Thank God for you, my Dad had same experience a couple of years ago, he wokeup at mid night to ease. By morning my mum saw a cobra trapped at his strong iron door. My dad was having sight ish and didn't even noticed it

This has been my worry ever since i moved down here, i even bought bitterkola and kept in almost all the room corners but still my mind never rest.......

It's the West African forest cobra. Its venom is potent and deadly. A grown man may not survive it after 2 hours.

By the way, I don't know where nairalanders get the idea that its is a black mamba. Black members are not black. It's the inside of their mouth that is pitch black and it is rare in western africa. Only the green mamba is found here.

E be like say a lot of nairalanders dey live for jungle where they are in close proximity with dangerous animals. Snake stories too much here

Blacki gini? Oga, just keep kwayet already. You don't know jack about snakes. Black mambas are not black at all. They are greenish. They only have a blackish inner mouth.
That might just be a non poisonous snake
It is almost difficult to identify the species of that snake from that picture. Mind you, about 60% of West African snakes are not poisonous.
