In my town, we have lived with the Hausas peacefully, they do business with us and they are also trust worthy. We have never had any clash with them. the above coup was a well strategized plan by the 3 regions (note that)
the only problem the northeners had with this decision is that,
Azikiwe was spared, of which the executioners made clear that Zik was only a ceremonial president and had no influence whatsoever on the national affairs,
the prime minister Belewa was the one incharge of everything in the country,
there was no need to kill Zik.
Hence the ethnic problem.
