By default, my country doesn't need any defending against your countries. My country alone can devastate your entire continent without getting much damage on its own end. If my country chooses to turn hostile openly to any of Nigeria, Ghana or Kenya or any other African country, it will get isolated shortly and future will be in danger.

My nation's anti colonial moments were inspiration for anti colonialists of rest of world, immediately after freedom my country direct hostilities from USA (on Portugal) and Soviet Union (on Kashmir) and ended up turning them ally.

From nuclear to chemical, biological to conventional, fragmented to thermobaric, tactical to strategic, India went on developing every kind of technology and made a robust defense that made India invasion proof against any superpower or colonizer. It then started on pulling millions out of poverty every year while dealing with wars always on multiple fronts outside country and secessionist insurgencies inside country (finishing nearly all) and still facing while growing. From basic automotive to rocket science, India pursued nearly everything what a great power has at low income status early.

At a per capita GDP (nominal) of just $2,200 which itself is growing at very fast pace, India has much better HDI, other human development indicators and access to technology. While you guys still keep on running after other countries for aid, my country has transformed into a donor of aid. We don't have to compromise our national interests in return of nothing against foreign pressure.

Kenya's debt to GDP ratio hasn't even reached the redline 60% yet. What matters a lot is not how big your GDP is, it is how much you can collect as revenues. Nigeria has the worst revenue to GDP ratio that is way less the Sub-Saharan average of around 18-19 percent. South Africa with a slightly less GDP than Nigeria manages to collect 30% revenue as a percentage to its GDP. We use hard cash to settle debt, a bigger GDP wouldn't necessarily help you much. Revenues matter a lot. With a 400 billion plus GDP, what are Nigeria's revenues in tandem to that GDP? The answer is actually sad!

Goel, thanks for clarifying that. Vax is good people except he has a chip on his shoulder when it comes to Indians. There is a lot of anti-Indian sentiment in Africa because Indians & Whites mistreated blacks during the colonial period and of course, the Indian caste system is totally revolting. Anyway, try to keep it economic. The military stuff will generate a whole lot of unnecessary commotion and controversy - and frankly not helpful. There is a lot Africa can learn from Indian - whose economy is now firing on all it's cylinders - growing at 7%.

India really ought to be Africa biggest trading partner & friend because Indian diaspora is all over Africa engaging in trade and manufacturing.

What are you talking? Can India capture Sub Saharan Africa? In my understanding, South Africa alone is able to withstand Indian invasion. Even in technology, SA is ahead of India.SA is more developed than India.What have India done which SA couldn't do?

Anyways Ind/ia is among the only top 4 countries in the world after America, Russia, and China to possess some of the above capabilities.

Also to its credit South Africa is the only country in Africa which has a good defence R & D base and industrial capability to work on the same. However lack of funding and requirements from state military has curtailed it's efforts.

Due to large scale of Indian scientific manpower , facilities , budget and other factors it is not justified to compare In/dia with South Africa. The gap is too huge and increasing exponentially every day.

Also technology is always a work in progress and hence cannot be quantified, especially comparisons between nations.

Incase u did not know there is lot of cooperation between India and South Africa on scientific areas. One of ISRO space control station is based in South Africa , SKA program in South Africa India is one of the funding countries and lead system integrator of the Telescope Manager (TM) for SKA.
