False presentation. One reason why Muslim population is increasing is because they give birth carelessly without regards to scare natural resources. The Christian Faith can never be in danger even with so much false/rapist pastors in the system because even the devil knows Jesus is the way, the truth and light. Nigerian Muslims are the worst in giving birth carelessly. |

Duggedised12: I believe the main issue with Christianity in Nigeria is more about ideological leaning. Many churches are losing there impact, there might be so much crowd, but lives are not truly touched. For example look at the impact Hillsong Australia, some leading Evangelical preachers in America, preachers like Joseph Prince are making around the globe. When you look at them you see genuine honesty and truth truly in there lives. But take a look at churches in Nigeria and you will see so much dishonesty and a lot of things muddled up. And the younger generation are seeing these things., many of them are losing there faith, which is a future danger for Christianity in Nigeria. The writer is right from human standpoint, although from God's standpoint, God will begin to raise up sound ideological preachers away from what we have now. 1 Like 1 Share |

Even if Nigeria becomes 70% Muslims to 30 % Christain that doesnt make the SE or SS less Christain, xtian areas will still remain xtian and Muslim areas still Muslims. |

Firstly christianity as prophesied in the bible was never intended to have the numbers. Narrow is the way.... that leads to life Islam is growing... but not because their message is better but because of the threat to life faced by ex muslims. This doctrine also will cause the liberal muslims to continue to grownand outnumber the fundamentalist nuslims 1 Like |

One thing I understand is that as the second coming of Jesus draws closer the percentage of Christianity drastically reduce. **Jesus said many are called but few are choosing **Not all that call me Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven Pls I think we have to read our Bible everyday, every hour, every minute and every second.. We will never understand what's happening in the world if we failed to read the word of God. |

It's likely anti Christ come through Islam As the end is getting nearer Christian population will reduce.even Jesus asked his disciples whether He's going to meet faith when he returns,it became a rhetorical question. No answers! The church leaderships should guide their subjects to have a personal relationship with Jesus'. If you can't give up everything for Jesus now how will you withstand tribulations that's coming ahead? |

I may decide to accept this up to 75% for the church as denominations but for the Church as a body of Christ - forget it, your mental and visual analysis is just as limited as the mind of humans, except you go spiritual, deeply. You ain't and you can't be God. |

Righteousness89:The church now has more money and "class" than before. Check our ministers, they are known more all over the world due to televangelism and jet planes than the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We are getting faithless by the day. How much of evangelism do church members do (per month) on the average? How much distinct are the average church member from the world (school, place of work)? How much of healing and deliverance does the Lord use the average church members to do? How much of Love to others is exhibited by the average church member? Luke 18:8: "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" Rev 3:17: "Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" |

[quote author=OEPHIUS post=80031675] By Zikeyi John Christianity in Nigeria, on the evidence of filled church pews and mega-crusades, each heaving with millions of worshippers at any given time, appear to be in rude health. The perception of the faith being in robust health finds expression in statements such as “the Devil is a liar”, “the gates of Hell shall not prevail” and “the Kingdom of Christ is marching on”. That church leaders in Nigeria have grown in influence, often provoking the type of adulation reserved for pop stars, is taken as confirmation of the belief that, indeed, “the Kingdom of Christ is marching on”. But looked at very closely, Christianity in Nigeria is everything but in rude health. It is actually ailing and may find itself in the Intensive Care Unit sooner than later. The signs of ill-health are bold, but are confused, sometimes wilfully, with something else. There is a need to make a clarification. This writer has no intention to scare.
