This is very vital. What of if we decide to create our own. All of us with like minds and wish to succeed in this. The floor is open for opinions. If we all decide on it, we can start it here and make this thread the center of everything with transparency And also making it one of the biggest project here in Nairaland.
What do u all think?

Very lovely point you present, but if the platform is mostly approve by the NDIC, CBN is a welcome idea. it pays more than fixed deposit so i not sure CBN will accommodate that, from my gathering is 18-20% above for investors very juicy.

We don't need CBN for this. It's going to bw strictly an online venture

I have always wondered why we are yet to have one in nigeria fully owned by nigerians! We can't we for once mean business?

Winthrills network is doing pretty fine since I started with them. And shockingly is co-owned by a nigerian. Can we get look into what they do and duplicate in here? Mostly housing projects? If we shun corruption and nepotism honestly it will work.

Let's do something I take God beg una. If 2 reasonable heads can do the logic and let us know how far,it will be great!

If Nigerians can mimick a platform like kick starter/indiegogo I think this will carry us further.
I also had this dream but, later got to know that CBN is not in support of crowd funding platforms. The government of this country is still living in the archaic era so we need to move forward on our own. if the support of investors could be sought for, and those who can make donations and not necessarily investing in ideas/startup we will go a long way.
I once use indiegogo and it was such a beautiful platform not backed by any financial institution but yet it favors the Americans more.
a platform where Nigerians can contribute funds without necessarily investing but keeping tabs on such startups will go a long way. we just need to get it right once.

I've actually been studying crowdfunding for awhile now and I believe it is the future of raising funds for businesses and entrepreneurs especially in Africa. There are a couple of them in Nigeria now but after my research I discovered that there are alot of shaddy stuff going on. Eg, padded figures, fake companies, etc... We can make it work if we pull resources together. I can also offer my assistance to anyone who's ready to take it up.
