. Ronaldo.... 17 Likes 3 Shares

Of course, our problem is not Ighalo. It has never been Ighalo. But I insist we need an upgrade in that CF dept once this Afcon is done. The Problem is Rohr's understanding of the players' strengths and weaknesses. He lacks the know-how, insight, bravery, inventiveness and Innovativeness on how to mastermind this fine pool of super talents he has gathered and make a Mega-force outta them. Father Tiko and Otto Gloria from ages past will salivate at the plethora of attacking options we have because those guys were attacking masterminds. If Klopp came down to Africa and was asked to coach a team from among Senegal, Egypt or Nigeria. I can bet you he will choose the Super Eagles because it takes a coach like that to see visions of attacking wonders and offensive masterpieces that Nigeria's pool can achieve compared to Senegal's and Egypt's. Mane and Salah may be Klopp's players but Klopp will most likely go for Nigeria because of our wicked offensive deep pool. Rohr lacks this Vision and foresight Klopp and his likes has when it comes to utilizing attacking pools of players. He doesn't know what to do with these talents that is why he always starts the ones that suits his conservative bull crap only getting it right in a few other roles as he doesn't have any choice but to start those ones. Like I told you on my return... I recall I said something akin to.... "I don't know if we would win the Afcon but we have the quality. BUT THE KEYS ARE IN ROHR'S HANDS." I know why I said that. Having all the quality is not what will give us success in Egypt. It is how Rohr handles the quality. Rohr is the man on who our 4th Afcon title hopes rises and falls. Our problem lie in the man, Rohr and his perception of the team. All your points are well noted. Joebie: 10 Likes 3 Shares |

Joebie: I think the Argentina game was his best. He's a good man manager and he's given us some results (qualifying us for AFCON after two missed tournaments, Worldcup with a game to spare...we haven't really needed our calculators with him) but like someone here suggested, he needs a tactician to help him if he's going to stay. He seems to have problems reading the game and making changes. The midfield needs work. Another AM, a DM/CM (Semi Ajayi?) and definitely a goal keeper. We might need another CB although I don't think that is as urgent. I think this should be Mikel and Ogu's last tournament for us; probably Akpeyi as well, Uzoho seems to be struggling. Cohesion is a problem at times. There are days we do really well and some days you just wonder...I admit that the coach has a bigger role to play with player selection than the players. |

I started suspecting Rhor the moment he emphasized hold up play. We have pacy players we should rely more on quick passing and not hold up play. Our strength is in attack but unfortunately our coach does not believe in what he has. 3 Likes 1 Share |
