If your bank statement has done 5.9m this year alone and you have a land as collateral, I see no reason why you should not approach your bank or other banks for loan. Only gullible or greedy persons will agree to deal with you. Kenni700: |

ahiboilandgas: Sir, it would be helpful as well to point out the risks along with the smooth ideas. A Keke and business center will definitely return more at a higher risk, you can lose your capital if not done right. You would also need to invest time. On the other hand, Tbills comes with negligible risk and require close to zero time investment. It is something you always fail to mention, the more the risk exposure the higher the profit margin. You can make double your capital and more, oh yeah, I have seen it. Question is how rugged is your risk appetite? Do you have the time and strength to follow up? 14 Likes |

My brother school fees in ireland is still 1200 euro but we bought at 220 before n9w 404 so holding naira asset has big risk.....look at the makinde asset 3.8 million dollars euro bond at 7 percent we learn through other successful people osinbajo 900 thousand pound ..majority of fund into tb are pension fund of 8 trillion naira where the pension contributors don't have control over the money (example if your pension accounts has 10m in 2013 that around 50000 dollars but now 13m which is 36m dollars so it the pensioner lost ...while bank that invest use people money in saving accounts at 4 percent and earn 11 percent from tb .....but the saving account is naira and the bank pay back naira so it the saver that is at risk 1 Like |

The law of demand and supply currently affecting TB. Too many hands and fund pursuing it, hence the drop in rate; coupled with the FG having safe landing in crude sales for now. So, rates drop is inevitable and expected. 3 Likes |

I have a question that has been bothering me... actually two questions 1. If i buy treasury bills through a bank, and the bank folds up later... what happens to my money? Is it gone for vanishing?? 2. I use stanbic ibtc for TB.. is Stanbic a Solid bank?? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Acidosis(m): 12:48pm On Jul 20, 2019 |
kristien4: A bank listed on NSE as a public liability company and licensed by CBN (bound by a capitalization policy) cannot fold up. Unless you have a different interpretation for the term "fold up" - e.g. merger or acquisition, for instance, the acquisition of Diamond bank by Access, the acquisition of Forte Oil by Prudent Energy, etc., the taking over of Skye bank by a new management - Polaris Bank, etc. These companies are not owned by a single individual so they just can't fold up. GTBank is not a sole property of Agbaje and UBA is not Elumelu's sole property. They're jointly owned by thousands of Shareholders. 3 Likes 1 Share |

fireback: Not so oga. For short term investment, the interest is further divided by number of days over 364. Example, If i decide to invest 400k at 10% for 90days. The supposed 40k interest is further multiplied by 90 over 364days.(90/364x40k) = N9890 1 Like |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by olujaidi: 9:26am On Jul 21, 2019 |
Acidosis: Lol. Banking is just like any other business. Businesses fail. Afribank-Mainstreet-Skye-Polaris and BankPhb-Keystone come to mind. These banks were insolvent i.e. their liabilities exceeded their assets, wiping out shareholders' funds. The bridge banks used required hundreds of billions to recapitalise. An investor in NTB is a creditor of the Federal Republic. Your TB is kept with a custodian which is why you're charged custody fee. I have not heard people who used SkyeBank, which is the most recently failed bank, complain that they couldn't get their funds. Abi did any of you guys hear? Perhaps I missed it. Anyway, that is the beauty of the bridge bank model. Makes it seem like the bank didn't fold up. Folks still have jobs, depositors are happy. Shareholders lose out sha . 2 Likes |

Treasury Bills in a layman's term is a risk free investment which involves you giving your money to the government. It is one of the safest investments to do & yours truly have been involved in it since my banking days. Most banks will not tell you about Treasury Bill's because once you apply for treasury bills the money leaves the bank's balance sheet totally. So they will ask you to do Fix deposit, then they will use your money for treasury bills & give you a lower rate. For example if treasury Bills is 10%. They will do Treasury Bills at 10% & give you 3% in fix deposit & take 7%. Stay Woke!!! Then if your money is in current account, lobatan!!! You get nothing. Savings account can get like 1-2%. If you are like me that is always looking for multiple sources of income then this lecture is for you. @i.investng app powered by sterling bank has made things easy for prospective treasury bill investors. Download the app & do the following . 1. Register . 2. Check your email for code & input . 3. Login . 4. Then click on start investing . 5. Click on Treasury Bills . 6. Then you will see the different tenures available. Pick the number of days that suits you & interest rate you like. Incase you have future use for the money. . 7. Input the amount you want to invest (minimum is #100,000) . 8. Click to view your return on investment (If you think the amount is small then trying leaving your money in the bank). They will help you chop that small amount for you. . 9 You can see your maturity date etc . 10. You need to fund the app. Click to fund the app . 11. You can fund your I-invest app via internet bank . 12. Make sure you update your KYC (Know your customer). You need a passport photograph, evidence of address (Utility bill) & an Identity card. . 13. You can terminate your investment at anytime & take your money bank. . 14. Remember your interest is paid upfront so make sure you update your documents so you can withdraw easily. . This is a simplified form of banking done by oneself in the comfort of one's home. Ask your questions in the comment section and I will respond or send a DM to @i.investng on Instagram for further clarification. Thank you!!! 1 Like 1 Share
