Be honest with me and tell me an online business better than book writing. Some of you may say YouTube, Blogging, Dropshipping, Fiverr, etc. but I'll prove you wrong.

I made one particular book available on Amazon and after 15 days, it has made 87k. Before the end of the month, it will either make 200k or at least 180k. This is only Paperback and Kindle, not the audiobook. Remember, this same business has made me 300k in a day before.

Note: I published and since these 2 weeks, I didn't do anything. The only thing I do is to check how much has been made. This is to say, I use my time for other things while the money gradually piles up.

This is the type of passive income business I want every single Nigerian youth to look into. With this, we will reduce crime and eradicate poverty. If you all focus only on school and jobs, you'll end up being depressed at last if things don't work out.

One day, I may host a free or paid seminar for people in Port Harcourt and teach them the secrets of making regular money with different online businesses, especially book publishing.

The money below is not much, but at least, it's good to appreciate things despite how small it is.

Type with your phone and format with your computer. Anyone who wants to make money online, but doesn't have a computer is 50% not ready.

I use phone 90% of the time because it uses QWERTY keyboard like a computer, so I'm as fast when typing with a phone as with a PC.

You see, typing fast is required, else the business with seem difficult. To type fast, learn Mavis Beacon. If typing is difficult, then you can hire a freelancer to write for you.

The only time I need a computer is when I want to format and design the book cover. To upload, I either use a phone or a PC.

Note: If PC goes into extinction, I'll still do the business with just a phone, but since there is PC, why not use it when it's needed.

To Nigerians, I sell my eBooks in my store for for just $27.00 — $57.00. On Amazon, my Kindle books are always $9.99 and Paperback is $19.99. Bundle is $29.99. This is cheap, but I'll advise you to sell for 2.99 or 4.99.

Why? To attract more buyers. For me, I don't really care if I scare buyers because I know if they dare read my description or the preview of the books, they'll be hooked and they'll buy despite the price.

You you hook a reader emotionally, it doesn't matter the price — they'll buy yours and ignore the cheap cheap competitors. My book that is selling does not have a single review, yet it's constantly selling. What will happen when 10 to 50 5 star reviews drop? The sales will be extra ordinary. This is why I advised people to learn copywriting.

If they give someone who doesn't have copywriting skill and some who has a pen to go sell — the person without copywriting skill will sell it for 50 Naira, but the person with copywriting skill will end up selling it for 1k. What's the difference? Copywriting skill.

It's a must learn skill if you want to sell things at a higher rate and skill make more money that those who reduce their prices to attract more clients. High price = high value.

As a beginner like you, sell for 2.99 or whichever you prefer as long as it's worth it. For paperback, sell for 12.99 or 15.99 or whatever you prefer.

The reason I sell higher to Nigerians and cheaper to the whites is because my 550 page book was reduced to a 300 page book for foreigners. Nigerians get everything but the foreign get half of the content.

At times, you need to test prices to see what fits you.

One as a newbie cannot just dive into the business and boom, everything all becomes rosy. One will thing its all that easy. I think you are employing the 30th law of power. Being a good writer or copywriter is not something to come by in a day.
Talking about lucrative digital skills, don't you think Software developers or programmers who knows their onions earn the most?

Note: I don't use fancy software just the same way I don't use big grammar like Patrick. I love simplicity. I installed WPS and haven't used it after my first attempt.

I write books based on topics I know. If it's a topic I don't know, I'll outsource. Luckily, I know a lot of topics, so I just do it myself and have fun along the line. Though, I'll soon stop writing and start hiring. There comes a time when you need to use money to make money and stop trying to do everything yourself because you could.

About writing with a phone, let me explain. I used to create 5 posts in a day on Nairaland in May to July 2016 and people thought I was mad.

Yes, they really abused me, called me mad, jobless, etc. but I kept going. Those posts were written with a phone as an article.

In 2017, I turned all of them to different books. Sinxe 2018, they have been vomiting cash like CBN. My longest book is 550 pages. My shortest book is 31 pages. I use 5.24 x 8" paper size.

Most of my books are long — the short ones are 2 or 3. I have books of 400+ pages, 300+ pages, 200+ pages and 100+ pages.

I have written more than 20 books with my old cracked phone. When it's time for formatting, I transfer the content to computer and finish the rest.

I prefer using phone for writing and computer for arranging. Also, I use computer to design the book covers.

The cheapest book there is 10k. Lasticle is 20k. One of our books that is 550 pages cost 10k, but another with 300+ pages costs 20k. So, it's not by the number of pages, but by the value you attach to it or the caliber of content.

I still don't see myself as a great writer. I'm just there — a regular publisher, not an author.

A newbie who knows a topic can dive into it as long as he's focused and passionate about it, else, he should outsource.

Knowing how to punctuate helps in this business during proofreading, but some people are doing ok with the software called ProWritingAid or Grammarly.

Copywriting helps. It's a MUST LEARN skill, not just for writers, but for everyone who wants to make more money in business.

Yes, they earn more, but most programmers are not business savvy. They become addicted to code and syntax and forget the business side of it. I'm a programmer by profession, but when I realized I was becoming a nerd and too in love with codes, I had to take a break.

There are programmers who are better than Zuckerberg, but he has a better business idea than them. Some programmers are too geeky to the point they they hate leaving their comfort zone to explore the business side of the codes. In 2020 or 2021, I'll publish my series of programming and web development books.

You can learn as many skills as you want while in school. I bought my first guitar and keyboard while in school and learned them with the help of YouTube and some books before graduating. If school had stopped me from acquiring skills, by now I would've been depressed searching for job.

I flex for school sha. No dull moment. Always hitting the club to spank white and Asian asses. So, you can. Don't let one "used less thing" called school stop you. Schedule right and get it done. Remember, I said "used less," not "useless." School is good, but we use it less after graduation.

Income through graphic design? Register on Fiverr.

How you can learn effectively? I don't really know the stress level in a Nigerian university, so I make not be accurate with my advice on that. I skip.

For a YouTube channel, I can't remember anyone. Just pick whose teaching method you like on YouTube. For how may years before you see yourself as adequate? If you learn from a pro, 3 to 6 months.

For me, I have been playing with graphic designs for 15 years now with Corel Draw. Moved to Photoshop in 2015 or thereabout.

I'm kind of interested in this but I should be candid really not really good at writing. Most stuffs you explained here, not really conversant with them due to my course of study. So, I typed some thousands of words yesterday after my shower, then went to bed at 5 AM and woke at 11 AM. Yes, I reduced the price of the paperback from $29.99 to $9.99 before going to sleep.

I was tempted to check my account to see if it has made 100k, but I'm disappointed to say it has only made 218 pounds which is 98k. We have 2k left to make 100k in 16 days. I'm 100% sure before today runs out, it will be 100k in 16 days.

Please note, this sales is not impressive — this is a multimillion Naira business if you understand the trade. I'm only showing you guys sales of 1 book. I no wan expose myself go enter trouble. This country is not a place to flaunt millions — but you're safe to flaunt less than 900k.

All types of books sell. I only write nonfiction. Though, fiction makes more money, but nonfiction is what I prefer because it's more evergreen. Books on "How to."

The book that I'm using for this experiment is an article I posted here on Nairaland for free in 2018, but Nairalanders abused and attacked me, saying they are rubbish, so I laughed and decided to turn it to a book so that the rubbish can be turned to cash-bish.

All can be learned on YouTube and Google for free. Though, learning from a mentor is way faster to succeed in this business.
