Yes. But nowhere does it state that 007 must be male. It is just a code. Though, like I said it's weird. They could have retired the 007 agent code, assigned a new code and started with a female as the new agent not having a woman follow up what was primarily a man's role. I even find that disrespectful.

Everyone has come to attribute the 007 code to James Bond, the two have become synonymous, having a different person take on the role is strange enough not to talk of woman. If not for the poor reception similar stunts have garnered, I'm pretty they wouldn't stop at just the code name.

To be honest this will ruin the franchise if they try it. Part of the james bond persona is the sex appeal and getting laid is part of whom he is.

Unless they make the movie completely asexual or maybe she has a boyfriend who doesn't know ( sounds cliche to me ), ABEG they should just leave him Male.

A hilarious satire set in a dystopian earth were everyone is repugnantly stupid and an average man who arrived there due to partaking in a forgotten experiment which left him in suspended animation for 500 years is seen as the smartest man in history

This movie has many faults which can be forgiven because it's premise is fresh and it's message is a sound one, if we don't stop celebrating mediocrity, society will eventually become overpopulated by morons.

I assure that you will find a lot of ridiculous things to laugh about in this film. I sure did.

I will never watch such horrible movie if they do it.

They are ruining everything cos of women.
That was how marvel and DC unravelled Superman and Spiderman cos of women!!!! Now Lois Lane know that Superman,who she fantasies so much,is actually Clark Kent,her co-worker who she ignores innitially,not knowing he's actually Superman.

Also Mary Jane now know Peter Parker is actually Spiderman. The thrill is nolonger there..
The suspense was part of the thrill..

They made a J.R.R Tolkien biopic starring Nicholas Hoult? Serve me up!!....N.hoult looking like the main man for biopic ever since he played J.D Salinger in "Rebel in The Rye".
