Garba wants early World Cup preparation for Eaglets
July 13, 2019 7:16 am

Golden Eaglets coach Manu Garba has stated pleaded with the Nigeria Football Federation to give the team the needed preparation ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup holding in Brazil later in the year.

Garba said this in an exclusive chat with brila.net that all the team needs now is adequate and early preparations.
”We want the federation to give us everything to start preparations early and we should be camped in a country closer to Brazil,” Manu concluded.
The Golden Eaglets were drawn alongside Hungary, Australia, and Ecuador.

Do not mind them. I bet they are more interested in siphoning money in the name of Refresher course for Rohr.

Well, I did prove it and showed him to be the Undisputed LIAR ...and here he is again rearing that ugly anti-osimhen head of his. So predictable....

What a joker of a man Komekn is....

Hyping up a Chuks Aneke, alongside Forgiveness , calling him good but unlucky to be where he is now but always quick to talk nonsense about Kelechi Nwakali. Are both not experiencing downturns in their club careers? Tagging Aneke very talented and it is K.nwakali who is not very talented abi?? This guy shifts goalposts whenever English-born Naija players are involved.

People who give Komekn attention here really are part of the reasons Komekn consistently says rubbish. I really don't think such a pretentious vile and selective-biased man like Komekn will make heaven oooo.... His lies and mouth changing abilities rival that of Lucifer himself I am afraid...

Victor Moses is better than those two in the gwg. Victor Moses singlehandedly won us the AFCON.

When he was benched by late Keshi at the beginning of the tournament, we played rubbish but as soon as he was given normal chance to thrive, he became the game changer.

Don't ask who Vicmo epp next time.
I didn't say he was not good. For someone who put up a masterclass performance during the qualifiers, you will expect him to continue at the tournament proper. But dude was playing as if we forced him to play for us. Vicmo is good no doubt, but I hate his nonchalant attitude. Everybody is busy calling for him here as if he won't put up his arrogant attitude on display.

our players underperformed at the WC I agreed. Vicmo is good I agreed. In that Croatia match, you would expect a player of his calibre to show up and carry the team but he was just killing our attack and falling carelessly looking for cheap FKs. Some here believed we would have won this AFCON had vicmo played. That is debatable because we ain't sure of his dedication. If he decided to come back,I will welcome him provided he sought out his attitude. But if not,IMO i will stick to our current wingers. They are young and will only get better.BTW, they are way more totally committed.

Etebo’s durability, Ighalo’s Touch… fun facts from Super Eagles’ AFCON 2019 campaign

Nigerian team celebrating their medal after the 2019 African Cup of Nations match between Tunisia and Nigeria at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
Nigeria finished the 2019 AFCON with the bronze after a drab 1-0 win over Algeria at the Al Salam stadium on Wednesday.

Odin Ighalo’s third minute goal secured the victory for Gernot Rohr, who also won his first AFCON medal after three attempts.

Although the consensus is that the team underachieved, Nigeria’s eight third-placed victory in eight attempts not a consolation, the team’s overall performance came with a few interesting footnotes.

He’s a quick look at four interesting facts about the Eagles’ AFCON 2019 show:

1. Every member of the 23-man squad was given minutes in the competition.
Gernot Rohr handed every member of the squad minutes, as he promised before the tournament.

2. Odion Ighalo scored Nigeria’s first goal in the competition and also the last.

The forward came off the bench in the first game against Burundi and scored four minutes after his introduction.

On Wednesday, he scored the only goal of Nigeria’s third place match against Tunisia; three minutes into the game, it was his fifth of the competition.

3. Oghenekaro Etebo was the only player who featured in all the games and played every minute (630 minutes) in the competition for the Eagles.

The midfielder played all seven games and 630 minutes of regulation time; the only player in the Eagles team during the competition with the most minutes for the team.

4. Francis Uzoho was the only Nigerian goalkeeper who did not concede a goal.
The young goalkeeper was the team’s third choice and got his moment under the “floodlights” for the first time in Egypt in the team’s last game.

Uzoho kept a clean sheet in the 90 minutes against the Carthage Eagles and made just one save.

Compare his output when partnered with a striker in a 4-4-2, 3-5-2 formations with his output when played as a winger out and wide. Musa needs to be closer to the goalpost.

Kelechi Nwakali downturn has nothing to do with injury.

But Chucks Aneke who rose from league one to the Belgium Pro League within two full seasons with an individual outstanding performance experienced downturns in his second full season in the Belgium Pro League after he sustained an injury that lasted for almost one year(half of 2015/16 season - half of 2016/17 season). That injury forced him to go back to England. He sustained another one for two and half months in 2016/2017 season.

Despite the downturns, he rose to the Championship within the last two seasons from league two.

Chuks Aneke downturns have nothing to do with lack of game time or poor performance.
