Cursed jersey plus poor tactics equals to great defeat. Pele. lipsrsealed

Does it mean Akpeyi is the best we can offer as a goalkeeper? If it is so then we are in trouble.
Re: AFCON: Nigerians React After Algeria Defeated Super Eagles by Dedetwo(m): 11:26pm On Jul 14, 2019
The comparison should start and end with #9 of the two teams. Nigeria's #9 is glorified stick that had no balance while Algeria's #9 is a constant menace to Nigerian defenders.

Abegi... Jersey has nothing to do with it. We lost to a tactically and technically ruthless team. They kept the ball better than us. They passed the ball with sense. They were purposeful and came with a game plan. Nigerian coaches do not know how to read games. They don't lay emphasis on technicality. How can we be 220 million in population, and we cannot produce one stellar goalkeeper or someone who can cross, and someone who is good in dead ball situations. It's a shame. We keep letting ourselves down by doing the same thing and expecting miracles to happen.

I wonder what uzoho was doing on the bench all these while... He's the best of the three keepers.

if Algeria had a sharp attacker , it would have been 4-0 within 30mins of the 1st half. Algeria no 9 worst than ighalo

Superstition won't kill us. That beautiful Jersey has nothing to do with the shambolic display we all witnessed this evening.

The couch did OK with the material he has to be fair.

No matter your tactics, you need good players to interprete it for you. The way a debruyn will interpreted a central midfield role, is not the same way bakayoko would.

The way a Messi will interpreted a wing position, is not the same way Musa would. The couch did well with the structure. But the players themselves were appalling.

In the end it came down to that one fact. Quality players. One strike from mahrez and we were done for.

If it was us getting it round the wall or hitting the target would be near impossible. Kudos to Algeria they did well.

I told my bro to stake high on Algeria. I just hope he did. From the moment Algeria beat Senegal in their group stage encounter , I started to watch their games and boy! Those lads are good, their 7,8,9 and 10 are nightmares. I love that their no.9 player "Bounedjah"; That guy is fast, strong and can bully defenders. I hope Ighalo learns from him.
Algeria play good football and are always a joy to watch. I tip them to win this cup but I'd prefer Senegal to win it

I am surprised at many Nigerians sha... They seem to watch back of TV like we used to say as kids.

Compare our team to that of Algeria and you'd see a massive gap. The Algerians were more tactically astute and surprisingly fitter. The Cameroonian team and South African team were a lot poorer and that was why we had any chance against them.

I have been saying this:

Genot Rorh plays an obsolete brand of football.

In this modern age hardly do you see teams withdrawing into their own half of the pitch when the opposition defenders are bringing it forward. You have to PRESS the defenders and block every expected passing option. Pep Guardiola made this "modern tactics" popular. And many teams use it now.

Madagascar used it against us and we saw the result.

Today, the Algerians did the same thing.

Since the first day of the tournament I watched out football and was immediately unimpressed. Even against Burundi we were playing this kind of obsolete football.

They play like this waiting to counter without any meaningful passing triangles. Once the opposition score, they get out of their shell and start to press. Then once they get a goal, they sit back and start to invite pressure again.

We need a coach that is up to date with modern football... And more importantly can blend our team together as a unit.

I hope Senegal now go ahead and do West Africa proud come Friday
see, u understand modern football. that coach is obsolete. you press opposition defence so they can make errors and also so it will be hard for them to achieve any fluency. individually, they aren't better than us. if we continue with this kind of coach, we will just waste the potentials of those boys.
one point again, is how mist time the keeper just shoot the ball out. in the modern era, you try to build ur attack from the back. the philosophy is, the less ur opponent see the ball the less their threat is.

A summary of our major problems.
Ps: stop being myopic and diabolic about the jersey.

1) Coach is useless for subbing Nwankweze instead of musa the 100 meter runner).
2) Goalkeeper is useless for everything...he deserves football ban for life...even monkey post he doesnt deserve to keep
3) our defenders were escorting opponent strikers to our post not defending them.
We are not giant of Africa again now in anything....issorait

"our defenders were escorting opponent strikers to our post not defending them"....that part speak sense to me... Sometimes when one speak among those who never play football at a competitive stage before, they begin to tell you that... U think it is easy...

Am yet to ascertain which generation develop the idea of escorting "ur opponents" to the box 18yards as a new tactics of defence.

This has become a style or pattern that I observed in Nigeria football style.

If u watch the game women final w/cup between USA & Netherlands.. U will realise that Nigeria team lack any form of tactics, pattern or style of play, or winning formula.... Just like the Government .

I am clapping my hands, sir. You hit the nail on the head so much. It's hard to see Nigerians who understand these things. Football has evolved a lot.

The Nigerian team lack ability to connect with balls... The keeper shot the ball far wide to the half side of the opponent. Did u see any crossing or pull out from one end to another into the 18yards box of the Algeria?.

I wonder how a defender will escort an opponent from the wing towards 18yards box?.

Nigeria is not always lucky with that Jersey, but the guys tried. You win some, you lose some. Algeria is the best team of this tournament. But I want Senegal to win the trophy being A west African country and have not won it before.

Nigeria has failed, we need separation. it's not working out anymore. nothing is working again. a country being chaired by and illiterate in the means of scholars, no, honestly it doesn't sound right. we are tired, we need to go. why are we the young ones so blind folded by the aged. to be sincere, I give up.

Our midfield was overwhelmed,I was expecting him to switch to a 3-5-2 formation. He doesn't read games,we have far better managers than him,if not for the issue of bribery that our local coaches are known for .
