The best midfielder in the game between naija and Algeria the guy plays for notthingham forest in the championship and the guy is 33

But once a player is 30 in naija dem go say e don old for national team ,but if you tell them say their player use football age dem go say Na lie

But why will a player be 2 old to play at the national team at 30 ? When Thiago Silva alves and co did it

One question for those who have these nonsensical beliefs.

How old is Ronaldo ❓ How old is Danny Alves❓❓ Finally, how old is Thiago Silva? ❓❓❓

If you add into the equation " football age " in the Nigerian context how many of our footballers are using thier actual age

So let's leave that matter

I hv seen both play but sentiment aside aribo is more talented and works harder for his team than onomah who seem uninterested sometimes.

Aribo is left-footed and versatile as well. He scores goals too
komekn:

My preference for the position would be Onomah.

Am not supposed to even mention Thiago Silva and co talkless of Cr7

If you are playing in week in week out then you can be invited irrespective of your age

Some are suggesting balogun career should be over ,I will only agree if he continues to warm the bench at Brighton ,but if he get game time I will not agree

Hmmm

But ajagun didn't have a good season at Cyprus or so

Ajagun best time was his panathinakos days but I think keshi was incharge then ,you know how keshi dey do him own thing ,he even took Ramon Azeez to the World Cup ,flavor nabania also ,uche nwofor ,u know the rest

I take exception to Ramon Aziz that you called. Ramon was a LA liga player at that time getting regular game time. Flavor should have been in the studio or at a musical concert. But Nwafor at that time was a rave of the moment, remember d goals he scored in some friendlies to deserve us.

Don't mind them, the problem with naija is that once an old player has one or two bad games, they would write him off and force a retirement on him. Just before the last World Cup, everyone was talking about how we couldn't play without John Obi Mikel. Gosh, we even gave it a name: "Mikel dependence."

Now, Mikel has one bad game and everybody is singing hallelujah that he's retiring. That's exactly how we force retired Jay Jay and we're still searching for a playmaker to this day! While some other people are force retiring Jude Ighalo even when it's obvious to the blind that we don't have another out and out striker!

I weep for naija footie sha.

O pari

I don't know what is wrong with you and Andrew44 though. I don't mean it in a bad way.

The names you people keep mentioning have been known to be great players from the youth right to this minute.

These are players that have been consistent for more than 10 years, always playing anywhere they find themselves. leave from big clubs to big clubs.

Can these be said of our own old legs?

Maybe we should keep Mikel, Ogu, Joel Obi, Akpeyi, Ezenwa then just because some just cant see the name of Balogun on the list of old legs that should leave.

We have alot of good young defenders that needs space to play but we don't want to make way for them, using wrong comparison as excuses.

Which of our old legs are consistent or can make the first team of all the names you mentioned?

You know better than this ,how can you judge a player by saying he is too short to win headers ,is that what football is all about ?

And mind you am not a fan of ajagun and I feel the players in super eagles that was invited are better than him

But for you to judge player by height you no try at all ,should I list short players that plays in the midfield ,I will not even list the popular ones ,but Matthieu valbuena says hello ,and this is a player with more than 50 appearance for France .

An average player will never win 50 caps for France

I said his height MAY be a liability.

But you may be right

Gbam

It will be wrong to compare our average players with World class players who are not even consistent

Age or not some players are just too good to ignore while other are poor/average even from youth

Andrew was referring to Almeria B sir and not Heereveen B. For the records, before the 2014 WC Ramon Azeez was an Almeria senior player and not in team B. Secondly Nwofor scored 3 goals in 2 games for Nigeria before the WC and was not a Heereveen B team player sir.

Talking about heereveen B I was referring to Uche nwofor who was a regular for the Dutch club's 2nd team. Azeez was a regular for Almeria when he was picked for 2014 world cup MA!

If you are playing week in week out, the coach have his choice, he might pick you he might not pick you, this is simple

Awoniyi was consistent and onauchu was constitent but the coach choose onauchu because thats his choice, that doesnt mean awoniyi is bad

Akpeyi should also remain.

Mikel should not retire o abeg since he is still in a good club and to play always.

we need consistency and if you are to reduce the numbers of inconsistent players, you start with the old legs since they have less room to learn.

except we all believe that Ekong, Omeruo and Awaziem have not been aactive in their various clubs and also not younger, then and then should one of them leave for a younger /consistent defender.

You can't be good and consistent yet sit on the bench for a whole season and still be making your national team list except there are no BETTER REPLACEMENTS!
