DMainMan:

Yes there is but still fall under same category of same body of family visa. Talking of different category

https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse

If you’re applying as a fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner

You must prove that:

any previous marriages or civil partnerships have ended
you plan to marry or become civil partners within 6 months of arriving in the UK

You will not be able to work during your engagement.

That is not the point, there is something called fiancé visa, that is the whole point of the argument.

DMainMan:

There is nothing like fiance visa. It is spousal visa.

You cannot apply for spousal visa with marriage visitor visa.

Another option to do is for you to apply as a student and get Tier 4 General student visa.

With the Tier 4 visa, you can marry in the UK and apply for spousal visa.

Good luck.

I goggle it there is fiancé visa. Read the link. I am still reading it. I also saw in spouse thread some one that want to know which one is better either spouse or fiancé visa

http://www.visabureau.com/uk/fiance-visa.aspx
UK Fiance Visa - UK Visa Bureau

The student route is very expensive.

Village people are talking through your wife, she doesn't know what that process involves.Once you overstayed that visa + lying in your application form..when it comes to applying for a stay your crime book will be opened.

Avoid making things even more difficult as its.

Lawyers will pay mortgage on your head and while all these are going on you are not allowed to work

Many thanks for your advice. Please what do you suggest I do if you find yourself in this mess. Please I need soln to my problem. I need to leave with my wife legally as we av really stayed apart from each other.

We av told you what to do.

Go back to Nigeria. then:
a. You and your wife come to Nigeria and marry then apply for spousal visa
b. Apply for fiance visa, marry in the UK and then apply for spousal visa
c. Apply for student visa, marry in the UK and then apply for a spousal visa

Note that with marriage visitor visa, you can only use it to marry in the UK, You cant extend your visa or switch. You will still need to
go back to Nigeria and apply for spousal visa for settlement.

Choose any option that is most convenient for you depending on your circumstance.

Don't waste money on any lawyer who just wants to use your money. Dont lie in your application and don't overstay.
Dont look for short cut.

Hi Justwise,

Thank you for coming back to me. I have not submitted and will be thinking of doing it possibly next week when I have calmed down and thinking straight :-). I still appreciate any help. I did seek legal counsel and there were suggestions to apply for a pre-action protocol but I have not fully explored that yet. Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Justwise,

Huge thanks for your response. I am planning to resubmit today and please see below the documents I am hoping to attach. I hope it is not overkill.

1. In the question "How much money are you planning to spend on your visit to the UK?". I am still confused on what to write because the last application, I wrote £1500 and they assumed that was the amount of money my Mum wanted to spend which obviously was not in her account even though on the next question "Will anyone be paying towards the cost of your visit?" we said Yes and included my husband's details and added the cost of £1500. It appears they want us to say £0 for the first question. The question does not make it clear that it is asking what the cost of the trip is to the applicant. The form does not allow you put £0 so I have put £10 for my Mum and then £1500 under the sponsor part. Is this sensible?
2. Mum's Bank Statement and I have highlighted all the transactions of money I send to her in case ECO cannot see well.
3. Tenancy Agreement to show my Mum lives with my sister in Lagos Nigeria
4. My sister's passport. (should she include a cover letter stating my Mum lives with her and should she add her employment stuff, etc? or not).
5. My UK Current Bank Account and Payslip to show the origin of funds I send to her. I have also highlighted these transactions.
6. My GTB Bank Statement showing transfers to my Mum (I highlighted them).
7. My Azimo receipts (to show how I transfer the money from my UK account to GTB account and then to my Mum's account).
8. SU07 Sponsorship Letter
9. Letter of Invitation from husband as sponsor.
10. My husband's 6 month's bank statement and payslip including Savings Account which has the funds for sponsoring her (over £10k)
11. Mortgage and Title Deeds
12. Utility Bill
13. My Birth Certificate
15. My Marriage Certificate
16. Husband and I's Passport and BRP
17. Cover Letter explaining and addressing their refusal points which was just on finances, etc. Should I include that my Mum has no intention to stay beyond her 3 weeks because she will be lonely as my sister will have gone back and husband and I work full time and we don't have kids. My Mum does not have any friends or family here so I don't know what they think she will be doing. She is 67 and does not even work.
18. Should my sister include a cover letter?
19. I am planning to include photos of my Mum with my siblings and her sister to show she has ties to Nigeria.

Thank you so much for your help. I intend to submit tonight and upload documents on Saturday. She will do walk in on 22nd July by God's grace and the wait begins. I need all of God's help to prevent them from ruining our well planned summer.

Faced exact issues, I left my at Zero pounds and went further to explain on my cover letter. Some questions on their form can be ambiguous depending on the peculiarity of each applicant. You can clarify using a cover letter or the last Box on the form asking if you have any further information.

Did you get the visa after putting zero pounds? I am just curious. Thanks for your reply.

The money should be same since your mum is not paying anything for her proposed travel as your sponsor will pay everything she needs. I have done this and it was successful. The question in another form means how much does your mum require for travel to the UK. So do you mean your mum need 0 pound for her travel to the UK if you put 0 pounds there.

This does not mean flight. It means all expenses she will need hence flight, UK accommodation, UK feeding and other expenses

Hence put same 1500 pounds for your mum and sponsor.

Your mum should also write a cover letter stating that your husband is responsible for everything including flight, accommodation, feeding and everything. Account for the flight money, feeding , accommodation and everything. Do an itinerary of travel. Account for how your mum will use the 1500 pounds for three weeks in your mum cover letter. Explain everything and let everything be equal to 1500 pounds.

Your husband should also state in his letter of invitation that he is responsible for your mum flight, accommodation, feeding and everything. Also he should that hence they should focus only on his husband bank statement for evidence and that your mum bank statement is just to show her proof of address.

From the refusal letter, the reason why they rejected your mum application is because you also stated that your mum will meet the cost of the trip. You didn't state that your sponsor will pay for everything in her trip.

Because of she stated she and your sponsor will pay for the trip, they looked at her account also. Obviously they will reject the visa because she is retired and has only 100,000 naira. They rejected the visa because of your mum financial circumstances does not reflect her ability to pay for her proposed visit.

Y did you say your mum and sponsor will pay for the trip. Y didn't u state only your sponsor is responsible. Follow the above guidelines if you want a visa.

Look at your refusal letter again and address it. Don't rush.

Good luck.

let me save this information for future reference too

Your monthly salary income must not be twice your proposed trip.

So your budgeted amount should be less than N549780.

According to Oanda, which is what UK Home office use, https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/,

1200 pounds is N537,806

The budget for your trip for 1200 pounds.

Return flight budget is okay. 555.49 pounds

Budget for feeding. 50 pounds per day. 50 times 8: 400 pounds.

Taxi and transport from airport to your destination: 60 pounds

Taxi and transport from destination to airport when going back home: 60 pounds

One week bus ticket within city transport: 20 pounds

Shopping and Miscellaneous: 104.51 pounds.

This gives 1200 pounds. In addition, your sister should include her passport, documents, tenancy agreement and utility bill. In her letter of invitation, she should clearly state that she is responsible for your accommodation and that you and your baby will live with her in her house.

You also need to submit your vital documents such as cover letter stating reason you are traveling and state the above budget there and that you are returning back to Nigeria. Also include in your cover letter that you will be living with your sister in her accommodation that she has offered you to stay there for free. Include your employment letter, letter from company approving your travel stating the day you at travelling and the day you will return to Nigeria, proof of home ties such as land. Consent letter from your husband stating that he allows and you will return to Nigeria (state the date of travelling to the UK and return to Nigeria).

In your bank statement, your monthly salary must be reflected. Any huge money and unusual money you lodge in your account should be accounted for and explained in your cover letter.

Include birth certificate of your baby, and marriage certificate to proof relationship of your baby and your husband.

Good luck.

1.Since you and your husband are paying for everything then put zero there because she will not be paying a penny towards the trip then on the question.."Will anyone be paying towards the cost of your visit? select yes, your cover letter will explain all the details.

Your mum is visiting you so she doesn't need to show spending money etc

You can include every other things in that list

Hi,

Want to lend my voice if you dont mind

You should use the part of more information on the form very well but brief, state clearly her statement is just for proof of address (they sometimes dont read cover letters well if too lengthy)

Include an introduction letter for your mum and state clearly what she is doing and who is paying for her trip.

Include a budget breakdown of the cost, flight, etc should all amount to the 1,500 as stated.

Best of luck

I picked you my passport today with 6 months visa. This was my second application. My first application came back with a refusal letter with the claim that my fix deposit is in doubt and how I accumulated such wealth.

As advised by justice and co, I addressed that section by providing answers to how I got the money although I have an unregistered business which makes up 70% of my fund, I just told them is it a side business and I provided receipts, invoices and legal commission agreement with the company.
( Note: I addressed my denial on the extra section of the application form and cover letter. Also, note that my employer does not pay money into my account. We receive salaries by hand).

Hello guys,

So I want to travel on a tourist visa to the UK, I work and have money paid by my employer into my account every month. My worry is my sister has been paying some money into my account and this is different from my salary from work. Before my father died he owned houses so when he died the houses were taken over by my sister and I and we rented out to tenants. So this is where this money my sister pays comes from, how do I show to the visa officer that this money from my sister comes from rents?

Please note that I only have one sibling and that is my sister so there was no will or anything from my father, we just took over the property after he died so no documents to show we both own the houses except for one land that he already put our names on a long time ago.
