Please has anyone gotten any AL from FSU JENA AND FAU Erlangen-Nurnberg.... Am worried if am alone on this wait?
My advice for you is don’t depend on FAU admission for visa processing, I repeat don’t depend on FAU admission for visa processing(unless your application deadline is very early; maybe March-April, most of their winter application deadline is July 15).They give rejection easily, even when they want to give admission, it’s usually after application deadline and they don’t defer. I got admission in summer on the (normal)enrollment deadline date but gave me 4 weeks extension, I replied that was not going to be enough for visa processing. I was told to reapply in winter with my documents and summer admission letter, I have done that (because I like the course), I have not been given winter admission o.
I’m continuing with my visa processing with other AL while still expecting from them.
The school get kolo truly o but I still like it sha

I haven't come across any information about Hamm-lippstadt but don't worry, once i have any information about the city, i will mention you on the other thread smiley

Ohh!!,Thanks would be looking forward to that

What do you want to know?

it's not a big city. But the state which Lippstadt lives in is one of the best state to study in. the semester ticket can take you round the whole state plus upto cities like kassel and hannover.

Okay, but hope the cost of living isn't expensive and ,accessibility to things isn't that difficult and lastly hope it isn't a core German speaking city smiley. Thank you

Of all the apps I downloaded, Duolingo and Wordbit German really stood out, well for me.

[quote author=sleekch1c post=79952780]
If you’re learning German through that Duolingo app, I’m pleased to announce that it is pure crap grin
Waste of time.
Unless all you want to learn is good morning and goodnight. Please use YouTube and some free literatures online.
Thanks for the heads up

My brother it's really not easy, most of those who crossed still have the thread at heart but no time.

Germany no be Yankee or Jand. Most of us faced that confused state the first day/weeks of class. And it restarts your whole system.
It takes some ppl weeks and others even years to settle. ( in terms of the right course and school. So ppl keep changing schools and courses, na that person you want to come say HI for here) So dont take it that way.

No be beans for here.
Las Las it will end in praise

More blessing....

You are so spot-on. The country formats ur brain and time ..lol..time is of essence here.

In general cost of living is usually same except for rent and semester ticket. NRW isn't that affordable when it comes to accommodation and semester ticket. The good news is what you loose in accommodation you gain from touring the entire state.

You can't compare NRW to places like Schleswig-Holstein (kiel to be precise). the semester ticket in kiel is 115( for FH-kiel) and u can get a 2 person WG for 170euros pro monate (last i paid in kiel was 194euros ). be guided there are more expensive ones. u can switch if u re on a low budget after some months.

There are little or no professional jobs in lippstadt/Paderborn and most require good german skills. NRW is the biggest state in Germany. Most people speak good german in the west. there is a local airport there too.

You will be fine, there are student jobs to pull you through during the course of studying.

[quote author=Obinnafrancis post=79843522]MY TRANSCRIPT:

So I had my interview today July 1, 2019. Got to the embassy by 5:29am met one person but he was for Short term visa. So I was number one on the queue for Student visa. Paulinus then started calling....I attached all my photocopies at the back of the originals to make them easy to access....thanks to Nairaland and my brother that told me about this arrangement (NB: Don't staple them pls, use office pin holders to hold them). So I didn't have any wahala at all with oga paulinus.
Oga paulinus first checked in the short term visa people. They were 5 in number.
I was now told to go in for the interview. But before I went in for my interview , we were around 8 Students on the queue. Fast forward to me and Vo;

Me: Good morning
Vo: what are u here for?
Me: Student visa
Vo: Let me have all your documents
Me: Alright ma. Everything?
Vo: Yes
Me: (I gave her all apart from photo passports)
Vo: Can I have your passport?
Me : It's there with the documents (pointing to my International passport on her table)
Vo: No, I mean photo passport
Me: oh...I gave her 4, she returned back 2 apart from the one stapled on the form.
Vo: you are going for bachelors degree?
Me: yes ma
Vo: Have u not had your bachelors before?
Me: I have
Vo: Y another bachelor?
Me: I chose to do my second bachelor because of change in my career path. I currently own a startup business and this degree will increase my specialization in the chosen career and help me become an expert in the field. Again it will help me to run my company more confidently and professionally.
Vo: ok
Vo: Your email is.........(printed 2papers and gave me; confirm your data and sign)
Me: yes they are all correct ( then I signed on both)
Vo: put your 4fingers, right hand first and then your left hand
Mesad placed as requested)
Vo: Can i have your visa fee?
Me: (I gave her, she then counted and gave me a receipt of payment)
Vo: Alright. Lets start the interview now.
Me: ( for my mind nawaa oo...so interview never even started before!) Ok ma
Vo: oh you have funded?
Me: yes ma
Vo: which school are you going to?
Me: Trier University of Applied Sciences, Umwelt-campus Birkenfeld (NB: I was slow because she was typing what I was answering)
Vo: Umwelt-campus?
Me: yes ma.... that's Environmental campus in English
Vo: Course?
Me: Sustainable Business and Technology (bsc)
Vo: Why this course?
Me: this course will help me to build my business management and technological skills to enable me run my startup confidently, effectively and professionally.
Vo: Is the course in English?
Me: Yes it's taught completely in English
Vo: Do u speak German?
Me: No I don't.
Vo: What do u do?
Me: I own a startup business (I called the name and said I have my website and I have got it registered)
Vo: what is the company all about?
Me: it's an on-demand home services technology startup that connects individuals, homeowners and companies to their professional skilled workers.
Vo: Have u been to Germany before?
Me: No ma
Vo: Do u know anyone in Germany?
Me: No ma
Vo: Have u applied for German visa before?
Me: No ma
Vo: Have u applied for visa at all before?
Me: yes ma(Poland). Some years back.
Vo: ok
Vo: why Germany?
Me: Higher education in Germany is among the best in the world(Then light went off, she said I should pause. After like 30seconds, light returned and she said ok continue). Universities in Germany are tuition free which is extended to us the international students. Also Germany is among the safest country to study for international students and I will also have the opportunity to learn a second language which is German and interact with other International Students.
Vo: Why not Nigeria?
Me: This kind of course that combines Business and Technology isn't obtainable in Nigeria. Secondly, we do more of theoritical learning than practical training so it won't help me to expertise in this field.
Vo: why not Uk, Canada or USA?
Me: Their tuition fees are very expensive. I can't afford it.
Vo: what do u know about Germany?
Me: Germany is located in central and Western Europe and it's capital is in Berlin. Germany is boarded by 9countries. Coming from North u have Denmark, down in the south u have Austria and Swiss, to the East u have Poland and Czech , from the West u have Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands, if you go down a bit at the south-west u have France (She was nodding her head; mind you I was using this North, south, East, west something to kill time small...lolz but all were very correct and I was saying them slowly). The German president is Frank Walter- Steinmeier and he is the head of state charged with representative responsibilities and power. The chancellor is Angela Dorothea Merkel, the head of government, charged with responsibility of discharging her executive duties through her cabinet. Coming down to the legislative; u have bundesrat headed by Daniel Gunther as the president and Bundestag u have Wolfgang Schauble as the president that oversees the daily session of the house. The reunification of Germany was on October 3 1990(she kept nodding her head). Berlin has the largest train station and Frankfurt has the 4th busiest airport in Europe(at this point my head couldn't remember anything. she said continue. I then said German chancellor office in Berlin is known locally as "Washing machine". Vo said what ? I repeated it but this time in a very low tone. She said don't say what you are not sure of. I come say sorry ma with small smiles and then I scratched my head). Immediately football entered my head and I began to flow once more... Germany have won world cup 4times...1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014. They have also hosted it twice..1974 and 2006. The Euro.....she then said it's ok.
Vo: So what's next after your studies?
Me: I will proceed for my master degree to be grounded in business and Technology. After which I will come back to Nigeria to re-establish my company professionally.
Vo: Alright that will be all .
Me: Thank you ma(I wanted to leave then I returned back, please ma can I ask a question)?
Vo: yes you are free.
Me: please I don't know my fate regarding this interview because am thinking of getting enrolled for German class .
Vo: for me u performed well in your interview but the decision is not only mine but anyway u can go ahead and enroll.
Me: Thank you very much ma.

Security people come dey tap me for small choppings as I dey leave, finally I dropped small tin for them. They tried for me anyway.
NB: I came out from the interview room around 7:45am. When I came out, the Students that were outside should be around 30. Though some might be for Certification. By my own calculation, I spent around 30 to 35mins with the Vo and I was interviewed by the lady in Room 2( Her style of hair be like dreadlock). To be sincere, she was very nice and friendly.
*On a lighter note...I no sleep last night...went to bed by 11:45pm and I set alarm for 3am on my 2phones(imagine). U know all these witch people fit remember person on a day like dis. Anyway they no see me shaa. Na so Lagos people dey suffer rain? It dealt with me shaa. Lagos una good morning! Make I do leave una.
Una welldone oo. Na so my interview waka take go.

Congratulations.

Please, Can one book an appointment under the two CAT A & B?
I booked for an appointment under CAT B since May for an MSc program ( NOT TUITION FREE) but no date till now. Recently got a BSc AL from Hamm-Lippstadt and I was wondering if I can book another appointment for BSc without cancelling the previous one I have booked as I am still expecting to get a Tuition free MSc AL.

Someone should please answer me.

Hello bro, please how is paderborn like in terms of living standards and work opportunities. I got admitted to study MSC computer science there

Great school. living standards is normal. To be honest the work opportunities are limited as its a very small city. No tram. No ubahn. No s-bahn ..lol.. i don't mean to scare you or give you a fright. Grace differs and can stand you out, But in our field of Technology it doesn't matter where we see ourselves, what matters is where we see ourselves in the future. I am living testimony. I didnt study in a big city but i ended up in big cities. My advice to all:

1. concentrate on ur studies first as soon as u land. If possible finish your core courses before u start working your ass-off. I did same it paid off.I finished all my core courses in zwei semester. third semester i moved to bayern for my internship and also finished my research project there. fourth semester i switched to DHL hqtrs in bonn from Adidas Hqtrs in Bayern and there i wrote my thesis.
Fifth semester ! there was no fifth semester..lol.. By fifth semester i am already working professionally.

This is just to inspire someone that it doesn't cost'a thing to look at the brighter side of life. SmartWork will always pay off at the end.

The city you study in should not deter you from achieving your goals. I hope i have inspired someone this morning

Other trivial ones include:
2. Learn how to cook before coming here. You shall get tired of Pizza and Fries..lol.. If you can't cook. Youtube is your friend.

3. learn how to ride a car and bicycle. convert the license to german version before the end of six months. Don't do the same mistake I did. there are so much benefits when it comes to having one even biz-wise.

I wish i can rewrite the entire NL portal..lol.. )

Good morning bro, if I understood ur question pretty well, u applied for cat B while u going for masters....
There are requirements and criteria to be met for several categories.
I think that since u going for MSC and u obtained 2.2 and above in your degree, the right category for u I A and not B.

Secondly I will advise you do the needful if you ve applied to the wrong category.

Okay so I just had the sweetest Interview ever.

I was interviewed by the visa officer in room 4. A black really nice guy!

So I got to the embassy at 5:40am waited until 6:30am before Paulinus came. As soon as he came you’d know he’s the one immediately. His opening line was “it seems this people are not ready to stand on the cue. On the cue was a guy going to the same school as I am, Bachelor’s. So we got acquainted and started reviewing interview questions including the mayor of our town and population of my city. This two guys came from no where and said they were previously on the queue since 4am so they must be first. (There’s no first anywhere so just enjoy). Until one forgot his appointment print out and had to go reprint.

Paulinusattended to short stay visa first then us. The man be wan show himself for my side when he asked for certificate I placed my transcripts instead. He said i should remove it, later came again and asked why have I not put my university information, does he want me to send me to the back of the line? I just Jejely put it back. (I was just praying).

I cleared him, kept my phone with the security guys and entered. Followed the green line to the waiting room. I just sat down and was requestioning all the visa questions in my head.

I won’t lie to you I was pressured, really pressured and when I was ushered into room 4, I could barely hear the guy through the glass and kept asking him to repeat everything until he probably noticed my pressured self and smiled at me. I felt really calm and took a deep breathe.

Now he looked at my application form and I had accidentally wrote my city instead of my state and he nicely asked me to correct it. Gave me the form to sign for incomplete transfer amount. (I partly funded). We know some people would like to help but please let’s apply wisdom. I asked a question about what fintiba documents to submit Transfer documents or opening confirmation and someone said opening confirmation. Please and please if you are not sure don’t answer because thankfully if not I had a nice VO, He painstakingly showed explained and went to bring a transfer Information document to show me what it looks like. Gave me a form and Instructed i submitted at the gate(paulinus) before 10am.

Why checking my documents he asked me what school my name course? I told him Industrial Engineering, he asked what about it he Maintenance and operation attached I said yeah there are types of industrial engineering. (production) and maintenance and operation. Explained what the later is.

Interview proper.
Do you speak german?
Ans i am currently learning A1,
he said wrong and repeated.
Ans: No.
Why this course?
Language of instruction?
Do I know anyone in Germany?
Do you have any relatives?
Plans after study?
What school?
Why germany?
Why not Nigeria?
Why not English speaking countries?
What do I know about Germany?
He cut me off and asked why I didn’t complete my education at 400L as I seem to be a very intelligent person.
Asked if I have any questions
Said he enjoyed our interview and I said the same.
I forgot my passport and he called me back. And reminded me to deposit the transfer documents at the gate.
Sharply printed and gave to paulinus
Spent 4K printing and photocopying

He was also particular about the category I booked.

No, there are two types of Certification, High court and Embassy, you either use High court or embassy certification. Although some school demands you use strictly embassy.
