The District Head of Daura and President Muhammadu Buhari’s hometown, Musa Uba, has regained his freedom after over sixty days in the captive of his kidnappers.

The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, in the early hours of Tuesday confirmed the release of the District head (Magajin Garin Daura).

SP Isah said: "Magajin Garin Daura has been rescued. Congratulations to the entire people of Daura and Katsina state in general.”

The Magajin Gari, Musa was kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 in front of his house in Daura after observing the evening prayer (Magrib) and taken to an unknown destination.

Musa, an ex-comptroller of the Nigeria Custom Service, is married to the neice of President Muhammadu Buhari and his daughter is married to the ADC of President Buhari.

He is also a younger brother to the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Farooq Umar.

That the District head of Daura, the unofficial capital of Nigeria could be kidnapped is a symbol of the insecurity level in our country. He is the head of the President's town. This is a wake up call otherwise one day we may wake up to hear that Aso Rock has been kidnapped We bless God for the successful release of the monarch.

The government needs to do more for our security officers. Many of them are eager to serve, ready to commit their all but the system is bad and their working conditions are killing their morale instead of boosting it. Please my fellow Nigerians, any time you have an encounter with our security forces, especially police, please treat them nicely and with respect. You don't know the terrible things they pass through, suffer and endure just to do their job of keeping our society safe to live in. They are not perfect because of some bad eggs but overall they are trying and should be appreciated. If we all learn how to treat them well every chance we have an encounter with them it will boost their morale and change their orientation of how they interact with citizens with compassion, not wickedness. We can make a change. Treat every security personnel the same way you will treat yourself.
