as long as the thing is reciprocal

I don t mind.

But having visa free arrangements that is not reciprocated is a travesty

It's a travesty only if there is an imbalance in the countries economical system. For example it would be suicidal for Germany to grant India visa free entry. If only one percent of Indians decides to come to Germany and potentially overstay, then the germans have a big problem in their hand. That's about over 12 million Indians.

the govt ought to impose some denials on only South Africa on the ease of doing business in Nigeria

They can't do that because that is where majority of our leaders invest their loots.

As it stands today, Nigeria is begging for South Africa investment not the other way round.

WELL SAID...

As long as our leaders and their families have easy access to other countries either by virtue of dual citizenship or political power, they will never consider free-visa policies with other countries. They never want others to enjoy what they and their families enjoy. Funny enough, most Nigerians see it as normal. It is Never Normal. If they consider Nigeria good enough for business due to her population strength, then they should also consider her people good enough to have easy movement.

Exactly! I was in South Africa on a one-month-vacation. During that period I realize why they hate Nigerians with passion and they are justified. Almost all the Nigerians in South Africa are drug dealers and armed robbers.

Ask any Nigerian in South Africa to mention the exact name of his business or the company he works, you may be surprised at their responses. Most will call it "hustling".

I am a Nigerian but the truth is Nigerians are criminals including my brothers. My immediate younger brother refused to go to school and ran to Malaysia. To do what exactly? He said he is hustling. Which occupation is "hustling" if not internet fraud and armed robbery. In my entire clan, everybody wants quick money (ego mbute). No youth in my community is thinking about education again. They want to travel abroad and make money.

My prayer is that God will punish anybody whose mission in life is to defraud others of their hard earned money, my brothers/sisters inclusive if they undertake this evil route to riches. Success and peace shall be elusive to them. Nobody deserves to be defrauded be it black or white. Foreign or local.
i love honesty.

Yes it is more developed than Nigeria infrastructurally. But it is not a country I'd like to visit.

Where I come from, if you tell people you are based in South Africa, it raises a lot red flags. It is almost becoming an abomination to tell people you are based in South Africa.

There are better countries where I'd like to visit in few years. Madagascar and Seychelles are some of them.

Africans and Blacks generally, just dont like Nigeria or Nigerians.

In fact, they got this from Britain becos they are the source or people spreading the negative image via media propaganda.

If you doubt it is Britain that started it, just take a look at Zimbabwe and wat they have done to the people and country via propaganda.

The height of British propaganda against Nigeria and Nigerians which started during and immediately after independence, was in the 1990s following their dispute with Abacha.

The propaganda went from prostitution, to 419 then drug dealers, criminal military dictatorship and finishing with economic sanctions.

He is right... If I were South Africa's president, I would never grant visa free status to a nation mired in economic drudgery, whose citizens are trying to emigrate in ridiculous numbers...

Ghana on the other hand has a flourishing economy with her citizens not seeing fellow African countries as greener pastures... It's just common sense.

It's easier for Germany to grant such status to Iceland and Luxembourg than to Iran, Malaysia, or Mexico.

With the way our Eastern brothers behave in SA, I will not advise a visa-free status for Nigerians in that country.

What else do you expect or do you want to empty a whole region?

Give Nigerians free visa to S/A and see what'll happen next.

Fellow Nigerians.

Ghana is now a rallying nation for all haters of Nigeria.

Wen u see a country or people blowing Ghana trumpet, just walk and pass quietly becos they most likely hate(detest) Nigeria.

If u were in doubt about South Africa feeling towrads Nigeria, cast the doubt aside.

South Africa and Ghana hate Nigeria and I am sure this Visa Free is some sought of support for Ghana recent treatment of Nigerians in Ghana.

The only reason South Africa is giving them Visa free.

These and a few others issues where some of the things I expected this administration to have negotiated or used as prerequisite for the Free trade agreement. When PMB held off signing on to the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, I was hoping the free movement of people would have been a precondition for Nigeria to open up her massive market to other nations. Free movement of people should go hand in hand with free movement of goods and services, afterall, for a country like Nigeria, our people are one of the best and biggest (second only to crude oil, of which we don't lack buyers) exports we have--just look up the yearly foreign remittance from abroad by Nigerians!

This is exactly the kind of thing that happens when leaders do not know the worth of their people or country, they give it away again, and again for pennies on the dollar!
