That tells you how highly other coaches rate him (Chucks). Kudos to the team.

Chukwueze came in, and they sent two players to mark him, hence creating a space behind for our attackers to pounce. His introduction won us the match. I dont even wanna talk about the clear cut chances he created for our attackers to waste.

Akpeyi had one shaky moment. It's guaranteed he will have one of those moments within 90 mins. I hope this AFCON will finally erase all his fear fear.
After 90 mins we will know if we will meet the team Rohr has been dreading. I would rather love to meet SA, cuz we need to shut their mojths up for once.

Don't be so sure about that.

Any team to remove a host nation as Egypt from this tournament should be respected and not underrated

the guy tried..

the Cameroon team is the most skillful team we have played since a long while...

so skilful....

Still doesn't change the fact that he wasn't imposing. I expected the same guy I saw against Guinnea. Guinnea even had a better midfield than Cameroun

that Akpeyi guy is short one..
he is so indecisive...
I was so scared...which we had the Cameroonian keeper we won't have comceded so cheap goals...

He almost erred at a point thanks to the clearance.
you make that mistake against Egypt you're gone

Ighalo the lion slayer

3 matches
4 goals
1 assist
3 wins
Too early to say but he really is in contention for player of the tournament so far.

Seedorf made a massive mistake subbing Njie who was a bag of t ickery and was handful for Aina
Ighalo came to the party today and he justified why Rohr has so much regards for him
Iwobi was not in the game in the first half but woke up in the second and got an intelligent goal, he also sprayed some passes in the second half
Overall seem Nigeria's best comes out against Cameroon
If we fail to progress I think Rohr should be retained for further development of the squad

Rohr should go after AFCON regardless of the outcome

you people will be picking players based on the outcome of the match.. can't we be non sentimental for once.
people were saying Iwobi was the worse player, watch as dem go change mouth now.

are you serious? ??

To me Ndidi and Aina have really tried....

Note: I still want Rohr gone in the long run. It had to take a HT loss to make him see that Simon adds little to our attack. He is always more defensive and less creative. Chukwueze is a game changer and a threat any coach will put two or three players on. Anyway... More on my analyses later....

Back to the matter you raised my good man.....

NFF should just get a tactician to work with Rohr.Rohr should stay.

Like if you think CHUKS is a gem and deserves to start next game
Guy came in and created 3 goal scoring chances
Musa fluffed his
Ighalo played directly at the keeper
Onana removed one from his net via his corner
Boy is a gem
Anytime he's with the ball 2 players are dragged towards him
Complete gem

not his fault our CBs were flatfooted

Wow y'all initial excuses was that he was covering up for Awaziem, buh, suprisibgly, Awaziem played his best game with Simon off the pitch. grin

Awaziem even as a full back, contributed more upfront than our supposed winger, Simon

after one match you will flip.. I still stand by my word, Rohr should go. However this was one of our best games since Argentina friendly based on how THE PLAYERS responded to being behind. There was no tactical change whatsoever than Ighalo dropping deep a little.
Cameroon was poor.

Unlike u, I'm not a fair weather fan.. I've stood by the team since the start of the tournament and would do so till the end...
You were all over the thread predicting a narrow win for Cameroon.. Smh...

Yes, I am one of them and I stand by it.

If the Cameroonians had a better coach, they wouldn't have subbed out Njie. Our defence had no answers for him.

While we celebrate our victory now, we will get it tougher in the next stage. We may not be so lucky.

Nooooo.... But the likes of Darkelf and co termed him useless and contrubutes nothing to the team. Funny lots.

Let me correct your assertion.

I didn't single out Ighalo. I blamed the entire team except Ndidi. And truthfully they were below average during the first two matches and poor against Madagascar

what's a fair weather fan?.. i've never stood against the team.. i've only called a spade a spade.. if they dont play well, I say it. Rohr does not inspire my confidence finito
The match could have gone either way. But that was my prediction based on what I saw so far in the group stage.

Ighalo was very impactful today ... his skills and his ability to talk to the guys and lift their spirit on the field of play is just the best thing I have seen ...

The best is yet to come for the Eagles .

@ the bolded... so do I... our win today was more due to the player's determination than the coach's tactics...

Even if all he scored today were penalties or tap-ins... Who cares? Penghalo or not.... My own is this: HE GOT THE JOB DONE AND THAT IS WHY ROHR MUST PLAY OUR MOST LETHAL CREATIVE WEAPONS LIKE CHUKWUEZE who can open up defences with his movements, trickery and his mere presence to create chances upon chances.

Ighalo delivered today and I am glad. He was always going to start and just needed to be fed. I keep saying it... Give him as many chances so that even if he flunks some, we won't have to talk about it because he scored the rest.

Ighalo stepped up indeed and showed "his red eye" as he promised he will show.
Unlike a certain Niang Chriskels once said is better than Iggy. Bia Chriskels..Your lobotomy schedule is drawing closer. grin
