I was asked to discuss in detail everything I knew about Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, carbon footprints, greenhouse gases and their effect. Very skewed and off-key from expectations.

A number of my friends who applied for officer roles are already having mixed feelings too. The reason is that although they all have less than 7 years experience but earn over N11m per annum already.

So if they end up being given APLs by NNPC and the EH positions they applied for currently earn less than N11m, you'll agree with me that they would be justified for being worried.....

Basically, knowing the salary range will help to decide whether to quickly channel their energy into another organisation's recruitment

There are different set of persons that handles each stage, representative from different subsidiaries. Once the interview stage is over another panel will be constituted for the next stage. The first committee was for the modalities of the CBT , most of the panelists are senior men and women of the corporation from different subsidiaries, NNPC is ready and prepared to get it right this time around. Thank God the new GMD is also a man of high standard.

Decision making comes after appointment letter have been received na. Besides, you don't put all your eggs in one basket. You can't get a clearer picture till you are given an appointment letter which includes several other info aside salary. Some folks don't care if they would get less than what they are getting elsewhere... There are other variables they are considering toi

After answering a situational based question, they would tell you that it's not accepted that you should give another answer and by the time they were done with me, I kept on wondering if I was in a dream.

Sure...There are alot of parameters that will play out here.The distribution of quota system will be ploted on a graph checkmake fair play not necessarily equal number per state (e.g 15 ,13, 17 is fair).The competition is between persons from Same states and sometimes LGA.

Interview went well. First question was to tell them how my expertise was going to benefit the NNPC. I began shooting my shot, enumerating why as a communication expert I will bring my knowledge in the field of PR and public affairs in efficient CSR, media and community relations and to also ensure the public is well informed on the activities of the NNPC, immediately a barrage of questions ensued like dogs just left off a leash. But I was very calm and composed, I understood that part of the grading was checking out your confidence level and emotional stability, as soon as they were done, I knidly told them what I meant and said we needed to do more in making sure majority of Nigerians are aware of the activities of the NNPC through improved media relations.
I was asked a question on safety, one on the impact of oil exploration and was also asked to tell them the quickest decision I have taken in my life and how it panned out, this put me off balance for some seconds but I had to come up with something, wasn't difficult though, I'm a screenwriter so I cooked something immediately.
Lastly, I was told to ask them a question, I started by commending the whole process as very professional and organised and then asked what efforts does the NNPC take in Staff development? The Chairperson explained to me that for GT level, when you're employed, you undergo some trainings, then you're attached to a coach who'll teach and mentor you so as to ensure you feel in the gaps in task and assignments you'll be given, She also mentioned trainings and studies abroad depending on the field, but she emphasized that enormous work and task is involved though.

They thanked me and then said I'll here from them if I am successful.

I went downstairs and wrote my name and account number.

Should be heading back to my daily hustle and pray for the best.

it's better for them to tell you it's not accepted. they are at least trying to give you a fighting chance . at least you have some seconds or minutes to regroup. it's way better than smiling at you and grading you badly

I just dey laff as them dey complain say panel tough. I prefer panel weh go give me wahala and later grade me well than the one that would just be smiling at you whereas them don kill you for underground ... You will be feeling too confident saying rubbish ... Lol
