Generating one single bitcoin is not that easy...it takes a LOT of energy and computer processing power to mine for bitcoin.

Miners are essentially rewarded in bitcoin when they solve a transaction problem by getting their computer to "guess" the right answer to the problem. The first miner to guess the right solution wins. After this solution is validated it becomes part of the blockchain and the open ledger is updated to reflect this new addition to the chain. Everyone then moves over to the next transaction problem to solve.

The more miners are involved, the more difficult and expensive it is. It was deliberately structured this way to help control supply

The blockchain protocol validates transactions that are legitimate so the issue of hiding behind proxies won't apply.

With bitcoin, you don't have to worry about inflation as it's the first currency that can truly stake a valid claim as being scarce since there's a limited supply. Once we get to 21 million bitcoins in circulation that's it.

This is the reason why some people believe the price of 1 bitcoin will eventually exceed $1million. Once we max out supply, demand will carry more weight

The below video will help you understand more about it.

What happens if that solution is cracked in future at ease because of advancement.

What happens if that solution is cracked in future at ease because of advancement.

The more people you have mining bitcoin the less bitcoin reward is given. Think of it like 6 people trying to squeeze into the back seat of a 4 seater car. It doesn't matter the technological advancement in cars, as long as the back seat can comfortably take only 4 people, trying to accommodate more than that will make things uncomfortable for everyone.

No doubt technological advancements will create more powerful computers capable of doing more difficult computations easily and that will lead to more people trying to mine bitcoin - but that doesn't change the fact that the more ppl try to mine it, the less financially rewarding it is.

Besides, Bitcoin currently has about 17-18 million in circulation and we're gradually approaching the 21 mil cap. Mining is a lot more expensive today compared to 5 years ago for example. That trend will most likely continue.

To the house, sorry for digressing. Let's get back to TB

There's no need to attack him. He said he's a novice and would like people to help him (and others) clear some grey areas.

@Barrytone, I'm not an expert on Bitcoin but from what I understand

1. There's a finite supply of Bitcoin (About 21 million)
2. The very nature of it means it can't be regulated

The price is currently very erratic because there's a limited supply and it's highly sensitive to supply and demand.

Bitcoin is currently less than 10% of my investment portfolio so I'm not that exposed to it..helps me stay emotionally neutral during these erratic swings.

Crypt: someone said the coin is scarce that's why price is up and I ask, who mint the coins. Who regulates it. Who tells him to stop printing. A day will come like mmm when everybody will have crypt and there will be no buyer. What will happen? When can I buy with those coins in Alaba or ladipo. Can I buy cement with it.
Am a novice and will like us to clear some grey area here to educate novices like me. I reiterate, I don't like too much money. One thing at a time, crypto to the left, we are tbillers.

Only put an amount you can afford to lose in crypto, crypto has its up and down and subject to manipulation. The profit might be sweet, but also note that you can lose money in that high magnitude too, because in crypto, someone's loss is another person's profit and vice versa.

IS THIS A GOOD NEWS FOR TBILLS INVESTORS

Sharp response: One of the questions he was asked was why banks are not lending to the private sector. In response to this, he claimed that the CBN was taking the issue seriously and was working on a piece of regulation that would restrict bank investments in risk-free government instruments. According to reports from some of the attendees at the event, the Governor said CBN would aggressively refocus banks to lend and is currently working on regulations that would restrict banks’ participation in zero risk instruments.
If these assertions are true, it means the CBN will issue a policy that will stop banks from investing customer deposits in risk-free instruments like Treasury Bills and FGN Bonds.
He also claimed that the regulations would be out in two weeks and that the decision to issue it was from the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). The implication of this is that demand will reduce and interest rates for Treasury Bills could rise with banks out of the risk-free fixed income market.

It seems the bank reinvested your interest. Go to your bank and request for your tbills certificate to confirm.
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 8:14am On Jul 04, 2019
Once you are in doubt of your entitlement, approach the bank and certificate of that transactions then we can say if you got your dues. So many things are in play. Was the money reinvested, what tenor where you given and what rate were you given. Use the formula ''s. I. = principal multiply by rate multiply by time.
Principal is 1.2m
Time = number of days divided by 364
Rate = % that you got divided by 100.
Thanks

Something is definitely wrong, let's assume 10% interest for 1.2 m, you get 1.2 x 0.1 = 120k per year. For 182 days you have 120 x 182 / 365 = 59.8k. You are supposed to get around 59.8k . You have to go back to your bank and demand for clarification.

Another thing, be super careful while filling the form they give you, any mistake will affect your tbills terms.
