#NGACAM GOAL PLAYER RATINGS Daniel Akpeyi: 4/10 Made a crucial block to prevent an own goal with the score at 1-2. Still fails to exude confidence or calm, and while he's not directly to blame, he was given the eyes much too easily by N'Jie for Cameroon's second. Chidozie Awazieim: 5/10 A solid defensive effort, and he even managed to put in the cross which was chested down by Ahmed Musa for the equaliser. Struggled against the pace of Bassogog on occasion, however, and might have done better preventing the cross which was touched in by Bahoken in the first-half. William Troost-Ekong: 4/10 Not an assured showing. Was caught underneath a couple of high balls, failed to protect the near post on crosses from the left, and seemed slow to react to danger as it unfolded. Some of his long-range passing, however, was very good. Kenneth Omeruo: 6/10 Was beaten in the air by Bahoken for the second goal, but acquitted himself well otherwise. Got in some crucial blocks and tackles, and picked up the slack when Aina looked wobbly on occasion. Ola Aina: 5/10 Typically steady performance from Aina, who did better going forward than in the previous game. That said, he had a slightly calamitous 15 minutes either side of the half-time break when the old Aina, less assured and somewhat complacent, resurfaced. Oghenekaro Etebo: 5/10 Was robbed of the ball a little too often on the day, and his lack of discipline positionally was exposed by the movement of Eric Choupo-Moting. More than held his own in the physical stakes, however. Wilfred Ndidi: 5/10 His passing, over short and long distances, was a real downer on the day, in a game which seemed tailor-made for his talents. Simply was unable to assert himself as much as he can, and often does. Alex Iwobi: 6/10 Redeemed a weak first half with a much better second, and took his goal very well. As the game opened up, he began to really enjoy himself. There is a sense he is playing within himself still, though. Better movement ahead of him would be helpful. Moses Simon: 5/10 A wasteful showing from the Levante man, whose shooting radar was completely off today. Was unable to assert himself, even though he had the right intentions and nicely squirmed past a couple of challenges. Rightly substituted early in the second half. Ahmed Musa: 4/10 Negligible attacking contribution yet again from the captain, and yet he showed composure (or perhaps he slipped?) to cushion Awaziem's cross into the path of Ighalo for the equaliser. An important contribution does not, however, atone for a forward not taking any shots. Odion Ighalo: 7/10 His lack of movement can frequently frustrate, but it's impossible to argue with two goals and an assist. If anything, his ability to finish instinctively was the difference between defeat and victory for the Super Eagles. Coped well with Cameroon's physicality in defence, and dished some of it back. Samuel Chukwueze: 5/10 Was brought on to provide more direct dribbling, and he fulfilled that brief. It was not always successful though, as he found himself double-teamed, but he created some great chances, most notably for Ighalo to potentially complete his hat-trick. 3 Likes |

Jarus:I was in youth corps then in Awka. Anambra state. But on the particular day and particular time, I was on the road to Oron in Akwa-Ibom running an errand for the Anambra state assistant commissioner of police. I totally missed the game. But I had a wonderful nights sleep when I got to Oron and heard the final score. |

Jarus:it was semi final, that first goal is still the fastest goal scored in an Afcon tourney, I remember JayJay was suspended for the tie that's why Tijani started and he ended up scoring twice, I think the second goal too was scored first minute of the second half |

Triniti:I think it's almost general, club football and years of dour disappointing football made people fall out of love with the eagles. I remember the final against Cameroon, Sunday evening after the second goal went in you'll think na thunder, the noise that enveloped my street was crazy that was when people put TV powered by car battery outside to watch matches for free, come and see tears after we lost that game, still our most painful defeat |

darkelf: Chukwueze didn't change any game. In fact, he had no hand in the 2 goals. The dynamic of the whole game changed after the two goals because the Camerounians began to chase the game with many players thrown forward leaving their defence exposed. I just watched the replay now. Chukwueze barely did anything with the ball before the two goals were scored. You said Simon was bereft in the final third. Maybe, you should watch the game again. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

My brother I come follow dey ask whether no be the same match wey I watch cus the rave abt the guy after the match dey too much. Many who re clamoring for oshimeh once him play few matches now and don't deliver them go curse craze comot for the young man life. The nff hired a coach so u guys should allow him do his work or better still apply for the job is there is an opening. Even if Rohr wins the afcon and get to a world cup semifinal some of una no go still dey satisfied so make una free the old man to do em job. Also those who have been praying for the team to be disgraced out of afcon so that they will have a cause to castigated Rohr and protest for his sack should change their prayer point cus it seem that's not gonna happen. Eagles may not win the tournament but will leave with their heads high! forgiveness: 10 Likes 4 Shares |

Meliforme:What was Rohr's aim/reason for making that substitution. My issue is not whether our attackers are decent or not rather about the aim of that substitution because we barely attacked again as soon as Ighalo left.. or you want to tell me Onuachu is a defensive striker thats why d sub? |
