What age or stage in life can one choose to be a believer? One can only speak on the knowledge he/she have. Do you know that many of Christ disciples in Mat 16:13-15 do not know/believe Christ and his mission even after they had been baptised! Except Peter.... But after Christ left, in Acts, the spirit upon confirmed the whole disciples. That they believed without a doubt about Christ. Infants baptism cannot be done without a guardian. Lydia in Acts 16 invited Paul to come into her household and baptised it's members. No exception. A child guardian will be in place for the baby to recieve baptism.
