Please, what do you have to say about Transcorp and UACN?

If both were women, i'll marry the former and take up the latter as one of my concubines... while also keeping an eye on her.
Of course u know that a concubine is not the same as a wife !! ...She is usually 'outside', while a wife is 'inside'.

NOTE: NOT to be infered as any sought of recommendation.
My advise: Pls follow ur instinct.

For the former, i'll be willing to pay up the current rate as bride price. ...she'll make a good wife(spouse)

For the latter, i'll have her as one of my concubine at an expense of no more than N6, while targeting a benefit(ROI) of approx 15% or more in the short term.
I shall however consider 'marrying her for a pride price of </= N5, while targeting a dowry(ROI) of btw 30-50% from her parents when the time is right !!'

Again, NOT a recommendation. ...due diligence should still remain ur 1st priority.
My advise: Follow ur instinct.

You just said nothing, i think my question there demands an answer. Do I keep or sell Should i trust the buyer, would SEC go after them, if they fail to pay us?

I have just sold off my entire stake in DANGOTE FLOUR @ N18.80 and here's why;

The disclosure of the deal with Olam assumes a buy out figure that includes a clause raking-off the acquirers current stake(~0.1% of DFs 5B OS) + the coys net debt at the back of all accrued settlement.
Hence the N130B buy out amount billing off the 0.1% stake by Olam and discounting for a net debt of ~27B (65B total borrowings at the time, less DFs cash and cash equivalents of 38B)
This should bring down the ACTUAL BUY out figure(in total) by ~230bps to approx N100B... and compute the actual pay per equity of DF to ~N20.
This however is only an estimate, but a likely one given the terms of the deal that was put out a few days ago.
@ today's current price of N18.80, its still 120k less the N20, but I'll prefer not to be greedy so the fellow who bought from me might maybe enjoy any further rise in price. There is even a fractional probability that it could rise beyond the N20 estimate...
but a ride from a BEP of < N11 to N18.80(an approx 71% ROI top up) is ok for me.

To the 4 fellows who were perhaps guided by my advise on DF(if indeed u bought after my private chit-chat with u last week) pls do take note of this and be guided accordingly.
This is however NOT a license for anyone to sell off their HOLDING... as u may also wish to still wait for a further upside in price.
Pls do not sell because I sold... sell because u want to. Remember; U are the CEO of ur portfolio.

My advise: Follow ur instinct.

I notified us when I sold off my stake in DANGOTE FLOUR some weeks ago.(refer to the post above)
While I do not hold the stock anymore, I still believe that the present mkt price is still @ an appreciable discount to what can likely be the eventual buy out price.
That said, a decision on whether to sell or hold will depend on ur LEVEL OF LIQUIDITY, PERSONALITY and INVESTMENT GOAL.
With due consideration of all 3 factors, u can HOLD.
However if u decide to tour that path(which is cool), begin now to process ur e-dividend mandate with EDC registrars, so ur fund wouldn't turn out to be a tied down 'bond' with them.
As a guide;

1) Ensure they(edc) have a specimen signature of ur brokerage A/C captured on their database with emphasis on DF as a security u hold.
To achieve this; follow up with ur broker to fill a transfer form clearly indicating DF and get them to send it to CSCS for verification, warehousing(via ur chn) and signatory. Thereafter, request for the duly stamped and signed acknowledgment copy of ur transfer form from ur broker.

2) Submit ur clearly filled e-dividend mandate form thru ur bank and get them to upload it on the NIBBS platform. ...u must follow up to ensure they do that. Among the banks that are more readily accessible in this regard are GTB, ZENITH, FCMB, STANBIC and STERLING. ...so u can use any of them to get things done faster.
But before the bank uploads ur e-dividend mandate, request(mildly) for an acknowledgment copy after due stamping and signatory by them. U can ask that they make a print out for u right there or u take it out, quickly print it urself and return it to them.

3) Scan the acknowledgement copies of ur e-dividend mandate form(duly stamped & signed by ur bank) and that of ur transfer form(also signed & stamped by cscs) to the official e-mail of EDC and copy the official enquiry/feedback mail ad of ur bank and that of nibbs.
On a side note, also ensure that the target bank A/C u indicated that ur funds be remitted to is ACTIVE with at least N500 as ledger balance beforehand. This is very important... so ur form won't get rejected by nibbs on the way to final processing.

EDC registrars will sure have NO choice whatsoever, but to pay u ur dues in no time !!

NOTE: If a special form is designed for the buyout cash consideration(as was the case with the access/diamond deal), just follow the same steps above. ...only that u will also need to add the said special form with steps 2 and 3.

Regards.

Yes and No.
Yes if DF was not among the coys u've been paid for in the past....and No if it was.
Ordinarily, and by convention, there should've been no need for u to fill any form as long as u've received e-dividend remittances from any of the other stocks they(edc) manage.
But because of the rot in our system and the peculiarities associated with payment of buy out assets of this nature, it would be best to err on the side of doubt and follow thru with a fresh process, if u've never been paid an e-dividend for DF in the past.

However, if it does turn out that there's a specially designed form for the buy out(as was the case with the access/diamond deal), u will only need to process the said form alone.(following the steps highlighted)
The assumption would be that they already have ur specimen signature and e-dividend details captured on their database, so u won't be needing to repeat them again.

Why keeping concubine when the wife is much okay. Okay I get it. The concubine's charges is slightly higher than that of wife but after thorough bargaining and the concubine is ready to reduce her fees, you'll then marry the two. Lol. No be small thing. grin

What's this talk about Access acquiring UBN self?
I thought it should be the other way round considering Union bank's asset/capital base.........well, except if the books are being cooked here.
Union bank shouldn't have issue meeting up with the re-capitalization.
