You as a scientist should know more than this. People are really suffering in this country.

It's the middle class that can afford these phones and cars.

What's the percentage of Nigerians in all 36 states that use a Samsung or iPhone?

Aren't the China phones/Nokia phones far more common?

Ever been to the North? Ever stayed among the illiterates?

Don't let Twitter/Nairaland/social media fool you? Most Nigerians are poorer than you think.

How many Nairalanders can afford a Keke Napep comfortably?

Young man if you are poor in Nigeria then you are the reason for your poverty. Every single Nigerian should be able to save 700k annually unless you choose to be blind. Only lazy folks think like you

How?

How many times have I or any of my friends seen movies on cinema?

So, even living under one dollar a day, Nigerians still have time to go see movies? No, we are not the poverty capital of the world

Nigeria is the world capital of extreme poverty

That is a sacrosanct fact that every one knows

why live in denial

What is the percentage of Nigerians that can afford to watch a movie in the cinema?

Think relatively and not just in terms of the money generated alone.

N3.1 billion divided by 180 million Nigerians is low.

EXACTLY

Yet PDP would have you believe the nation is dirt poor. And the brainwashed idiots who actually go to the cinemas and spend fortunes to watch BBN would still come online to rant that they're suffering in buhari's Nigeria.
What is 3 billion Naira??
That is extremely poor for a country of 200 million people.
Do you realize that N3.1 billion is just $8 million??

What percentage of that 200 million is of the cinema-going demography? You seriously don't expect the entire population to attend movies.

Of that percentage, 3b is a huge sum.

Also what's your point equating naira to US dollars?

You could as well equate the 3b to Zimbabwean dollars, I'm sure it'd be like 20 bajilion.

Lols in a way that's true

But the people living on credit use money to pay off, but it still comes to the same thing or worse.

If you buy a car outright for cash say at $25,000 and i chose to go for financing at $500 per month for 60 months, i end up paying $30,000 for the same car, meaning you saved $5,000. So those credit-based societies pay more than we do.

If you ask Americans to pay $25,000 cash for a new car 95% of them wont have a car

Haha true!

That's why dealerships skin them with trade-ins and crooked financing.

The economy of the country is down bros. 60 percent of Nigerians are still living in poverty.

Stop insinuating nonsense too. The car market in Nigeria has severely dropped

In the village of the blind a one eyed man is the king.

The village of the blind is Nigeria. Where watching an ordinary program and going to the cinema is a fortune. Poor Unilag boys save up money to watch movies in cinemas. Doesn't mean they aren't still suffering.

Those small small services like 24/7 light that's present in other countries that other citizens enjoy, you're seeing it as a fortune. Shows the sad state of the country really

700K a month? That's like 60k every month.

How is that possible when few Nigerians earn more than 100k a month?

Lots of hard working Nigerians can't afford half of that

Why do we always link being successfully with having a job? Who is stopping you from setting up a small business or better yet learn a handwork? 700k annually is like saving less than 2,000 naira daily. That's nothing if you really want to

Seriously?

I thought only a man well-fed will save up to go watch a movie in a cinema.

I thought you all want us to believe everyone is dropping dead from starvation?
