My sister Just carry yourself come Kebbi. The state is peaceful and there is steady power supply except for when rain and Nepa Quarrel. On average they get about 18 hours light. Accommodation is quite affordable. with 70k you would get a self contain with water. All the best. Need i mention the standard is on the low side here.

Come to Osogbo, powerline area, I stay there, in fact, just relocated in January from Abuja, at powerline, we have electricity, 24 hours per day, guaranteed. If they take light, it's either there is fault with the transformer, which rarely happens, power grid failure, or rain. The house where I stay is a one bedroom apartment (room & parlour) self contained, it's 120k. Good road network, water, security. There are other areas where you can get cheaper houses, but their light is not as good as powerline, like 20 hours light per day.

This is so true. I witnessed it when I came to Nigeria and visited my sister that lives in Onitsha.
JubrilBuhari:

Onitsha is a cheap, very conducive town with pretty impressive electricity.

Try Onitsha.

Good day guys,
I work online as a freelancer on fiverr. I'm currently seeking a cheap town or place in Nigeria that I can get good supply of electricity (at least $12 hours or more). This is to enable me do online jobs and cut cost of buying petrol.
I would prefer somewhere cheap where I can get a decent self contain accommodation for around 70k. Also, I would like a place that has good security.

There's an old thread similar to this opened by a freelancer a few years ago but sadly I can't find it.

Please give me suggestions. I hear oshogbo is good choice.

Any other suggestions? Be as specific as possible. Thanks.

Ajaokuta kogi State.

Where in Ibadan

I think Comrade Adams Oshomole's village 'Iyamho' in Edo state is your best bet. There, you get steady electricity for days without a blink, because a major Powerline was stepped down at that axis. At times, u are even tempted to wonder whether you are still in Naija. I assure you..that concerning constant electricity and security, IYAMHO is a place to stay. Also, houses are cheap there. It's also a University town, and the area is fast developing. If you are really serious about ur post, then consider that area.

Just saw where stated you are from Bayelsa so you wouldn't be far from home. Omuko in Rivers State is your best bet. At least 24 hours free power supply courtesy of Agip and other oil companies exploring gas in the community. Lot's of cool spots too..

You're from the Niger-Delta so you should already be familiar with the security issues down there. Houses are dead cheap too.

My friend is from the town and is a landlord. As in the guy get plenty cribs thanks to his parents.

The only problem with Bonny island is that it's not cheap. But for electricity it makes the other places people are calling here a joke.

As a freelancer you need just your laptop and phone no?

A small solar inverter should do it.
