I sincerely appreciate your concern. Thank you

Hi Nigel,

Take things easy. Life is for the living. Don't overwork yourself with worries. These are the things that could lead to HBP.
Eat a good plate of rice and plantain tomorrow and wish yourself the best.

Kind regards.

Twitter Nigeria has some of the most arrogant, self-conceited, over-sabi and haughty individuals I have come across on social media in the country. The vast vast majority are complainers, i.e, complain from today till tomorrow without proffering solutions. Worse is when there is a blue tick besides the username, oh, such individuals claim an all-and-all and shut down divergent views by labelling them with funky words - misogynist, patriarch, homophobe, racist etc.

Regarding the notion of man-know-man, such mentality makes people not to believe in themselves and lose out on a lot of things. I might be accused of quoting him several times, but one invaluable thing I learnt from Jarus is not to base job applications on the theory of man-know-man. Reason is that: there will always be a percentage of folks who will get in without knowing anyone, so why not target being part of that number? This pervasive mentality radiates around the country and prevent believers from applying but the good thing about it is that, such belief system reduces the overall number of applicants. grin

True you are right people get jobs everyday without connection. Trusting God and believing in yourself is all you need.

@Jarus Mr Jarus, kindly help! What advice do you have for a graduate who just got an offer from a bank and a big4 accounting firm(will be first job experience), but whose age by next year is not eligible for graduate trainee programs in private coys in this our wonderful country Nigeria. This person is open to to all career paths except sales/marketing. She wishes to choose either offer and follow whatever career it accords her professionally without wishing to change career at any later time in the nearest or furthest future. She studied economics. Thanks a lot sir.

What if the banks deploys her to a sales/marketing unit?

I would go with big4 without much considerations; except we are talking about investment banks (like Rand and the top ones). Working with the big4 gives you a platform to move on to other industries if you wish and even to the bank at a later time and as an experienced hire. Then you would still be very valuable at your age in Nigeria. My opinion though smiley Congrats dear

Notification of Application status - May 22, 2019
CBT invitation - May 29, 2019
Invitation for oral Interview - June 26, 2019

All these dates are Wednesday. Could APL/Notification for letters be on a Wednesday?

Just my thoughts based on those speculating APL on Wednesday this week.

In my opinion and beyond seemingly reasonable doubt by Dan., Gbriels and jobseeker, the two monikers are one of which it is an indication falsehood does not last long. Hence it is a big lesson for all that whatever we lay our hands on, we should maintain dignity, consistency and true because painting an usual dark house with white color will not survive last. An hype of megalomania couple with proudness of one's achievement is a condescending personality.

Admittedly the guy is very smart for all his achievements thus far but may not be the smartest, yet many fellows NL remain mute here that were once the overall best graduated student of the great citadel of learning and well achieved in their chosen project, not because they can't talk or rather short of words but because they have courtesy of maturity and do not want others be feeling negative of themselves which is the most succinct way of life corroborated that an empty barrel do make noise.

Even though I like your composure in terms of delivering information but using specious profiles of yours to praise yourself unduly is uncalled for and unacceptable in the least. Unfettered findings about Dan. insightful research is indeed a welcome development. Assuming you are using those profiles to feign a post or activities so as to be known and installed . Remember you can't install yourself in a post or any event unless divine installation is guaranteed. Though you're entitled to your opinion but my candid advice for you to grow more.

I rarely write in public but deem it fit because you're from my living spring, Osun state.

In this country it is baffling the way we brush off issues of integrity pretending we are trying to focus on more important things. It clearly shows how poor our values are. If it is true, then it should be condemned in strong terms. It is totally uncalled-for. He has been creating alot of distractions on the thread by his activities. I joined NL as a job seeker during my NYSC in 2007.

Still active 12 years later.

By God's grace, even if I become CEO of an oil company (or GMD of NNPC....lol), I go still dey comment on NL.

It's a 2-way thing. I also benefit from NL. Met some fantastic guys on NL some of whom we have met physically even outside Nigeria etc.Treated to a nice dinner by a NL friend in Manchester last year.

Set up a career consulting firm leveraging NL popularity on career matters. My partner that runs it full time and myself met on NL.

Wrote a book in 2014 ( https://www.jarushub.com/the-road-to-victoria-island/). First chapter of that book was a comment I made on NL in 2008.

Bro! That analysis was one weird and creepy one. Also, I think we should be able to spot the difference between savagery and bullying. Mosgoon is an easy target by everyone because he made the mistake of talking about what he's achieved. Please leave the guy alone. If you don't rate his posts, ignore them.

ucheuzor1:

nice one bro. I still wonder why someone will be monitoring another, in a negative light for that matter. Doesn't really make sense.

I have learnt a lot from this group. Instead of us to see how we help ourselves constructively, we're busy digging information that might tarnish someone's image.

Mosgoon and whoever's axe is gored, please don't take this things too serious. Move on and see it as one of those challenges we often or seldom encounter in our everyday lives.

BTW, I remembered Xfire's career thread which metamorphosed into a pdf file as a result of NL crash more than five years' ago. I believe it will be an interesting read and offers priceless lessons in this career sojourn in life. I am sure he (Xfire) will reminisce those days and smile. smiley

Thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1576265/achieving-dream-career-story-lessons (the crash wiped out a huge percentage of the write-up).

I hope to write mine someday on NL. kiss
