Did u know that until this bronze Metal yesterday, Rohr had never won even a plastic medal throughout his coaching career that has spanned more than 29years now? No wonder my man was so elated when that medal hung down his neck grin

I really want Rohr gone, he is so outdated and the way he sets up his team reeks of cowardice. I want him gone so that this team can improve, since we already have the talents. But, since Pinnick says otherwise, I just gotta take solace in the fact that he might wanna finish what he has started already, by that I mean getting us uduokhai, Ademola, Tomori and Onomah. He has made the move already, lets hope he raps it up before he leaves.

Are you serious about this? shocked shocked

What about Eze?

And it even wasn't a clear save. A more clinical striker would've converted it

my overall assessment of our performance at the AFCON is that we where a quality or half decent central midfielder away from winning the title or at least getting to the final. Mikel who should have played that role was unfortunately injured/off form. unlike other 3rd places finishes i'm left feeling more hopeful about our football future.

going forward at least 2 of our current goalkeepers have to bid the Super Eagles goodbye and one of those should be Akpeyi even though i don't blame him for the goals conceded he doesn't offer that top quality required of someone playing for Nigeria. madu okoye, alampasu? plus any talented home based keeper should be able to fill in

defence looks good in the short to long term. fullbacks were decent Aina came into his own while collins did well also. Awaziem excelled in his makeshift role but obviously he will eventually end up as a CB. ebuehi's return will in the short term settle the issue of the RB. shehu is a decent fallback option but would be surprised if he continues to be a core member of the team. another LB should be scouted to give collins good competition (sorry not idowu). CB is also decent going forward hope tomori or uduokhai can add that distinct quality. valentine also looks a good future prospect

ndidi had an average tournament going by his high standards in the EPL. he needs good competition. As a matter of urgency/emergency we need to get a quality CM hopefully between the nwakali brothers, josh onomah, azubuike okechuckwu, ifeanyi matthew, bashiru, nfoborh etc somebody will step up. iwobi also needs good competition hopefully we can get ebere eze to commit to us. Ogu thank you for your service and sacrifice but time to say goodbye wish you the best in your club career. onazi might still play a limited role but all depends if injury hasn't greatly reduced his form.

attack looks good too we are over blessed right now in the wing position with bonaventure, olayinka, okereke, lookman? waiting in the wings. the striker position needs more understudies to ighalo who has more than proven he's our undisputed number one striker. i'm optimistic between osimhen, KC, Awoniyi, Onuachu, Success at least 2 of them will offer suitable support or back up. musa as a winger cum forward with onyekuru as back up is also tasty.

in an ideal world if i was in charge of the nff and had enough money to spend i would have asked rohr to go and comb the netherlands for a good dutch tactician but the reality is the state of nigerian football administration is less than ideal. will the next coach be mature and calm in working with the nff, players media fans like rohr has? which nigerian coach is ready not just from a tactical angle but is reasonably honest, has emotional intelligence, knows how to motivate? sadly a lot for now may be strong in one area but grossly deficient in the other 2 however we keep searching. speaking realistically i think rohr should stay on but if anyone should be sent on a refresher course/attachment it should be imama amakapabo. he's already a key member of the technical crew, he's nigerian plus in any eventuality that rohr for any reason can't continue he will fit in seamlessly as the next coach having known the players and system.

all told the future is very bright for the Super Eagles

Despite his nonchalant attitude, he won you the AFCON and qualified you to the WC.

Did Rohr use the same formation he used during the qualifiers at the WC?

won us AFCON and qualified us for WC? did he do it singlehandedly?
As for the formation, for the Croatia match, yes he did. Vicmo even played his favourite position but BABA no show up.

At 16 what great attribute of a striker did Ighalo have? Even at 20

Ighalo was playing in Laliga at 20 he must have had something to be in La liga you are being UNKIND.

But we are talking about the HERE and NOW not speculative assumption. A player the Management has said he currently lacks what it takes.

Look at SE strikers of the past and present.

Yakubu, Yekini, Ighalo, Anichibe. Odemwingie, Ideye. Emenike, Obagoal, Ikpeba. Look at thier attributes all of them had a good degree of physicallity and the best strikers were the strongest physically speaking.

So a good degree of physicality is a must have not just a desirable among other essential attributes.

Never heard about it.

Similar to Euro Nations league

36 Teams are separated into 3 leagues; League A, League B and League C

What league a country belongs to depends on FIFA ranking.

Nigeria for example is in league A along with the superpowers of African football.

12 countries are in league A and they will be separated into 4 groups of 3 teams each.

League B: 8 teams with 2 groups of 4 teams each

League C: 8 teams with 2 groups of 4 teams each

League D: 8 teams with 2 groups of 4 teams each

Each team in the groups will play home and away.

Teams that qualify as first in each group of League A (4 teams) will then face off in a semi-final (home and away).

A final will then be played in a chosen venue.

Teams that come last in each group of League A (4 teams)will be demoted to League B

While four best performing teams in League B will replace the relegated teams from League A

The same style of promotion and demotion also applies to teams in League C and League D

It is styled after the Euro Nations league I think

After watching the 3rd place match between Nigeria and Tunisia, i think:

1. Ighalo remains the most lethal and composed striker Nigeria has, no wonder Rohr stuck with him all through and he paid back with 5 goals.
2. Our goalkeeping wahala continues
3. Our midfield requires a good ball holder and distributor cuz Etebo and Ndidi play very similar roles.
4. Musa needs to be relegated to the bench in future matches to give room for upcoming fast wingers
5. Our central defenders can do better than what they are doing.

Above all, Rohr has proven to be a very good coach who should be retained to build a world class team.
Congratulations to our darling Super Eagles!!!
