I am using this forum to commend the people behind the UNARGUABLY, best registrars in OBODO NIGERIA. VERITAS REGISTRARS IS THE BEST AMONG EQUAL. I AM 100% SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM THEM. THE SPEED AT WHICH MY STALE AND UNCLAIMED DIVIDENDS OF OVER 12 YEARS WAS EXECUTED LEFT ME SALIVATING. NO BARRIER TO PAYMENT OF THE DIVIDENDS. IT AMAZED ME. AFTER MAILING THE E. MANDATE FORM , I WAS ASKED TO FORWARD MY CSCS STATEMENT. FEW DAYS LATER, AFTER DOING THE NEEDFUL, YOU CAN GUESS ABOUT THE EXPECTATIONS. I SAY THANKS TO VERITAS REGISTRARS. PLS KEEP IT UP. DO NOT STOP THE FLAME OF PERFORMANCE THAT IS LIGHTNING YOUR COMPANY. BRAVO FOR A GOOD SERVICE. FROM YOUR HAPPY CUSTOMER. TO AFRIPRUDENT... I ADVISED YOU TO REGISTER FOR A REFRESHER COURSE AT VERITAS REGISTRARS. THE EMAIL YOU ARE SENDING OUT TO EVALUATE YOUR PERFORMANCE AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION WOULD NOT DO THE MAGIC. YOU CANNOT TRADE WITH MY DIVIDENDS FOREVER, IT IS A MATTER OF TIME, I WILL SURELY GET ALL MY DIVIDENDS FROM YOU. 3 Likes |

Something for everyone to ponder on.: The global financial markets are "tuned" to the United States Dollar (USD). The foreign reserve of most countries are stored as either USD or Gold. If there is a rate cut in the USD what will be the effect on the Nigerian Naira and by extension the price of stocks on the NSE? is there the possibility of a rate cut in the USD within the near future? The bullish move seen on Gold this week, can that be a pointer to something that's about to happen to the USD? The wise man sees danger (or opportunity) afar off and prepares himself. Enjoy your weekend as you carefully ponder on the thoughts above. All the best! |

Agbalowomeri: The rule is not based on a 3-month period like u said, but over the period of ones ACTIVE lifespan... A breakdown: The benchmark was actually drawn from a person's investment CASHFLOW and not their investment ASSET !! The basic essence is to look at what %(in real terms) of ur monthly income(cashflow/inflow excluding RE investment) can cover up for ur expense line(outflow excluding repayments) from the period of ur independence down to retirement. ...therein lies the weight/level of ones financial dependence or independence. I believe the computation was derived from the 4% rule... which looks at the rate or how well ur income line can cover up for ur expense line in 300 multiples(300x) From the formula; % financial freedom= [(current inv/300)÷(monthly expense)] X 100, the numerator(current inv/300) actually signifies a person's investment CASHFLOW. The argument is that one 'can' at least earn y/300 value from any productive investment... assuming that y is the total value of their current investment.(i.e a N3000000 total current inv should at least drive a N10,000 monthly earnings) That formula was what was simplified to; current inv/(3 x ur monthly expense), which is where @ Godlylifeoneart highlighted. Bottom line: The CASHFLOW/YIELD(current inv/300) from ones investment was used to arrive at the base formula to ascertain the level of a person's financial freedom. I think the lesson here is in the need to ALWAYS have a workable but efficient balance sheet(asset against liabilities), while looking to continually improve on it by increasing our income to expense ratio.(expand on inflow and contract on outflow) ...that to me, is the KEY to financial freedom !! 2 Likes |

rebekah2011: These 2 coys are worth been on one's watch list !! The 2nd is really coming off on a nice footing after going thru quite some rough patches. ...while the 1st has a huge prospect ahead of it. I Like it as much as I do like MAY & BAKER. Though I think the price(of fidson) needs to come down a little to create a much better VALUE behind it. It is well !! |

robobo: When next u experience this, just be patient and don't cancel or replace ur order. ...it will eventually be filled. Sometimes the reason for it is error related. ...and at other times, its difficult not to tag it as the result of manipulation. A lot happen in the 'NSE room' my dear. It's a 'room' that requires u to utilise ur sensory organs more than u naturally would at other times. Sure u got the drift. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 1:44pm On Jul 20, 2019 |
Chibuking81: U are right for the most part my dear !! But with the part in bold, there is really no certainty. ...there are also instances when as 1st on the queue(irrespective of ur position on the bid/order queue... whether 1, 2 3 4...), ur order could be partially filled... only for the next order after u to be filled before u get another fill/match(if any) Like I said before, a lot happen in the 'NSE room', which sometimes, can be the result of error in transmission. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 1:57pm On Jul 20, 2019 |
Godlylifeoneart: There was indeed a country !! Oh Nigeria !! I have always said that Nigeria is simply a portfolio country. This is what u get when a country clearly lacks a coherent model to expand its income stream brought about by a weak diversification in revenue drive and an even weaker spend on infrastructural development. No surprises at all on why all the huge borrowings hasn't managed to translate/impact on the real sector. Even with all the current spate of borrowings, they are still looking for more and even much more !! ...with no REAL impact to drive the economy. It's not enough to get/have these 'floats'... effective and efficient management and utilization is the KEY to impact. Won't also be surprised if VAT is increased in no distant time. Utter clueless !! ...can't think of a better way to describe the current government dispensation. May God continue to help and guide us !! 3 Likes |

meshpips: This had been discussed here long ago. There is going to be a rate cut this July. I believe it will be 25 basis point. But the Market seem to want 50 basis points cut. We will see what happens July 30th to 31st. All Central banks around the world are currently cutting rates. CBN had one and will definitely have another one once Fed cuts rate this July. On the effect on NSE, it should have a bullish effect because FPI will have to direct their attention to economies that stocks have very low valuations and fixed income instrument yields are high. As Fed lowers rates, borrowing rates are lowered ad well which will make money readily available for risk taking. The more Fed cuts, the more the risk. On the fixed income space, we can see that yields are falling on Tbills(11+% for 365 days). Meanwhile stocks are giving 13.5% on Dividend yields at Friday's closing. Definitely this low valuations of NSE will not go unnoticed by smart investors. 10 Likes |

Agbalowomeri: The return on investment is what really matters. That return must be able to cover your 2-3 times your expenses on a monthly basis. Why was your monthly expense not just used but 2-3 times of it used instead? I believe that a factor of safety had been included by either doubling or tripling the expenses. Your expenses may not have factored in medical cost(as you age, you see doctor often), repairs or replacement of vehicles over time, renovation of house and other unforeseen expenses. So when you can comfortably plan and offset all these over time, then you are financially free. In summary, the return on investment divided by 2 to 3 times your monthly expenses should give you 1 or above 1. Anything below 1 could leave you struggling after early retirement or normal retirement. 2 Likes |

RabbiDoracle: Question: If we already have the rate at 2.35 as at June FOMC meeting, why should anyone expect more than a maximum of 10 basis point cut? The Fed fund rate has a target range of 2.25 - 2.50 Dropping by 25 basis points will take them BELOW their MINIMUM target range. The only worry for them would be inflation which is currently BELOW 2%. They want to maintain it at a symmetric 2% |

CAN PEOPLE WITH BRAIN DAMAGE OUTPERFORM IN INVESTING? https://adamfayed.com/can-people-with-brain-damage-outperform-in-investing/ It seems ridiculous, but is it really possible for somebody with brain damage, which affects the decision making parts of our brain, to beat the average investor and many professionals? A team of academics started a simple game. Starting off with $30, you would risk $1 on a coin flip (or pass and risk no loss) if the coin came up as tails. If the coin came up as heads, you won $2.50. So a 50/50 chance of gaining $2.50, and a 50/50 chance of losing $1. The game lasted for twenty rounds. People with ‘normal’ brain functioning were reluctant to bet, even though the chances of winning were much greater than 50%, due to the extra $1.50 on offer for winning. Or put another way, if you won on 10 rounds ($25 gained), and lost on 10 rounds ($10 lost), you would be up by $15. Even if you lost on 12-13 rounds, you would still be up. So the rational decision would be to bet on every round. What is interesting, is that they were most likely to stop flipping the coin after experiencing a loss in the last round – ‘once bitten twice shy’. The pain of losing $1 discouraged these people from trying to win $2.50. In comparison, the people with brain damage that included damaged emotional circuits bet on around 85% of rounds, even when they had previously lost $1 in the previous round. The result? The people with brain damage outperformed by 13%-15%! In investing, many professional investors lose money, relative to the market, because of the fear of losses as well. That doesn’t mean we should all hit ourselves over the head with a sledgehammer to get better investment results. But it merely shows that the fear of losses is lurking in our brains, and overcoming this fear can increase your returns more than simply having great investment knowledge. 1 Like
