Congratulations. What's the name of your school and course of study? Did you get full funding from the school?
UVic - University of Victoria. Well I guess it is, even though they didn't call it full funding or partial funding

Just to put it out there. Using an agent is not a bad idea. There are certified peope who are immigration consultants and recognized by the Canadian immigration. They know all the loop holes and various strategies. They do not come cheap though, least they will charge you is 2,500 CAD. If you are going to use an agent at all, make sure they are registered and certified.

My brother, it baffles me since this monicker popped up. We have seen several of this type on the forum. Their aim is to cause disunity, arguments and confusion on the group so people will walk away and stop dropping meaningful information. When this is achieved, they will now be able to rip people apart as agents, and give them bans. I don't even blame the so called monicker. I guess he should focus on his/her own application and stop pock nosing in other affairs, dishing out wrong advises.
Just some few hours ago, we haven't finished addressing the issue of Leave777 where he is a victim of fraudulent activities from an agent, and a so called learned fellow is advising another to use an agent. I shake my head is disparity. Its quite unfortunate we have to deal with this kind of miscreants. Continue advertising and advising about agents, @Justwise will deal with you appropriately.

My dear, calm down and take things easy with the way you respond to issue. If truly you believe that advice and suggestions given on this platform is from amateur and that agents have more professional advice and solutions, then I think you are in the wrong place. I have seen several questions and advice you seeked from members here and it makes me wonder why seek for such advice here if all you see and grade is amateur. Please we are all here to learn and guide one another out of our own free will and not bound on anyone to act on the advice or suggestions given here, no one is above error and once a suggestion or attention is drawn to such an error we should learn to look at it objectively and not in an offensive manner. I have also given some suggestions in an error but appreciated the moniker that drew my attention to the fact. So, please let's be calm and look at issues objectively before dish out knowledgeable advice or suggestions. Let Peace reign......

Calm down there, we re all here to assist one another on this forum n not talk about using any silly agent. Most agents are scammers n are only intrstd in d money they expect to get 4rm u. I've seen several cases of people using agents n then regretting it afterwards. Now d latest is dis fake bank statement n then d victims end up getting a ban, while those dt are yet to apply find it difficult to convince a VO dt they re genuine. Biko, agent matter is a NO NO jor

Scroll up, the oversabi started the attack first, what's wrong with giving people freewill to take an advice or not, why not give ur own advice and let others do the same, why trying to silent anyone? I always mind my business here, I only respond to comments that need response but some people made it their point of duty to stifle me, if u don't agree with someone's opinion, u pass, that's how adults behave

Greetings from Memorial University( grenfell campus) Corner Brook, Newfoundland

just arriving home from a regular routine of 8am to 8pm (today was early cos i went to the field to assist). I am here to drop 1 or 2 cents for anyone who needs it
- If you have gotten your Visa for fall resumption please start coming now so you can acclimatize, beat the long fall congestion at the airport , start doing winter shopping while its still cheap, know your environment and know what you need on time and avoid village people story abeg

- i strongly advise people who are coming to do this , you have 23kg allocated to you ..Use 1 for clothes, books etc and use the other for foodstuff( now i am missing Nigeria) well some city in some province don't have African store like cornerbrook i have suffered with Jedi Jedi). if yoiu have any local medicine etc please bring it especially the men, if you know what i am saying it will be useful. remember you are representing a country in Canada in all ramifications both academic, on and off campus to lol

- Please don't forget your drivers licence, if you dont have and you can get it done in a short while which i doubt please do ..Me have written driving test 2 times and have failed it( even though na Obj na to use UG final year scope pass am ) but thank God its free unlike ON where you pay 20$ each time . Te Drivers Licence doubles as means of ID t and to still drive if later want to hose if you dont want to do provincial ID instead of always carrying your PP as not to lost

- Please to all TRV hopeful in 9ja please don,t blame people who don't usually come back on here like they did in 9ja .. see ehn time and work na killer here.. before you even think of school then work then food .. My good lord when you all enter you will see

- To everyone who got funding or TA or RA, please welcome the secret behind it is .. you will work the money worth .. unless you have a understanding supervisor.. its more like you were paid to come do research .. so it willl be work work work like rihanna

- Please to those coming, be smart listen the moment you step unto that plan in MMIA just drop 60-70 percent of your 9ja mentality or else you will struggle here gan ...

- be careful of accomodation, don't rush weigh your options , speak out and ask question.. Always maintain eye contact when talking to anyone on the street of canada and be confident .. Most Canadians are willing to help if you ask ( Not moneywise oo)

- Be smart go for what you need and not what you want ...

I am a part and will forever be , i joined 2016 to start my processing and this page helped me to get here 2019 after seeing alot and knowing.. @Justwise,... Can you please overturn the ban you placed on @Mcobex, he is a full-fledged and devoted member of this great platform and has assisted a great number of successful TRV applicants in securing their Visas. I wasn't happy when the news came to my desk that he was banned because of some sort of arguments flying around here lately yesterday/until now.

I sincerely plead that he should be allowed to continue contributing his quota for the goal and fulfillment of this honourable platform.

I therefore, would earnestly be looking forward to seeing him being accepted back on this thread.

Honestly we need to be more respectful of opinions on this thread. Instead of questioning ones motive, offer constructive feedbacks. The former derails the thread.
Jessyeve suggestion is valid: but professional SOP could help, get help from an agent.
Ultimately, it is up to degxyflexy to act on the suggestion.
It makes more sense for the guys attacking jessyeve to channel that energy into helping degxyflexy.
Granted there have been a few cases of misrepresentation on the part of agents on this thread, but the people on the receiving end are not victims. That's a bad Nigerian mentality. And extrapolating a couple bad experiences with agents to the whole population of agents does not scream good judgement. Bottom line is you could get help from this forum and an agent, they are independent events. CIC tells you what to look for when using an agent. If you have been swindled by an agent then it is your fault. Point blank. Not an agents fault or another excuse for not taking responsibility. Ignorance is not an excuse.

I think with my little knowledge, work experience with so much study gap should go with small travel, I think VO always wonder why the sudden study after a long time but having a little travel history to Europe, US and so on and obeying the rules of the visa would influence the VO in a positive way, that's u ain't suddenly tired of ur work or something and looking for greener pasture, that's u r genuine and would come back .

I haven’t seen anyone post it on Nairaland but studentuniverse is aimed at students. You register with your Canadian school email address. Every single time I’ve checked their flights are usually over 100k cheaper than Nigerian sites.

You have a point in the sense that if you could reason like that, then what stops a VO from having the same thought. However, there are numerous approval cases involving applicants with virgin passports, just as there are numerous refusals involving applicants with multiple highly regarded visas on their passports.
From experience, VO’s place more emphasis on purpose of visit and travel history is almost always an afterthought. Unless the applicant is planning on travelling to the above listed countries, a well drafted SOP and LOE would address the VO’s concerns without the need to travel.

Good morning everyone.

I just got into the thread today haven searched rigorously online on how to start a Canadian Undergraduate study process. If there are any detailed articles on Nairaland or someone is willing to share on how I can start my UNDERGRADUATE study journey in Canada, I would appreciate it.

Thank you.
