This cracked me up. Ortega is actually a popular Brazilian and Portugese name. In Nigeria, the name is actually Otega, without the 'r', and its an Urhobo name. So it was probably a Portugese guy who works there that signed for it. And others have said the same name received their documents. Uni-assist is at its busiest right now hence the lack of updates but they are definitely working on it. You can always call their direct line if you want to confirm it's arrived. My people i had my interview today. Forgive my summarized transcript oh I can't really remember everything exactly.

I got to the embassy around 5.30am. Later others arrived. I was the only one there apart frm the security guys.
They checked appointment letters and stamped on it around 6.30. Paulinus arrived around 7am and started calling us in.
I was first on the queue. And as he called, I arranged my documents. Original then photocopy, photocopy. After that was the security check before proceeding to the interview area
Waited for some tym before I was call into counter 3.
VO went tru my documents, gave me forms to sign and asked me basic questions lyk
Wat is the name of your skul?
Master or bachelors?
What is the name of ur course?
What is the topic of your undergraduates thesis?
Title of ur bachelor's degree program?
Why Germany?
Why not Nigeria, us, Canada or any English speaking countries?
Why this course?
What do you intend to do after your program?
Who is sponsoring you?
What do you know about Germany?
What do you know about the German economy?
What do you know about the German political system?

Basically it was more of a conversation than an interview...tnk God

These are the things any prospective student should put into consideration before choosing a school. You cannot compare the cost of living in Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf etc. with some cities in Bavaria. My little advice!

Golden academic advise to prospective Nigerian student coming over to study from lmuhopeful

You need to understand why you want to come here. It's not about just leaving Nigeria or doing an MSc. If one just needs an MSc the UK may be better as it's easy to pass there. It's very hard to succeed here and a lot of hard work is needed. Example, 20 students from the previous set of my masters started the program and only 4 graduated. The remaining 16 were either expelled due to bad grades or left coz it was difficult. So I advice to be fully sure of your abilities and not see a German msc admission as a ticket out of Naija.

The last rejection they slammed me with, the reason was flimsy and funny..... YOUR DOCUMENTS ARE INCOMPLETE.

Imagine, if my documents are incomplete, why not ask me to send the missing one just like other schools do??
