You simply used the wrong terminology

There are two things that can negate the theory that pg13 movies are more profitable due to an wider audience-


1. The aforementioned production costs. A lower budget R18 movie could be more profitable than a high budget pg13 movie if the difference between their profits is smaller than the difference between their costs

2. A highly rated r18 movie can do better than an average rated pg13 movie in the box office

Marvel has a better chance of recouping their investments, and gaining a profit by specializing on a market friendly product than on a more niched variety. The comparative advantage here being Marvel picking P-13 films over R-rated films since the former is more financial viable aka very lucrative.

Well said. At the bolded, i was exaggerating & also, i was just pulling your legs. And you're right, the movie was loosely based on an anime series by the same title. I was just kinda aghast that someone who likes Jackie's style of slapstick action comedy, would actually not fancy the movie, but like you said We can't all love the same things.
