Lol, I am so sorry he didn't ask you before what he SHOULDN'T do. He does what he wants and what is our law. Are you a US Senator or Congressman for to have the authority to complain or to dictate what our embassy employees should or shouldn't do in his/her job? Our stuff is very professional and very well trained. It's NOT your business to tell them how to do their work.

Oh, I see, reading all your postings, bad English and no useful information in your postings, only fights with all people in you answers, showing your ignorance in all your writing. It is worthless to answer to the person like you.

To everybody here, just ignore this participant' postings, she doesn't know anything about US visa at all.

About losing passports and going to apply for US visa with the new ones. It doesn't help to hide your visa history. From the 1st time you are applying for US visa, all your data is introduced creating a file in US Immigration computer system, including your fingerprints. To apply again changing your name, passport or anything will NOT help, it will show you are lying and your name and fingerprints will be banned in the US Immigration system. Any new information in your next visa application is automatically compared with the previous one, any personal information differences can automatically deny your visa.

well i think the issue is with the passport theft story, not the visa misuse by the children. Adjustments of status from Visitor to Student status is very legal.

While legal, this is now highly discouraged, especially where the visitor did not explicitly state that he/she intended to consider switching status during the visit. The visa is then marked “prospective student”. The US State Department specifically issued a memo on this in 2017. You can read it here - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2017/09/18/us/politics/us-visa-rules-tillerson.amp.html

Guys . My uncle has a challenge . He's a very frequent traveller , he has been to almost all continents courtesy his activeness as a Rotarian.
Him, his wife and two children age 17 and 19 respectively got thier visit visa in 2017 and when they went. The children stayed back and changed thier status to student status .

Parents passport got lost due to theft and the father and mother went for interview just this morning and were refused.

In the transcript of the interview , my uncle (father) said he perceived that the reason for thier refusal was because the kids changed thier status during thier visit because that was the major question asked by the VO

And they were given a pink paper which state that they haven't shown enough home ties according to Section 214(b) of US immgration and Nationality Act. Which I think is generic.

Pls, if this is true ,how can it be tackled .

Your uncle was right. He was denied a visa because the VO perceived his children to have lied about the intent of obtaining their B2 visas. While they claimed tourism, it’s most likely they intended to stay back and change status. This has severely damaged theirs and the credibility of the parents. My advice is that those kids never return to Nigeria to renew their visas again and your uncle and his wife should find other countries to visit. This is what you get for trying to play smart.

You are allowed to rescheduled once. You don't av to pay another money. The new date you get for rescheduling is subject to available dates as at that time.

I applied for B1/B2 visa at U.S Embassy, Abuja on and had interview on May 15, 2019. After the interview, I was given a yellow paper stating that my application will undergo further “Administrative Processing”.

The consular officer said he will forward supplementary questions to my email that I should reply him with the answers to enable him make decision on my visa application which I replied a day after my interview.

It’s more than 60 days after the interview and my visa status on CAEC web is still showing “Administrative Processing”. Kindly advice on what to do.

Thank you.

Did they keep your passport? If they did, it means they plan to give you visa but still investigating.

Your parents need nothing from your brother. They will either obtain or be denied a visa on their own merit.

There is a thread here where US consulate officials answer questions like yours. You should post this question there.

If your mom and dad are planning to apply for a B1/B2 visa then the case is between the consular officer and your parents only. smiley

Your elder brother cannot influence the B1/B2 visa application process even if he is a citizen or green card holder. smiley

If your elder brother is not a U.S citizen or green card holder then there is no point even involving him in the process. undecided

I can see you have made statements about “invitation letter” multiples time on the thread but this is the fact for U.S B1/B2 visa please note that invitation letters are completely useless. shocked

Hi...I'm heading to the US on F1 visa

I read somewhere that cooking utensils are quite expensive in the US...I'm wondering if I can go with a few in my baggage from Naija.

For the experienced travelers...Is it possible?
