Walahi, I had the experience this last week. It was a cough spree for my son last week, on our way from work, we went to see a Dr who prescribed a drug for my son. Ok, we bought the drug and it was 250mg to be taken for 5 days. On taking the first those, my boy didn't sleep from around 1 am till 3:30 am, he was just coughing non stop. I was so scared. We didn't allow him to go to school in order to monitor and give him the drug according to time. By the time he took the 3rd dose, he was relieved.

sorry for my long post and typing errors.

Dear Mamas please from what age do your babies start pre kg/playgroup after creche?

Most schools start at 18months. We just got one for my son as against September, they are allowed to sleep, eat when hungry and they also potty train.

Hello all pls I need help from someone that d child or children has passed through this tonsillitis of a thing, I was on admission with my two year old almost two months back due to highly inflamed tonsils. The temperature was something else even some brand of ibuprofen (u have to get a right brand) could not beat down d temperature. Antibiotics couldn't until they had to give via d veins then after about 5 days he was better and we were discharged to continue with oral antibiotics(one kind brand of cefuroxime) which they gave to us in d hospital. we gave him but the thing is after some days d body started getting hot again we had to go get orelox which was quite expensive but he got better. It's almost two months now but he has started running temperature again and d tonsils are inflamed again. I'm stressed this period as I have issues with bp. Pls is there any home therapy or any way to prevent d tonsillitis stuff? I know about having d tonsils removed but we are just looking at that as d LAST option though. He doesn't go to creche and he hasn't started school. He's mostly at home. We just treated his elder sister of severe tonsillitis though could it be she reinfected him? But with all the plenty antibiotics he has been taking I didn't expect he would catch it so easily. He's been on antibiotics now for 5days and just finished antimalaria but is even getting worse. Pls any ideas?

My son's treatment will end tomorrow. Although ours isn't as serious as you have described. My son started with cough and a high temp, also his appetite has been low for a while and stooling too. We went to the hospital the next day, his tonsils were enlarged, malaria and fbc was carried out. When waiting for the results, the doctor said if the infection was high, then he would need iv antibiotics. Luckily for us, the lymphocytes were not so high, so we got zinnat, zinc for the stool, malaria drugs cos he had 1+ and piriton. Through out all these, he never ran temperature except for the day we took him tp the hospital but upon getting there, his temperature read 36.5.

Maybe you should locate a paediatrician and re-run the test, i doubt if tonsilitis is contagious as it gets swollen due to infection or low immunity as they put random things in their mouths. My son is 16months.

We started at 18 months but used a school with a very flexible play group programme i.e the children sleep anytime they're sleepy, eat at anytime they're hungry and the teachers pottytrain.
OK thanks

I paid 22k for MMR and chicken pox, vit A and Pcv booster was free

I use health centres for immunization and they are free.
The only vaccine you pay for in health centre is rotavirus. Na nurses personal parole as it is not provided by govt. It is BTW 7k to 9k.
Some health centres have outstations where you pay like 300naira for any day you come for vaccine. Na the personal parole of the nurses that run such places.

If you don't have health centre close to you, you can use govt hospitals, but if you are very time conscious, you can pay in private hospitals and get it done.

Madam Hmedix nurse is NOT a paediatrician!!!

You seem bent on self medicating your child and for the life of me I cant even understand why!

Take your baby to the doctor!!!
If you've already done that, then simply administer the drugs that was prescribed for him by the doctor! When you've completed the dosage and theres no change, take your baby back to the doctor! Stop taking chances with your child!!!

The worse thing you can do to a child is to keep buying drugs prescribed by people who know nothing about the working of a child's system just because it worked on theirs!

I dont even know why I'm stressing sef
I took the prescription to H-medix to get the drugs... That was what I meant. I asked some questions here cos I was arguing about the names with DH & I intend asking questions while with the doc again...Also I wanted waiting till evening cos even tho I'm impatient to see result, I know I have to wait for the 3days before going back. Thank you all the same

Calpol is paracetamol
Its the nasal drop, not orally taken, but I'd still check to see if it contains paracetamol. Thank you

Hello ma'am, I don't have experience but there's nothing prayer cannot do. You are the mother of the child, you have to take charge of the situation.

Visit General Hospital ASAP they should have treated series of such cases.

It is well.

Can you look at the sun right now especially if you have a baby between 1-6 months old.

How is your life like the sun?

I know you are tempted to say hot...unbearable....frustrating...looks far away ( like how does this look like me- the former me)

This is because a whole lot has changed since you gave birth.

Just like you can fully observe the difference between night and day.

It is so glaring that even the blind can detect easily and with speed.

I compile vital information that would help you enjoy this wonderful period of your life from experience. It is free.

Read. Share. And let me know the experience you have afterwards.

Let me hint you on one of those secrets in it.

"No one can tell exactly what your baby needs per time. Not even me or the specialist."

I know I can bare my heart here. Honestly these people are driving me crazy. My child had experienced convulsion twice within two months. She was rushed to hospital on those occasions.

In between, local herbs seller made herbs drink for her. After the last incidence, my in laws took her one woman... imagine telling them her child is possessed with 'elegbe'. My hubby couldnt do anything, all he wanted was a lasting solution. The woman ended up giving my child 'gbere' all in the name of convulsion.

Thereafter, my in-laws wanted to take her to see another person but thank God my hubby stopped them, that there is need for it.

MiL came up with another story today that she met one woman, that the woman told if she experienced the convulsion during sleep and brought out saliva, then it is not ordinary. Planning to go and consult traditionalist.

I have read about it on Google, I was dumbfounded when she finished her story. She is a good mother to me but I don't know how tell her that all she was being aren't true. She won't even listen.

Please mothers that have one or two experience about convulsion, when, how and what did you do to it o?

For that don't have the experience, it won't happen to your children o.

May God deliver our children from all calamities of this world.

Sorry for any typos, I am crying typing this

Hello Ma'am,
My kids never had convulsion but my Bossom friend's son had it.
First of all, I know you've been going to the hospital but pls go to a general hospital or a teaching hospital for a comprehensive test, so the cause of the convulsion can be found. In my friend's son case, his was caused by some strange activity in his brain(don't want to go further). She saw a Neurologist.
As much as I believe in medicine, I also believe in the spiritual, every MOTHER is a spiritual being, so pls lay your hands on her and cry out to God on her behalf preferably at midnight. God will wipe away your tears.

Pls mind where you take your child to for healing. Preserve her destiny.
