Bia, University of Koblenz-Landau students, applicants and faithfuls, put mouth for this matter oo

I have sent and enquiry mail to the school for over a week now, but they are yet to respond.

Na so dem dey do??

The first time i sent them an email (MMCS) in March, i didn't get a reply for over a month. I sent another one to the International Office in April & i got a response after 2 weeks. I guess you just have to be patient as this is a busy time for Schools generally.

The money I spent applying to that school seems like a waste to me.

The last rejection they slammed me with, the reason was flimsy and funny..... YOUR DOCUMENTS ARE INCOMPLETE.

Imagine, if my documents are incomplete, why not ask me to send the missing one just like other schools do??
Haba bro... Na you no do d needful. Naso dem dey usually do but not b rejection per say... U for mail dem to ask if you could resend the missing dox.. At least I m doing same ATM... Dem no reject you but Dey simply no process ur application cos of incomplete dox... N I blv that's the standing rule for most schools over there..

This Category thing is not of benefit to alot of people. Especially person like me in Cat B waiting for appointment date for the past 1 month and a week plus... It is about time to consider other options.

Las Las we go dey alright my people!

Good afternoon good people. Having gone through the posts, I'm about to start preparations for next year's summer (March) semester seeing as I'm late for 2019 winter.

I'm starting the process from scratch i.e. Toefl, transcript request etc.

Can anybody please help me with an estimate of the total amount I should expect to soend throughout the application process?

I kniw toefl is 72k, transcript request is about 35k but beyond those, I have no idea of how much I might need.

I'm asking because I'd like to know what I'm getting into and how much I need to put aside.

Thanks in advance.

TOEFL = #72,000

Transcript request = #35,000

Uniassit charges = €75 (one time ) + €30 for every additional application.

Delivery services (UPS, FEDEX, DHL etc) - this depends on the courier company you use. Just save #30,000 for that

Legalization of documents = #2000 - #3000

Blocked account = 8640 + some charges.. Also this depends on the bank you use.. Coracle, fintiba, xpario and deutsche bank.

Visa = #30k plus

Travel health insurance = this depends on the insurance company... Mansard is around 17,000 - 23,000 (I don't know the exact amount)

Total amount is #203,000 excluding uniassit charges and blocked account money

Hadampson has already given a good answer, let me add extra
- write IELTS instead of TOEFL, it's also accepted in Europe, it's cheaper (I paid 68k with MOD) and it's easier (I know a lot of people who have written both and they say IELTS is easier) and less tasking (IELTS is 2 hours 45 minutes while TOEL is 4hours). Just know the minimum band score the schools you're applying to requires and target a bit higher.
- Different schools have different application process. Go on daad.de, search your course and the schools that offer. Use the advanced search filter and tick "summer semester" because many schools only offer certain courses in winter semester.
- Once you've found the schools, find out the application process. This will help you plan your budget. Some schools require uniassist, some you apply directly.
- if you don't have international passport, please get one immediately. NIS have not been friendly recently.
I hope this helps.

Thank you very much.

I'm applying via the sponsorship letter route though. But I believe the total estimate should still fall within your 203k estimate, regardless.

Thanks a lot for your time and contribution. I really appreciate it.

Thank you, Sassy. The school I'm applying to require that all applications be made via uni-assist. And the course I intend to apply for is on offer for both winter and summer semester.

I really appreciate your point about ielts and toefl. I'd tried googling it but couldn't anything definite about which would be ideal for me. I'll definitely reconsider my choice of toefl.
Thanks a lot.

P.S: International passport is on-standby already... because it's naija and you never know when grin grin grin
