MTN Nigeria has change the loading pattern on its recharge cards across Nigeria.

The latest MTN card now has 10 digit recharge PIN and new loading code *3551*10 digit pin#, against *555*PIN#.

The new development, Techplace24.com believes that below issues might be the reason;

1. To reduce Recharge card hacking and other recharge card fraudulent activities.

2. Other telecom provider might be using same loading pattern (i.e, *555*PIN#)

3. A new upgrade or change of system might had warrant the new development.

4. Change of partnership deal with recharge card producers.

I agree with your point 2. Airtel has a seperate recharge code for *555# that gives you some 3x what you recharged. Almost cried when i use 1k say make i take sub o, In my subconscious, I accidentally typed *555* instead of *126# for airtel cus i dey used to recharging mtn more often. As i dial finish con send naim my heart first skip. 1k gone, Them gimme their useless 3k call credit wey dey like usain bolt ontop sim wey i no dey use for calls. That was a painful experience for me

Your number two very correct. But they will have better reasons and maybe an upgrade in their system requires they do that too.

Your grammar is very poor. You need a good editor to help you proofread and edit contents. I can help, though.

Airtel data subscription is worse. I use 9 mobile and airtel together. Though I use 9mobile more, I still recharge my data for airtel more than 2 times a week. I'm talking 3.5g while 2.5g 9mobile can stay for almost a month. Rubbish airtel

Rubbish reasons!

You can't change 555 that many people have known all their lives to another sinusoidal code that's not easy without warming their hearts to it. When they increased the recharge pin from 12 to 16 , they didn't think how we'd all feel - they just did. All we their customers thought whenever we were recharging then was an airtel/glo/9mobile given to us instead of the MTN we requested for.

In fact, even the "call me back" which could be done by just editing a number and adding the necessary codes and just send to the intended recipient was changed and made more difficult.

MTN does not make life easy for its customers. I got mtn card of #1000 and #500 last night , then I discovered this useless change.

When *555*1*PIN# came out, we heard when we add that 1, part of the money goes to Obasanjo. We were advised to stop adding 1 and use *555*PIN# grin

So I ask, who gets the part of this one?
