All the best goalkeepers that have ever played for the super eagles came from the league..
It's rather difficult for African goalkeepers to be first choice at top clubs in Europe, hence the local league is the first place to search for them.. Almost all the countries at this AFCON had a goalkeeper from their local league.. That Aloys Agu is just being lazy that's why we are still stuck with Ezenwa and Akpeyi for 3 years .
Maduka Okoye should join the u-23 .. The league he currently plays in is too low abeg..
I can list at least two more keepers after Afelokai that's in the local league and in good age;

Olorunleke Ojo
Itodo Akor

if we are looking for u23 GK talent from the league it'd be a hard search. The league is terrible for outfield player's development, how much more Gk

You didn't mention ike uche, he is not physical but still out scored half of your list so your point isn't valid.

Please take time to understand what l am saying.

I did not say physical l said Physicality.

Ike Uche was an exceptionally technically gifted player that had physical ability in otherwords he wasn't weak but still physically strong.

that is to say has been eating Yam and not Potatoes.

Okay, Maduka tried to join the U23 though, but his club blocked his effort.

I'm looking at him for third choice goalie, which is more of a learning position if you have a decent first and second choice goalie (positions that can be filled by the NPFL players)

And while it is easy to blame Alloy Agu, let us be reminded that Alloy Agu was not the GK coach when calamitous Agbim was a goalie for Nigeria.

please always try to make your comments brief and straight to the point.
it takes too many space....

and for the last paragraph....please go help us beg him to come out of retirement....
you guys believe that we will never get the best...pessimism at its peak.
I believe the next striker gonna be more lethal and deadly than him.
I wish him...well, he has paid his dues...

him leaving gonna pave way for the next hungry lad

If being hungry was the prerequisite for succes nobody would poor.

We are being REALISTIC you simply are not, you are wishing for the best.

All I can say to you is;

"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride ".

At worst it'd be around that range. Obagoal wasn't on the high side, they are of same height by my judgement

But Obagoal was very fast and physical. I doubt Odey s like that now

Na to de prepare for afcon '21 already sef.

Meanwhile the Int'l break, we must utilize it well. Best time to bring new boys. Friendly against at least Two (Asian) countries would be okay

They should've used the CAF Nations League concept as a way of qualifying for AFCON 2021. I don't know how the CAF international calendar will pan out, but hopefully the nations league and qualifiers won't be exhausting.

You're doubting physicality from a player that bossed the NPFL? Need I tell you of gragra soccer ?

He's also mobile, I don't consider only speed as a quality for a striker. Some of his games at FC Zuerich showed he's mobile.
At Genk he should be able to develop more in that role

Just what I suggested.. let the regular players take a rest for the next two international break..By September we would see some of our boys in good form for their clubs.

The u-23 even have a game in September which means our best u-23 players will be available then .

You actually believed that a nation league was going to take place ?
As far as I know, CAF haven't released any official statement regarding a nation league yet...No official report of them giving the idea a thought either..

An African nation league isn't possible if the AFCON continues biennially and it won't be fair to use it as a qualification tournament for the AFCON either..

The leagues already came out. We are in league A.

They are yet to release the fixtures however.

I expected some more details, for instance l watched him play or seen him in training or l talked to hus coaches, these are his attributes and his deficiencies, etc, etc.

How many goals has he scored this season.

How many professional games, etc

It's just l haven't heard much about him and so I'm sure many others do too.

So tell me d tory about d player.

The last time I saw him played, I noticed he plays like Tiago Silva.

He is the kind of defender a team can build from the defence. Can give decent passes, drive the ball into the midfield and good at set piece.

A kind of Balogun player too.

Someone told me Ojo has been released by Akwa. A very good keeper but prone to costly mistakes.

The SE isn't an age grade team, this "young and fresh blood" hymn is getting lame.

I didn't know the mistakes part sef. He was very impressive at Sunshine Stars, I dont think it'd be hard for him to get a club.

He's known to be humble, he cant dictate where he wants to play
The coaches just prefer using him as a winger for tthe national sides unlike his clubsides.

And must you be tall to strike?

Jesus
Aguero
Ayews
uche
Martins
etc

I agree with you on this. Ahmed Musa started as a striker and he became the highest goal scorer in the NPFL before he moved to the Eredivise where he was converted to a winger.

At CSKA Moscow, he thrived as a SS or S.

I think his position is SS.

Tall, agile, good with his feet and a penalty expert. I was always going to talk about the guy here but once he has a good number of performances going.....booom!! A horrible mistake. He was the reason Akwa was kicked out of the continent and he had already made mistakes in the same competition. Still he finished the season well and I was again ready to sing his praises, all he had to do for me was start the season well grin buuuut he goes on to attempt that maradona goal against England grin let's just say he was dispossessed and ended up costing us the game. You have to give my guy credit because he still fought his way into the XI but come super 6 his b*stard village people struck again and now what my connect at the stadium told me was that he would be attacked if he ever enters stadium again. So thank god he is moving. I don't think he ever got over his first mistake but a new club will help him.

Reading some comments here make me smile.

Can't believe some people here wants to hand over the SEs defense to Ekong and Omuero... Hahaha.

Leon Balogun is still much relevant. He only needs to get run of games and he 'll be back to his best again. Don't forget he is just 31. I mean 31.

Omeruo is decent but...... Ekong! Hmmm!

The only keeper I have in mind is Dele Alampasu and that is because when I saw him in Uyo he was so hard to beat and then you remember he is 6'4.

My problem is the average age of NPFL keepers, I also respect Itodo Akor.
