darkelf: You have brought two separate issues into this discourse. I will go back to my proposition adage which I have stated time and time again, i will remind you. "It is better to be a Lion in a lower league and club than anonymous mouse in a bigger league and club" Both players have earned their call up to the SE, more of a reflection of lack of quality strikers in the SE comparative to years gone past than actual outstanding ability. However, Onuachu has been consistent for near 5 seasons of professional football in the Danish league playing for arguably their best team FC Midtjylland, he has been if you like their "Star Boy" ended up in the top 5 goal scorers in the league. In comparison Osimhen has had his first full season of competitive first team football and ended up in the top 10 scorers in Belgium league. It is superficial subjectivity to assume that because Osimhen plays in the Belgium league he is therefore better than Onuachu it is not so simplistic. But first of all irrespective of league or club what can they bring to the table, and what is needed on the menu for us to have a good chance of winning in the AFCON. First, ingredient is physicality which Osimhen does not have. In terms of skill and technical ability there is no over all leader between them, the only attribute Osimhen has is speed i assume over him, i am not certain. Let me give you something to ponder, if you put Onuachu and Osimhen in the very physical and intense English Championship who would have the advantage, do you think and or perform better We can extrapolate further and ask the question if Onuachu was in the Belgium league would he be among the top 5 top 10 or simply not be good enough What do you think Celtic is in the Scottish league rated 20 in Europe but they are regularly able to sell thier players to the best top level clubs in Europe. So although Celtic is in a low level league the club it as a club is not so low. With the same principle in mind, consider the lowly pedigree of Danish Superliga and the performances in Europe of FC Midtjylland compared to the much higher placed Belguim league and Charleroi, which then is the better club Just to get you to think with a bit more depth, FC Midtjylland is ranked a very lowly 75 among the top 100 clubs in Europe , however, Charleroi does not even make the list. However, these ratings are far from conclusive they don't reflect the here and now but past glories over the past 5 years plus. At best indicative and food for thought. As it stands in conclusion, for the purposes of AFCON and the team managers strategy Onuachu brings far more to the table. 3 Likes 1 Share |

OMANBALA1: Aina is good at RB as he is at LB...If Collins is going to start against South Africa, aina should take over the RB role abeg.. Awazeim has been impressive at RB no doubt but that's not his main position.. Let's stop this habit of using players out of position please...That was how Shehu started well at RB until we grew tired of him and started insulting him... 10 Likes |

Against tomorrow game, it's only SE that can win SE. Once SE didn't press the destructive button like they did against Madagascar. So fear not Naija fans. Rohr today had a compliment of all 23 players. So he is spoilt for choice in tomorrow's game. I am still not sold out on Ome/Ekong combo. Ekong is not a good passer of the ball. Balo is a better option if we must build from the back. Ekong/Omeruo most times gets confused on who moves & who stays. If they must play tomorrow, they must be communicating steadily. 1 Like |

alot of pple dont know the politics behind the scene in our football. till date i will take the only positives from buhari emerging as the president of this country was keshi's sack. Keshi was a mafia and had strong backup politically right from the presidency to the army. keshi almost turned the super eagles to his private venture and all this started after the afcon triumph. pinnick was the guy who only had the guts to sack keshi when he came in as the nff supremo and made the attempt immediately but was seriously warned by the presidency and other top political stalwarts. keshi knew his game was over when jonathan lost and buhari came, if you guys were observant it didn't take up to a month after buhari's swearing in that pinnick sacked keshi 2 Likes |

peterd53:Keshi invited Iheanacho for CHAN but he skipped it. He also gave Martins and Yak a chance but they didn't do well. Uche was tactically in disciplined and I stopped blaming Keshi for not inviting him when it was revealed some of the coaching staff complained about it. He still invited Osaze to the WC despite their little spat. Gambo was playing well for Kano Pillars. If you support home based players getting an opportunity you can't complain about him inviting an in form home based player. Keshi had his flaws no doubt but he should be appreciated a bit more seeing that he won AFCON and got us to the second round of the WC. 4 Likes |

timay: South Africa only play fancy football that can entertain a selected group of people here... They aren't a winning team... It was the same kind of football they played during the WCQ but couldn't qualify... The same kind of football they played at the AFCONQ until they needed a last win against Libya to qualify... The same football they played when we meet them last year in Jo'burg and they only managed one shot on target and got lucky due to the referee's stupidity... I just dy look some people... 6 Likes 1 Share |

timay:Maybe because we haven't beaten them in the last 5 outings?? Say what you want - they definitely deserved to win against Egypt. They had a game plan and executed it well. They have somehow learnt how to play against big West African teams so they shouldn't be taken lightly. If we had a proper midfield - I'd be a hundred percent confident of winning tomorrow but that midfield is a cause for concern. Etebo - Ndidi will have to be on their A game tomorrow. |

timay: Not true, we are a great footballing nation and we deserve better results, that is the grouse folks have with rohr, In 2014 world cup we had an indigenous coach who qualified us and took us to the second round. We said he was not sound technically. We now carry oyinbo coach in 2018 and we were knocked out in first round, we are now trying to twist words that he is technically sound, are we truly improving? |

oga you lied, keshi gave iheanacho conditions to sign with his management team before will grant him a chance in the chan team. martins was doing very well in laliga and continued with the same form when he moved to the mls but was only invited once in a game the team performed poorly. odemwingie was in top form in 2013 but was snubbed by keshi citing indiscipline, same goes to taiye taiwo who was a mainstay in dynamo kiev that had haruna lukman and brown ideye. what about the case of inform youngster imoh ezekiel? do you know keshi almost dropped yobo and odemwingie from the 2014 worldcup list if not for the intervention of the then nff chairman? why did an inform sone aluko who was hot in the colors of glasgow rangers in scotland prior to the 2013 afcon but wasn't given a chance? at the time haruna lukman was a regular and aside mikel, onazi and i will say to an extend igiebor was the most inform nigerian midfielder in europe but was never given a chance by keshi. what about john chibuike who was doing very well for norwagian giants rosenborg as of the time? edi287: 2 Likes |
