You are right.

It is really painful.

But I think Musa delivered 1 or 2 quality crosses today but Ighalo didn't position himself well

Ighalo doesn't make himself available for crosses he hides behind defenders

That why it looks like Musa is misscrossing because if he looks up he sees fvcking nobody!

bla bla bla... Yet he got his team to the semifinal.

Don't worry, we'd sack him and appoint you in his stead. wink

Dude, check my previous post, I said Nigeria will win the tournament bearing a f-up from Akpeyi, right after the 1st game. Reason I said this was because of the level of competition they will be playing in the tournament, bros African football is now trash, super boring and apart from nationalistic instincts or just for curiosity nobody will be watching them case in point empty seats in Egypt. This is because African teams are playing trash and it is the fault of the fans and the football federations in Africa. In such a case where every team is subpar or just above average, a coach like Rohr can use a talented team of players that Nigeria has and squeeze out a win after seating and watching the other team's videos for several days.

If you are satisfied with squeaking out 1 goal differential wins with other trash African teams and be local continental champions hen Rohr is your man, just don't expect to impress on the global stage.

Nobody is a prophet of doom or crybaby, we all want the team to win. Most of us here cried and pleaded for Chukwueze to start ahead of Simon, now we all see the rewards.

Everyone here is for victory. We just want the gaffer to use the right pegs at the right time like he did today.

Great game.

As much as I hate to admit it but rohr jst delivered a tactical masterclass tonight, from d starting lineup to d gameplay of d boys, he devised a system DAT enabled us to shut down south africa, and limited dem to aimless shots...d likes of tau, mothiba and d rest looked lost and confused on d pitch today, even wen we scored ourselves he made a deciave change where many of us questioned and at d end it brought d goal...kudos rohr and d entire super eagles

I agree. I was impressed with his set up and got the best from the players. Iwobi also looked good.

They may have been a test but you see:

If you test someone who scores straight A's in Senior school with a common entrance paper. No matter how hard it is, it's expected that he will breeze through.

That's what happened between Super Eagles and South Africa today.
No no no... It was an ABCD recital grin

We had some nice interchanging movements in the game.

We did play well in few occasions. But more work on cohesiveness is still needed.

My thoughts on the game

1. Rohr's tactic today was a bit risky but it paid off.. we hardly pressed the South Africans. we let them have d ball... pass it around and we intercept and hit them on the counter. it really worked. .If we has pressed, we would have left space behind which South Africa could have exploited.

2. Musa's decision making are still poor....He was a handful for South Africa's defenders today but his final ball were poor...on two or three occasions he could have scored rather than pass... Seriously it's getting frustrating .nevertheless he had a good game!!

3. Chukwueze is a gem... No need for much words on his performance... But this boy might just turn out to be the best players we have ever produced in a long time.. humility, focus and hard work will get him there...

4. I dunno if it was due to the tactic, but Ighalo was a bit lazy today... didn't run much and didn't get himself into good position. especially that Chukwueze cross that could have been a goal...

5. We are improving with set pieces: Two vital goals from set pieces so far in the tournament tells how much we have improved in that aspect... Etebo's free kick was wow!! We should put in more work into it...

Bring on Ivory Coast/Algeria!!
we are ready!!!!

The crosses are poor but Ighalo needs to move more to open up to receive the crosses. The one he was late for Chukwueze was criminal. However, Ighalo made up with his passionate hard work. Really gave his all to help the team and keep the South Africans uncomfortable.

you don't switch wingers if the defenders are not giving the problem , you only do that when they re unable to perform their primary assignment ... the defence of SA was compact in the middle .

The SA wasn't as compact as they seem.

If ighalo had positioned better, we would have done a proper demolition job.
