Predstan:I am absolutely impressed by your hard work, my dear colleague. I am awake right now, sipping coffee and reading this thread just to decipher the new tricks these Nigerians have up their sleeves. Are you aware that apart from funding or some sort off tuition waiver and a professor xxxx research, some of them can't give better reasons why they picked a school? Is the embassy concerned about this coz the consulate is. We are no longer blown away by these responses, we need more substantial answers, more school-specific or program-specific responses, I mean responses that reveal in-depth knowledge and thorough research. Well, have a productive week and cheers to us doing our jobs better and sipping more coffee 9 Likes |

Was curious as to why your interview was so short and immediately went through your page and it is obvious that your denial was due to several mistakes that you made filling your first ds160 and also in your first visa interview which was not coherent the previous VO noted some issues and i think the recent VO saw and decided to refuse you. sorry but you were not prepared enough and your story was inconsistent in your first interview which has been noted in their system. All the new VO had to do was read through the previous of notes of why you were previously denied and deemed you an immigration risk leading to the denial. Also your going for an MBA without writing GMAT that is a not a very good sign, and rarely will a ranked MBA/ Business school will consider your application without GMAT. Do enough due diligence and research don't just apply because VO's know how the american education system works. But still Goodluck whatever u intend to do next. Petersburg94: |

E sha nu mi ooooo VO: Why do you want to study in the United States? Me: I chose to study in the United States because American universities are widely known for their quality of education and research program and also their program structures lay equal emphasis on both theory and practical knowledge VO: How many schools do you apply to? Me: I applied to two schools; Alcorn State University and Mississippi Valley State University VO: Where did you get admission? Me: Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi State VO: Why did you choose to study at this university? I think this is adequate for undergraduate as you are not expected to have broad research knowledge, know professors etc. where issues might arise is. did u write any standardised test? Your age? and if the sponsor account is a business account. Just work on the "why the united states " question Adebanjo669: |

Adebanjo669: My thoughts: Hope you filled the education section on the DS form carefully? When did you finish high school, and what have you been doing since then? How old are you, since it's a BS degree? Were you offered a significant scholarship? If not, why have you chosen to do your BS in Yankee, when you could easily study this course in Naija at a fraction of that cost? Prep for these questions also. Best wishes. |

marcDgreat: Why are you talking about GMAT with Business course the way you do. Watch it! Its so discouraging. He just mentioned that the school didnt require any test but he did a virtual interview with the school. Are you saying he should have gona to write a test that wasnt required by the school He is applying to? I have my interview tommorow, mba, no test was required by my school, gmat, toefl, ielts, or any exam. Although i have an expired toefl. So what do you advice i do or say when im being asked if i took any test for the coursr im applying for? 2 Likes |

I think the transcript of a denied Visa is a lot more valuable than an approved one. We learn more from failure than from success. Before ordering for a product, I prefer to read a 2 or 3 star product review instead of the 5 star reviews. 5 stars reviews could be bought or incentivized. An approved transcript quickly rakes in 20 likes n several quotes but a denied transcript nko? And we wonder why people don't post. On face value, It gives the impression that this community is one which reward success and do not really want to associate with failure. People denied, biko, post your transcripts too. At d least, members here can suggest improvement. If u we're denied more than once, post d previous denial too. Members can help trace the problem. I know there are lots of unreported denials. Stop hiding your problems, this is a faceless forum. And please, let's stop tampering or sugar-coating d transcripts. It could make another person feel as if they are not good enough or feel less of themselves. Post it as it is or as u can remember. 26 Likes |

AgreatMan:I support the last speaker. If you did not understand, what he means is that you should not bottle up your visa refusals. I don't know you, you don't know me, so why the shame? If a patient presents the wrong leg for treatment, the problem is still there. Brave it and post your experience as it is and by so doing achieve your travel dream. 4 Likes |

My Intention was not to discourage but to advice. Most reputable MBA programs usually require gmat and that is the standard and the VOs know this if you come to them for an mba without gmat they are likely to deem you unserious, Business schools are expensive so it is expected that you know and do all research when looking to go for an mba.Usually schools that don't require gmat for admission are usually low ranked or even blacklisted schools. My advice for applying for mba programs is to write GMAT and only apply to the top 50 or top 100 schools using us news and world report you can check for them and also tally your gmat score with the average score of their admitted class. But there are also some instances here on nairaland that people get approved without writing gmat. All in all wish you the best in your interview tomorrow hope you can share the outcome with us. As for advice on what to do just simply say the truth if asked about the gmat " your school did not require it ". Milnes: |

Hello wonderful people. I'm back again o from part 14 https://www.nairaland.com/4672093/general-u.s.a-student-visa-enquiries-part/316 Wow wow wow!!! I'm so glad to jam this forum this morning in my despiration and in Yoruba (Nigeria ti su mi) meaning I'm tired of Nigeria. I saw the previous parts (or should I say seasons smiley ). Please, I know my questions might not resonate with the current flow of issue on this platform but try and help a brother build hope again and provide guidance. God help us all. I graduated from FUNAAB 2017 BSc Chemistry, CGPA 4.47/5.0 Finished NYSC 2018 I do Have a resilient passion for MSc in Chemical and Process Engineering and if not together, only Chemical Engr will do in the U.S. (BSc Chemistry is eligible for MSc Chemical Engr ), Due to my no sponsor at all situation, I would need a concrete assistanship over there and I go survive somehow. I know you guys understands the step by step strategies of abroad schooling. Abeg help your brother angry Since July 2018, job job job, ( to gather money for GRE and TOEFL cause people say it is needed) but No!!! All my country industry want is a Chemical Engr... Most of them... And I wouldn't let go of the Industry, it's my dream to be a Chemist for industries, proceed to being a process and R&grin person, formulations and Co. And the Engineering part will cover up for BSc Chemistry weaknesses I have made up my mind to gather the money for those exams by God's grace. So friends, as u can see I need a thorough foundational knowledge on MSc in the US. I've got to further. And I'm 25 will be +1 this June. Time is running. The best give u can impart to me now is Knowledge... It will *MAKE* me THANK YOU FRIENDS.... WILL BE ANTICIPATING YOUR HELP... GOD BLESS YOU!!! I have taken GRE test. I had 297 I plan on taking another but will be as soon as I get the test fee (Sept-Oct-Nov) I am settling fully for msc/phd Med Chem (I give up on Chem Engr since I can't get full funding anyways, because engineering funding is not for this kind of GRE package) Please, advice me if I can still move on with application based on this result, which school would most likely grant full funding and what are my chances? I'll appreciate your advice. Thanks... 1 Like |

Every successful person has a painful story, so never give up. A school bell that sounds as a disturbance at 8:am also sounds interesting at 2:pm... it's just a matter of time..so Don't envy anyone. Not everyone walking fast has an appointment. Some have running stomach!. ..If a rose smells better than tomatoes, It doesn't mean the rose can make a better stew. Don't try to compare yourself to others. You also have your own strength, look for it and build on it. All animals that exist, were in Noah's ark. A snail is one of those animals. If God could wait long enough for snails to enter Noah's ark; His door of grace won't close till you reach your expected position in life. Never look down on yourself, keep looking up. Remember that Broken crayons still color_. Keep on pushing, you never can tell how close you are to your dream. As fall session is approaching we await more Approval this month. Let's go get the Visa! Have a great week ahead... 25 Likes 2 Shares |
