Crystal Palace have been left incensed by Arsenal's
approach to sign Ivory Coast winger Wilfried Zaha.

The Gunners have offered £40m, which will not even be considered.

Palace value Zaha at around £80m and are furious with Arsenal for what they believe to be a ham-fisted attempt to destabilise the Ivorian and secure a cut-price deal.

They would expect a drastically higher fee than the £50m Manchester United paid them for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaka is a 21-year-old right-back with limited experience and no international caps; Zaha is a 26-year-old winger with vast experience and a full international.

Zaha signed a new five-year contract last summer, which recognised his importance to the team and club by making him by far the highest-paid player in Palace history.

Given the player had been keen to leave at that point, the agreement was reached on the basis that the Eagles had not received any credible offers and the understanding that if the situation changed in the future they would let him leave.

Palace's stance on that has not altered - they will reluctantly sanction Zaha's departure if the price is right, but they do not view Arsenal's bid as credible.

A key issue for Palace is the sell-on clause inserted into Zaha's contract when he returned to south London from Manchester United for around £6m in 2015, which entitles the Red Devils to 25% of any profit if Zaha exits Selhurst Park.

Although Zaha's brother has publicly pleaded with Palace to reach an agreement with Arsenal, in order for the winger to "realise his dream of playing European football for the club he has supported since childhood" - the Eagles are unmoved.
Palace believe Arsenal's method in this case is outdated and naive.

They have no intention of lowering their valuation and are confident that Zaha's relationship with the club is long-standing and strong enough to ensure he resumes his duties without a problem if a move does not come to fruition.

Arsenal should not be a football club. Why are they always offering to sign a player for £40m or less? Always wooing porokulowo e players.

Little wonder they can't even make top 4 with their quality of players grin.

40mil hahahhaaha

This reminds me when Arsenal was pursuing Suarez.

They told arsenal that his official price is £40,000,000 so Arsenal should add something on top

Arsenal went to add £1 on top.

Not £1m o I mean £1. So if the deal had gone through it would have been £40,000,001.

Arsenal is almost a comical club when it comes to transfer

Arsenal Fans should see clearly Wenger isn't the cause of their trophyless season but the Board.Currently you don't bid trash for a teams best player. Wingers are currently out of stock in the market and some teams can't even release their attacker. If truly Arsenal is ready for a challenge they should buy good players worth the price or kindly stop behaving like a woman who is pricing salt at the market when she actually knows the price.

Zaha can't go less than 60million and if interested team comes now baba will disappear. Had it been Chelsea, Man city had no transfer ban stuff the guy would have been off to these clubs. Look at Madrid bought Luka Jovic for 54plus...a guy of one season and Zaha has proven his worth more than two seasons. I think Arsenal isn't ready for a trophy and all they did was to get one 18yrs old boy from Brazil that would soon have Injury.

Last season they suffered due to bad defenders,Midfielders and no winger. No Club will ever succeed if you don't have this.
Tottenham just got Ndolombele and keep searching for more when they Sold Mousa Dembele to China. Now they have gotten replacement.
Arsenal Lost Carzola,Ramsey, Wilshere,Couqiline and Sanchez yet no replacement and we feel that's okay.

Arsenal is just a joke and the funniest thing their fans will still buy season tickets and be happy. I wish the useless club dey Nigeria no single being will ever near the stadium talk more of buying ticket.

Arsenal is one funny club!

They are not serious... How will a big club be having a £45m transfer budget in 2019?

They should stick to bidding for their £2-3m players from lowly leagues grin

I'm sure they will even want to bid £17m for Gareth Bale and also take Asensio free shocked shocked

Still having the parsimonious nature of Wenger. You need to spend money to win trophies. Examples abound of such these days or go the route of Ajax by grooming top class players. However, patience is virtue in that scenario.

This tells you that it's the Club's policy and not Wenger's. Any coach they employ must agree to those terms. undecided
