changing to uncle SOA won't make any difference, you already been denied twice with dad SOA and now you want to change to uncle SOA, you will look desperate, VO knows education in America is not cheap, you have to show you can afford it. Your reasons might be reasonable but VO won't understand, your uncle should deposit the funds in your dads account(this should have been done earlier), to make up for your deficit, you will be better that way.

Deficit; $46k
Last year, Dad SOA was little above deficit and which I think was reason for my denial.
I discussed my ordeal with my uncle (maternal, different surname) and has agreed to sponsor me.
Preparing for my next interview, if asked Why is your uncle sponsoring you? Am yet to come up with a convincing response.
I would appreciate suggestions.

go with both statements, if VO needs proof of funds VO will ask for SOA then you can present both, fiancee is not a strong home tie
Tohajan:
Good day, everyone

Pls I have some questions...

1) I have my sponsor's bank statement. But I also intend going with my own bank statement too. At what point do I mention or present my own bank statement since the VO usually ask for only the sponsor's bank statement.

2) Is mentioning that one has a fiancée a proof of strong home tie?

No profile, no transcripts of denial and you want people to predict your chances of approval on next trial SMH, go on dry fasting and prayer dates will open up, and you will be approved IJN cheesy

Kalkaothar:
Hello guys!
I'm new here, please help with clarifications and advise on the following.
I was denied a U.S Student visa at the Lagos Embassy on the 20th of June. School starts August 20 and classes start August 26. I am considering reapplying.
Here are my questions;
Will I be able to use emergency booking and I if I am, who has an idea on the nearest available EMERGENCY date in Lagos?
Someone said since I was denied in Lagos, I should still reapply in Lagos, what do you think?
What are the chances for getting my visa approved if I reapply a second time after 2weeks of denial?

Thanks in anticipation of your response. Kindly advice on other informations I might need.

Thanks soo much for the advice.
Gracias

Be sincere.

Tell the VO that your uncle is willing to foot the bills because he sees how important this is to your goals in life(?). And maybe because he saw that your dad may not be able to afford it, he wants to come through to help the family. Ultimately, you should be able to convince the VO that your uncle is doing what he is doing out of his love for you. No strings attached. If you can get him to write a letter to that effect, that would also be nice.

You will be fine. Good luck.

@blackmamba147, @Johnolukolade... Any observation(s) on my proposed transcript, please? Thanks in advance

Tohajan:

Good day everyone. Kindly help scrutinize my Proposed Interview Transcript.

@fairheart, @AgreatMan, @Predstan, @Shawarma, @dreambound and EVERYONE pls.

Your observations (constructive or otherwise) are highly welcome pls.

MY PROFILE
CGPA - 4.40/5.00
GRE - 308 (Q-153, V-155), AWA: 3.0
TOEFL - 98
Deficit after assistantship - less than $10k

Where are you going to?
I'm going to New Mexico State University, Las Cruces to pursue a Masters in Public Health (with special interest in Environmental Health).

Why the US?
I chose to study in the US because schools in the US are top class and well known for their world class research facilities. Also, a masters degree from an American University is highly recognized in Nigeria, and thus will give me an edge in the highly competitive Nigerian labor market.

How did you know about the school?
Through personal research using online resources and taking my academic profile into consideration.

How many schools did u apply to?
Two - New Mexico State University and Michigan Technological University.

How many admission did u get?
Two

Why this school over MTU?
NMSU's program aligns more with my interest due to its multidisciplinary approach to analyzing environmental/public health issues as reflected in its course requirements.
Also, the admission from MTU is without funding while NMSU gave me an assistantship which covers the full tuition and part of the living expenses.

But you have a BSc in Applied Botany?
Yes... Environmental Botany, more precisely, which required that I take some courses on Environmental Pollution Monitoring. These courses motivated me to pursue a career in environmental health where I would be able to influence decision-making in the environmental sector as it affects public health.

When did you graduate?
Late 2017.

What have you been doing since then?
I went for the compulsory one year national service which I finished March this year. On my return, I have been working as a research assistant with one of my lecturers in undergraduate, Dr ****. My role is to carry out environmental audit on Telecommunication Base Station (TBS) sites, in order to access the effect of emissions from each site on the surrounding locality.

Tell me your study plans
Throughout the program, I will be taking courses with a minimum of 42 credit units in total.
It also includes a field experience, at the end of the second semester, which will fortify me with the ability to apply classroom learning to real world problems and solutions.
Some of the courses I will be taking are Environmental Public Health Issues, Biostatistical Applications in Public Health, and Evaluative Approaches in Public Health.

What will this program do for you/what are your plans after graduation?
By the end of the program, I would have acquired the necessary skills needed to critically analyze environmental health risks and proffer solution to same, thus enabling me to take up a job, as an environmental health specialist, with the Environmental Quality Control unit of National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) L, back here in Nigeria.

Any standardized test?
Yes. I wrote GRE and TOEFL, scoring 308 and 98 respectively.

Who is sponsoring you?
I have an assistantship which covers tuition and some other expenses. The rest is to be taken care of by my uncle, Mr ****

What does he do?
He works with the Lagos State Government where he heads the *** unit of **** LGA. He also has his own personal business.

Why would your uncle want to sponsor you?
He also had his masters abroad, in the UK, and has since returned to make an impact in the country. This strengthens his support of my plan to study overseas to enhance my career and he has been sponsoring me even long before now.

What about changing schools to a cheaper school... that deficit is a lot if you really cannot afford it and if funding does come... then What? out of status . This is not a time to be out of status in the USA

So with that high value, any Vo will be looking closely at affordability and the higher the value, then your parents become the more credible sponsor

8 business day??. Well av been on AP since June 3. That's about 23 working days now... I guess we should just be hopeful and positive, they would have denied you since if you had a fraudulent or unacceptable bank statemnt, my guess is that they're doing some other background check, start checking for flights like I have started... Congrats in advance to my fellow AP status students(excluding the ones that submitted fake statement o)

@sharwama please I need your help, how can I get to you. Here is my e-mail georgekingsleyumeh@gmail.com or number 07015987294

sharwama:
FOR THE ONES WHO GOT DENIED
It's a beautiful Sunday, the start of a brand new week and the last day in June 2019. We had lots of visa approvals this month and reasons to be grateful. Sadly, we equally had denials and now I am concerned about the latter.
So this one's for all who got denied recently, contemplating and probably getting ready to refire, this one's for all the ones wondering why the VO didn't give them a chance to speak, to explain, this one's for all who forgot a particular document and got sent away, this one's for the ones who froze at the sight of the VO, became blank and couldn't utter meaningful sentences, this one's for all those wondering if they can make it in the next attempt, this one's for all those who have cried their eyes out and no longer have tears to shed, for the ones who have screamed so hard and have lost their voices, this one's for the ones who have been snatched by the piercing claws of depression, who have been pulled into the darkness and their lungs gasping for air that isn't forthcoming, this one's for all those wondering what exactly went wrong, this one's for the ones questioning God and wondering why He let this happen, I mean where is God when bad things like visa denials happen!
Breathe. Please, just breathe for me. I see you, I hear you and I can't imagine what you have been through especially because you have poured yourself into the entire process, but I do know these:
The fire of rejection wasn't lit to burn you, it was meant to purify and fortify you, to get rid of parts you thought you needed but never really did, to increase your hunger for greatness, to push you to do better and BE better, to question your intentions, how badly do you want this? Why do you want this?
I strongly believe that in life there are a lot of doors that are shut to us, and if we truly want in, we have to be consistently brave enough to keep knocking and be sure we are knocking the right way, the right time and on the right doors.
If you truly want this, if you are genuine, if you are truly worthy, if you believe you deserve this visa, then you really are and you really do . You will not go down without a fight, the entire universe is waiting for the manifestation of your gifts, waiting to see you rise from the ashes and give the loudest roar. This is your moment, take it. The glory of the latter shall be greater than the former.
May the force be with you!
